This Global Warming Omni-Hoax is one of those ideas that, like the federal reserve, welfare state, or socialized medicine, stands to greatly and negatively affect our standard of living.

This is no longer an academic. Our civilization literally runs on machines and processes that produce carbon dioxide. We need only look as far as Europe, with their $30,000 compact cars and their $8 a gallon gas to see what this sort of legislation can result in. And that is only one example, from one particular sector of the economy (automobiles). That transportation is factored into the price of every good and service in the economy, as all businesses have transportation costs in one way or another.

And that is not to mention the added costs of electricity, and the ripples that would throw through our economy.

Remember that "the economy" isn't just an abstraction. It is your cost of living. Your quality of life. And when these acolytes of the primitive call for sacrifices, it is you who will be doing the sacrificing.
