» Main Character Descriptions

Bellatrix Black – Bellatrix Black is the eldest daughter of Cygnus and Druella (Rosier) Black. She is haughty and proud, and ardently supportive of pureblood elitism. She is often deemed a bitch and a cold blooded murderess, and her more positive qualities are overlooked. Not only is she steadfastly loyal and true, but she is intelligent, resourceful, and at times, very generous with her time and love. With those she knows well she can be warm, caring, and witty. She is stubborn and often rebels against common perception in order to merely ‘be different’. But at the same time, she conforms to her family’s wishes for her, regardless of what she truly desires.

Narcissa Black – Twenty-one year old Narcissa is the youngest daughter of Cygnus and Druella (Rosier) Black. Narcissa is, like her sister, proud and haughty. But while Bellatrix can be warm and caring, Narcissa tends to be cold and distant. While she agrees with her sister and family on the political and social matters they adhere to, she hardly exhibits her beliefs like Bellatrix. She prefers to keep to pureblood social circles and avoid mudbloods, but is not a member of the Death Eaters. She can be vain and careless with her words, but to those she forms lasting attachments she is unwaveringly faithful and loving.

Regulus Black – Fifteen year old Regulus is the younger brother of the now infamous, and recently exiled, Sirius Black. Weaker than his older brother, Regulus is hardly able to keep his head up, much less carry the Black family to fame and fortune. He is quiet, smiles rarely, and has often been described by teachers as a “melancholy boy without much personality”. Having always been overshadowed by Sirius, he is now expected to take up the mantle of his older brother, and he feels he is hardly up to the task. While he sympathises with the Dark Lord’s agenda, he is also scared to commit. While he has many weaknesses, Regulus is also, like the rest of his family, loyal and faithful. He also exhibits rare displays of affection to those he loves.

Barty Crouch Jr. – Born to the noble pureblood family of Crouch, Barty has adopted many beliefs not in adherence to his father’s dogmatic approach of parenting. Barty is forced to keep his devotion to pureblood dominance from his parents, and he operates in disguise and under the cover of night. He and Bellatrix are the two favoured servants of the Dark Lord, and both serve him with a fanaticism that is rare for their young age. Barty has just graduated from Hogwarts, and although he is currently employed at the Ministry in a middle management job, he works as a secret operative for the Dark Lord, and spends his nights spreading death and destruction.

Antonin Dolohov – Twenty-three year old Antonin is one of the quieter, but perhaps more disturbed of the Death Eaters. A traumatic childhood, and a pureblood preference rammed down his throat, has created a truly twisted individual. Antonin has a deep affinity for Bellatrix, and they often tag-team torture, each gaining a truly unexpected level of pleasure from extracting information via pain. He thinks of the Death Eaters as his true family, and he would die for any one of them. His love for the Dark Lord is equal to that of Barty or Bellatrix’s.

Rabastan Lestrange – The older of the Lestrange brothers is a plump individual who has hardly anything to look forward to in life other than his work for the Death Eaters. Rabastan has always had a crush on his school mate and co-worker, Bellatrix Black, but his more charming brother has always stymied any attempts on his part to woo her. Rabastan stands to inherit the entire Lestrange family fortune, and he hopes to dedicate a fair amount of the inheritance to the Dark Lord’s cause.

Rodolphus Lestrange – The younger of the Lestrange brothers is by far, the more handsome and charming, of the two. He is both suave and debonair, but in a quiet way. He considers himself an artist, and paints giant murals of apocalyptic scenes. He is resourceful and cunning, and unlike many of the other Death Eaters, Rodolphus does not seem to have as great a penchant for cruelty. His is, however, adroit at extracting information from reluctant souls, as well as killing quickly without mercy. He is, however, developing a proclivity towards the imperius and killing curses. Rodolphus is in love with Bellatrix Black, and intends to marry her.

Lucius Malfoy – Lucius Malfoy is known for his wit and for his conceit, both of which have served him nobly on behalf of the Dark Lord. His ability to cunningly insinuate himself into the good will of many has also protected him from suspicion from the Ministry. He continually feeds information to the Dark Lord on the Ministry’s actions. Furthermore, he often betrays those who place him in their confidence, turning on them when the least expect it, in order to further his own agenda. While he does view the Death Eaters as his family, unlike the rest, who genuinely trust and love one another, he would stoop to eliminate many of them for his own avarice and ambition.

Evan Rosier – Evan Rosier, although he is only seventeen, is already an ardent Death Eater. He hails from another old pureblood family, and is closely related to Bellatrix and Narcissa Black through their mother. His father was one of the first Death Eaters. He is a brash, loud, and bold individual, who lacks ambition, but wields considerable talent with spells. He disdains the use of the Unforgivable Curses, considering them crutches, and gains considerable pleasure from creating his own deadly and disgusting spells for duels and battle.

Severus Snape – Severus has always been a somewhat troubled individual, finding it hard to reconcile his pureblood mania with being a half-blood. He conceals much of himself from his friends, but he trusts them with much of his problems, and for the most part, they are willing to commiserate and extend a helping hand. Of the Death Eaters, he is perhaps the most experimental. His spells have been used and appreciated by the Dark Lord himself, and Severus prides himself in being both inventive and secretive. He holds a severe, perhaps deadly, grudge against Sirius Black and James Potter.

Just a quick question for anglachel or thouartenvious - quite a few people have been asking me if they can apply as Emmeline Vance, Marlene McKinnon, Gwenog Jones, Frank Longbottom, and other non-Slytherin characters that are usually regarded as Marauders' Era canon students or young adults. I know this forum focuses on the Slytherins and Death Eaters, but is it okay for them to apply as those characters?

But, as for Sn00wCat's question, I don't see why not. Though I know this focuses more on the Death Eaters and the first war, but how can there be a war without Order Members. I don't see why we can't have a small, all canon group of Order Members. That way, I think, it'll be easier to get more DE vs OotP subplots written. I think all of them should be adults; at least, 18, because there's not much for students to do on this board.
