BAD BLOOD
The discovery of a synthetic blood was a miracle in the medical world. No longer would there be blood shortages in hospitals - countless lives would be saved with the miracle substance, coming in every blood type known to man. But it wasn't just doctors who applauded the new discovery. Vampires, those undead beings from horror movies and teenage romance novels, came out of the coffin (so to speak) with this new stride in technology. No was it necessary for them to live in secret, feeding off of unwitting humans, The key to their assimilation into human society, to live open lives as vampires, was right there is a glass bottle.
If only it were that easy.
North Harris, Massachusetts can be, quite simply, considered your average, cookie-cutter, upper-crust New England town. Once a haven for old money families to build their enormous houses, within the last twenty years the town has experienced a population boom. Middle class families and working singles move in and out, settling the picturesque little town.Quite recently, however, the newest addition of undead residents has been raising eyebrows and making skin crawl.
There are some human who have openly accepted the vampire arrival into New Harris. There are others, however, who are a bit more than skeptical. The emergence of a new social debate is growing. Pro- or anti- vampire; pick a side. Attacks on both sides have started. The radical vampire haters and the blood-thirsty creatures themselves are equally as responsible for the violence. The real question, however, is who will win out?
