Here is a really interesting paper about how people interact online with each other— I think that we should all read this perhaps just to get a little insight into how emoticons and how particular language can be misconstrued over the internet. I, for one, have gotten into massive massive fights with my best friend over the internet, and not because either of us intended to be mean or nasty, but merely because the phrasing of a sentence can be wildly misinterpreted.

It's written by Lando, and the paper is hosted on a site of a friend of mine's, so I guess I'm just promoting them (haha) but really, this is a very good paper. So I suggest it (it's not mandatory at all) and I think some of you will find it both amusing and enlightenting.
