Good work, but why did you refer to the Docs as if there were two of them? I mean, Emmett is just as gone as Marty, as he was never seen again after the morning of October 26th, 1985 (or, as the only one who saw them then was Biff, probably the day before, or even the week before, as he'd been missing for some time by then as evidenced at the start of the first movie, where Marty didn't know where Doc had gone).

Because Clint Eastwood is also "Doc", remember? If your fic, that was how young Emmett had addressed him. Of the trio, young Emmett was the only one Marty and company addressed as Doc - but they're now learning how everything has come full circle.

Yes, but that happened from Scott Eastwood's POV if I'm not mistaken, and Clint Eastwood would be 'Great-Grandpa' for him, not 'Doc'. I suppose he just says 'either of them' because he knows that to Harmony, Clint is actually 'Doc' and not her grandfather. So he's just saying that to make sure that she understands his point.

Is that idea a bit correct? I sure hope it is... it'd be even more confusing otherwise.

Pretty much, yeah. Harmony is still getting used to the idea that Dr. Christopher Lloyd Brown (her grandpa) and Dr. Emmett Von Braun (Doc) are the same person. They then also make note of the fact that Dr. Von Braun has always referred to Dr. Clint Eastwood (Scott's great-grandfather) as "Doc". So, basically, that's it. Of course, Harmony has always known Clint as Dr. Eastwood.

Sorry I wasn't on the past few days. I had some stuff to deal with - but I'm back, all revved up and raring to go.

All right, thanks for explaining to me. I was wondering where you went - but it hadn't really been long enough for me to complain about it, and I wouldn't want to appear like I'm lecturing you on being away from the board.
