Title: Marty And The Mcflys....

Marty and the McFlys - February 28, 2005 12:28 PM (GMT)
Ok I have added two more songs that I have written to my website and a new logo and a guestbook. I really want to have this band, and make music about BTTF, but i'm still in school and everybody I know, like my freinds and other people, they really don't care anymore about me doing it. It's jkust like, so what? So I just might wait awhile.

I know and are friends with Harry and the Potters and they are getting sued by Warner Bros. and I really don't want to go through that trouble. But I will still be doing Marty and the McFlys. The only people in the band are me and my drummer friend Dave, so until I actually meet people who like BTTF, I 'll have some help writing songs. I was aiming for a rock opera to have the whole movie be described in the songs. I wrote about 7 songs and on the website they are in order.

And since everyone here likes BTTF here, I waqnt to know if I should still do it and if its a good idea, and I need a little support to show my friends wrong.

Thanks
Mike Small

I noe this is late but ive only just seen it. I rekon you should go for it, who cares if warner bros might sue you or not. if you do a good job of it, warner bros might even back you. i have some mates who set up a harry potter fan site, using material they should have not, so warner bros were going to take them to court, but, as the site was so popular in the UK alone, they decided to drop the charges and back them by giving them official merchandise to give out as prizes.
its worth the effort i say, so go for it.

You have to remember as well, that Harry Potter is an ongoing concern for Warners, so they have to jump on the heads of anyone even remotely infringing copyright, otherwise people will take greater and greater liberties.

With BTTF, the last movie was over a decade ago, so I can't see Universal being quite so militant about suing people for minor infringements.

Well that is true.
I'd like to see some mp3's from The Marty and McFlyers or whatever the name of the band is.
It looks good :)
