if you are talking about the original and not the creepy american black people remake (when they say black comedy they don't mean everyone is black) then YES
i have never seen galaxy quest
or the godfather
enlighten me
Maitaine Whisp - August 1, 2011 06:59 AM (GMT)
OR 1960S BATMAN WITH ADAM WEST AND BURT WARD.
JUST SAYING.
galaxy quest is hilarious and the godfather is good. but. you know. 1960s batman, nbd.
Miss Scarlett - August 1, 2011 07:18 AM (GMT)
GALAXY QUEST INDUCTION:
Sigourney Weaver is in it.

Oh. AND SNAPE.

among other awesome things.

tony shaloub, the guy who played MONK is in it too. :}
Cygnus Black III - August 1, 2011 07:37 AM (GMT)
omg Amanda and Oz get on that.
I also think Billy Elliot would be good. And Beauty and the Beast. And Mean Girls.
Or we can cry together while watching Never Let Me Go nbd.
Professor Plum - August 1, 2011 08:22 AM (GMT)
Lisette Scamander - August 1, 2011 02:42 PM (GMT)
bez that is such an inconsiderate suggestion :|
i haven't seen most of these movies, but i vote for anything that isn't scary.
i will defs watch the alien-snape movie, but i also second um dps and billy elliot.
i can't think of new contributions atm but i am working on it.

Colonel Mustard - August 1, 2011 03:47 PM (GMT)
I FORGOT STAR WARS
AHHHHHHHHHHHHH
AND THE MATRIX
(only the first)
i also think we should some classy 1940s film noir to get into the mood you know
like THE THIRD MAN
Lisette Scamander - August 1, 2011 03:56 PM (GMT)
Isaac Carmichael - August 1, 2011 05:01 PM (GMT)
WAIT I ACTUALLY TOTALLY AGREE THAT IT SHOULD BE EITHER A 40S FILM NOIR OR A FILM ABOUT/TAKES PLACE IN THE 40S FOR THE MOOD OF THE SITE. (:
all of that was type-screamed so hopefully it was understood
Lisette Scamander - August 1, 2011 05:06 PM (GMT)
Isaac Carmichael - August 1, 2011 05:15 PM (GMT)
omgosh we'd be so good at being 40ish afterwards
LOL
ALSO "In Which We Serve" was apparently listed as "Number 92 in the BFI Top 100 British films."
LMFAO
i love how dramatic their posters were
if we made that in this era, i'd be like. "could be a pretty good film in our time, i guess. if we're only talking about the past few months, i mean."
also, the Titanic apparently guest stars in this film!!
Isaac Carmichael - August 1, 2011 05:41 PM (GMT)
this is cora and mine's official suggestion... please ignore the really insulting way the reviewer describes british people, lmfaoslaksjd

Lisette Scamander - August 1, 2011 05:46 PM (GMT)
"It's hard to believe that a great comedy could be made of the blitz but John Boorman has done it."
Mister Green - August 1, 2011 07:57 PM (GMT)
Miranda Goshawk - August 2, 2011 12:37 AM (GMT)
BOY IN THE STRIPED PAJAMAS.
ITS THE FEEL GOOD COMEDY OF THE YEAR.
Or, I mean, uhm, Dead Poets Society is 50's but I love it. ;-;
Also, here are the top ten movies of the 40's
http://www.listal.com/list/imdb-top-10-best-movies-9996
Colonel Mustard - August 2, 2011 12:51 AM (GMT)
ty for that, sammie!
from that list, i think casablanca, CITIZEN KANE!, and the maltese falcon would all be extremely classy
also from that list, though i've mentioned it already, THE THIRD MAN
it too has orson welles
perhaps in his most iconic role
Mister Green - August 2, 2011 12:53 AM (GMT)
sorry, his most iconic role was narrating this
Colonel Mustard - August 2, 2011 12:55 AM (GMT)
Miranda Goshawk - August 2, 2011 12:59 AM (GMT)
