Marilyn is short, only standing at about 5"6 in heels, 5"4 without them. Height has never been a high point for the Diggles. She's got a pretty average build in her opinion, although because of her height, her frame is small. She's got her little curves and doesn't really have to worry about getting fat due to her high metabolism. She's not terribly athletic so her muscle mass is lacking, but she more than makes up for it with her facial features. Every part of her small face is miniature, and she's been mistaken many a time for a thirteen year old, much to her displeasure. Her hair falls just below her shoulders and is, at most times, a sandy blonde, although she's recently gotten into hair dyes and it wouldn't be totally uncommon for her to experiment. For the most part, though, she likes her natural hair color and plans to stick with it.

Marilyn is the sweetheart of her house. She's the sweetest hufflepuff you could ever meet and she often puts others before herself.

Marilyn's a gentle person, she hardly ever yells and, for the most part, tries her best to avoid confrontation. Ever since she can remember she's hated upsetting people and she works very hard to please everyone, even if the outcome is bad for her. It's a curse and a gift she just can't control, 'no' simply isn't a word she enjoys using and, as a result, she's incredibly stressed at all times. She's always got something to do for someone or a deadline to meet for something that wasn't even her's to begin with. But don't ever tell her to stop, because she's just naive enough not to believe you until the VERY last second. She's been pushed around and screwed over more times than anyone could count but instead of learning from her mistakes, she figures it was just a bad shake and keeps the cycle going. That's just May, she's always been this way.

Marilyn loves magical creatures. LOVES THEM. So much so that she's seriously considering becoming a Magizoologist for the Ministry. For her, nothing's better than spending time with them, studying them, taking care of them, protecting them and especially drawing them. In her six years at Hogwarts, she's gone through four or five journals full of drawings of different animals she's spotted. She'll ruin a million sheets of parchment to get it just right and she's darn proud of her little drawing collection, even if she is too shy to show anyone.

Although Mary's all for giving her services for a greater cause, a huge hinderance is in her upbringing as a whole. She never went hungry and although she wasn't the richest little girl on the block, she was pretty sheltered for the most part. In bedtime stories right before drifting off to sleep and books her mother'd read to her lot in the afternoons, there were never unhappy endings nor did she experience any trauma in her upbringing(piranha attaks don't count), which leads to a serious flaw in her personality. She finds it hard to relate to suffering. A feeling one has never had is hard to emulate, as is the case with May. It takes her a much longer time to relate to a situation because of this and she tends to get frustrated halfway through.

May's most pronounced downfall would have to be her feet. She'll trip over nothing at all at any given time of the day and it'd be extremely rare for her to get through a week without a few spills. It's not her fault she's got two left feet and you can just forget about her walking in heels. She much prefers skirts to those trippy dresses her mother forces her into every now and again anyways, much less fabric to watch out for. In Marilyn's sixteen years of existence there hasn't been a single time where she's successfully walked in heels.

HISTORY

Evelyn and Perry were an odd couple. One was a muggle from Ireland and the other a halfblood British wizard from a less-than glorious family. They met in Avoca, Evelyn's birthplace and Perry's destination vacation after graduating with all limbs intact from Hogwarts. She was working at her father's pub, showcasing her river dance from time to time and from what Marilyn was told, it was that river dance that'd captivated him on his very first day in Ireland. He'd simply walked inside, eyed the fair-haired beauty and was smitten from that point on. The pair would date for several years before marrying five years later in France(since neither wanted to marry in the other's home country) and it wouldn't be long before their first child was on her way. A daughter whom they'd name Marilyn.

Now, to understand May's upbringing is to understand that even in marriage Perry found a way to justify not telling Evelyn about his 'abilities' afraid that once told, she'd leave him. Couldn't have that now could we? Especially with a newborn child in their care. And so he would carry this secret to his grave...or so he thought. In her early childhood Marilyn was less than extraordinary, she slept and ate like a normal child and seldom had tantrums. She was a quiet little frizzy blonde haired girl and spent the majority of her time in her room drawing in her coloring books with an intense concentration. Her twin brothers would be born four years after Mary and her little sisters Jane and Susan would follow not too long after.

Even with the addition of new siblings though, May preferred to stay to herself. Her little siblings were mean(because they were too small to know the difference) and would pull her hair or bite her for no reason if she was too close, and so she preferred the sanctity of her room where she remained unscathed from the piranhas that were her siblings. But they grew as did she and once the initial piranha stage subsided she attempted friendship again. This was when the weirdness began. Her twin brothers could smash things by looking at them, her mother didn't know, but Mary saw. When one of them was upset, the closest object to them would explode, and in her mind, Marilyn made a mental note never to upset them, they weren't normal. Her sisters would follow in the oddities, Susan causing objects to float for seconds before dropping it and Jane causing all kinds of havoc on their poor cat with his changing colors due to her mood.

Mary felt left out, why couldn't Mary do these things. She sat in her bedroom once and concentrated on a clay sculpture she'd made in the fourth grade, but it didn't budge. Nothing budged. She wasn't special. A small amount of resentment made it's way into her heart as she felt excluded from her family, well, at least her mum and dad weren't special too. Wrong again. She'd walk downstairs to catch her father washing the dishes with being anywhere near the sink. The moment she'd caught him, the dishes dropped back into the sink with a clang and he acted as if nothing had happened, but Mary knew better.

It wouldn't be until her eleventh birthday that her suspicions would be confirmed with the presence of a very peculiar owl to the dinner table. Opening the letter, Marilyn would find it's contents to be the missing puzzle piece, a loud,'I KNEW IT!' resounding from her small voice. Not a month later, Marilyn stood on platform 9-3/4 and heading off on her way to Hogwarts, but the road to get there would not be a pleasant one for all involved. After the delivery of such a letter Evelyn scoffed at it's claims, it was impossible, right Perry? Oh, but poor Perry would be caught off guard and Evelyn would pick up on it, and the impending argument would last a few weeks before any resolution could be met. Perry had been outed by his old school, years of lies caught up to him, and although she should have left, Evelyn would eventually accept all of it, not for her scumbag of a husband, but for her children who needed a father.

At Hogwarts, Marilyn would immediately be sorted into Hufflepuff much to her delight and would find it easy to gain 'friends' since she was rather socially awkward and afraid of being disliked. This would be where her inner-pushover would take over. In her very first year she'd gain the title of Hufflepuff Sweetheart, an endearing title for someone who was basically treated as a slave to her peers, a vessle for everything they didn't want to do. This wouldn't change through the years and although May would give her all to her studies she would eventually come to terms with her average grades. She was an average student, that is, except for COMC. In her third year, she take the class and it would be there, in that class, that she'd find more to this school than monotonous classes and annoyingly, beggy students. It was here that she found a calling for herself. Minutes after class would turn to hours and hours until she spent most of her time with the animals. She loved everything about them; they were such fascinating creatures.

Even now, in her sixth year, with 0 boyfriends to date and very few real friends, she finds comfort in her time with the animals, they make her life worth living, and she'll do whatever it takes to become a big part of theirs.

QUOTE

Driving down the street in a old junker he'd bought to keep up appearances, aiden was talking away on his bluetooth connecting to the board of directors for his company in chicago,"Listen, I do NOT care who leaked the last issue, just DONT LET IT FUCKING HAPPEN AGAIN, christ, this is the second goddamn time..." Slowing down for a yellow light up ahead, a blue minivan cut him off, nearly giving him a heart attack and causing him to jam down on the breaks, lurching him forward. Catching his breath, he stared up at the back of the minivan, a 'children on board' bumper sticker stamped on the bumper. Giving a sarcastic chuckle, he rubbed his neck, a tender spot from being thrown at the steering wheel was throbbing with pain. Murmuring to himself about whiplash and calling his lawyers, he totally forgot about the headset in his ear. 'Umm sir?' called a man aiden identified as his marketing director.

Clearing his throat and straightening up, aiden lightly stepped on the gas and continued his conversation,"Back to the situation at hand, gentlemen, i don't care how you do it, but DO not call me again with news like this if you want to keep your jobs." Hanging up promptly, he threw the bluetooth into the back angrily and made a sharp turn down the main road. Rolling down the window, he rested an arm on the ledge, driving with a hand running through his hair. Why was he doing this to himself? Here he was, a multi-millionaire, driving an old junk car with rusted white paint that smelt faintly of lemons and fried chicken, seats stained a darker navy from the already navy upholstered seats and a back door window with peeling purple tint and a crack-up window conroller that refused to go below halfway.

But it was the clothing that really annoyed him. Here he was, a man who'd never worn non-designer clothing, in apparel from Walmart and Marshalls. His skin itched from the unfamiliar fabric and honestly, he'd have much preferred a suit and black tie over this, and he HATED the suit and tie. Glancing occasionally at the shops and restaurants the little town had to offer, Aiden did a double, no, triple-take at the sight of a pastry shop. It was Fey's pastry shop. From the moment he'd locked eyes with her he'd been hellbent on making her his and he quickly made a sharp u-turn and parked right in front. Hiding his phone and other expensive articles necessary for his job in the dash compartment, he shoved the door hard to open it and stepped out in a way that made him giddy, he looked pretty damn cool if he did say so himself.

Walking into the store, a bell rung overhead and for a moment it confused him, having never been in a store with those old-fashioned things. Looking straight ahead his eyes immediately spotted the girl of his dreams and even he had to admit she looked lovely in her chef-gear. Feeling for his wallet and pulling it out slightly, his eyes widened at the designer name on the side, damnit, he'd forgotten to switch them out! Rushing back outside and to his car, he hurriedly pulled out fourty dollars, shoving them into his pocket, and reached in his car and placed the wallet in the compartment overhead. Checking himself one final time in the car's sideview mirror, Aiden smiled. He may have felt like a bum but common wear suited him. He wore a white tee with an unbuttoned plaid shirt over it and some simple levi jeans. Entering the small shop for a second time he confidently(or confident by his standards) walked up to the counter where she was and shot her his best smile,"Y'know, you look positively radiant today."

As you may know, CHIME operates on a competition system. There was nothing necessarily bad about this application - but in the end, we ultimately went with the other interpretation. We felt there was more depth, and it fit in with what the requester had in mind.

We hope you stick around and apply for someone else, though!
