Title: Note To The Moderators
Alternate Strickland - May 14, 2004 11:28 PM (GMT)
I just want to remind all all the modersators that they must be active members. If they are not active members, they will be no longer be moderators. If a moderator no longer can/wants to be a mod, PM me and I'll get you a replacement.
And to the mebers who are not moderators, please stay active! Moderator positions may be avaible soon also.
Eastwood McFly - May 15, 2004 01:26 AM (GMT)
Okay Captain Strick, sorry dude. I know I don't post much I do however read every single topic including all the topics outside of my designated forums.
I really like being a moderator, thanks again A.S. B)
Alternate Strickland - May 15, 2004 04:18 PM (GMT)
If you don't post much but are active, I might not know this because we may be online at different times. Perhpas you (and other mods if this is a problem) could post in a game in the chit-chat fourm so I would know.
BeanieRobert2001 - May 15, 2004 10:43 PM (GMT)
i post when i see something i can do...but because of this message i will be more active.

Like Eastwood, I may not post that much, but I do check my forums to make sure the rules of this board aren't being violated. When I come on this board, though, to check it out, I almost always post in the "Conversation with BTTF quotes" thread and the "A new BTTF game (sort of)" thread.
bttfjunkie85 - May 18, 2004 04:16 PM (GMT)
How does one become a moderator on this board?
:88: <--can't get enough of that smiley
Blind Spot - May 18, 2004 05:56 PM (GMT)
^ Heya. Welcome. :D
There's a thread which talked about that very thing when the board was designed around 3 weeks ago. Unfortunately, all the positions are filled at the moment, but Alt Strickland says he may have more openings if/when one of the current mods become inactive and/or resign.
Pit Bull - May 18, 2004 06:30 PM (GMT)
I'm gonna try to be more active.
Thanx!
Alternate Strickland - May 18, 2004 07:07 PM (GMT)
Thank you moderators who either posted here or showed me you are active.
I just noticed that one your user profile, it tells when you were last on the board. This helps things a lot, but it still wouldn't hurt to post at east once, even if its in a game when you come online.
If Patrick (who hasn't been active since May 2nd) could be more active that would be appreicated. If not,a new moderator will be appointed and that topic will be re-opened.
I am also considering making some new forums which would need 1 or 2 new moderator(s).
Zack - May 20, 2004 01:12 PM (GMT)
I am also active.
Just had to say it :P
Hoverboardkid - May 20, 2004 04:12 PM (GMT)
Have you noticed that the omderator of the Delorean forum only has one post and never does anything??? He was last active May 2. Pit Bull showed me this - very strange...
Alternate Strickland - May 20, 2004 09:02 PM (GMT)
I know. I mentioned it in my last post in this topic...
Hoverboardkid - May 20, 2004 10:40 PM (GMT)
^Oh, sorry. Let's get back on topic now... ;)
TheJoker - May 26, 2004 03:18 AM (GMT)
Alt, I am very sorry that i wasnt acive for like 3 days. But i have a lot of things to do. So many regents to review for and also tests. Very stressful. I will still be on but you may( and i stress may) find that i may not be on for a couple a days. But i will continue to be active.
Hoverboardkid - May 26, 2004 01:15 PM (GMT)
^Glad to see you're back, Joker. We need your comic relief on this board. :P
Alternate Strickland - May 26, 2004 04:16 PM (GMT)
It's ok Joker. I was talking about people who haven't been on for a week or more. If you do have to go away or can't be on the board , just PM me to let me know. Thanks. :)

When you do need them, consider me please as I would love the responsibility. Plus I am active pretty much every day. Well it had to be said.
Alternate Strickland - June 21, 2004 04:32 PM (GMT)
If you are inactive on this board for 2 weeks (14 days) or more without letting me know that you would be gone for whatever reason, you will lose your moderator position without warning no questions asked. We have too many moderators already and if people do not do there job they will lose it.
And also, I know moderators can be active and check out their forums without posting but please try to post and keep this message board active. :)

I agree, but I'd like to point out that there's another way that moderators can not do their job, and that's by posting improperly. As an example of what I mean, I heavily modified the "What do we all look like" thread last night, clearing it of joke-only posts that posted pictures of celebrities rather than of the MB users themselves. Sadly, every post made that I had to delete was from a moderator. This should not be the case. Chris, I'm not trying to undermine your judgement or anything, but perhaps you should reconsider who you've made a moderator. :doc3:
FireTrails - June 28, 2004 12:09 AM (GMT)
 ^Shut up already. You have got to be the most annoying person on the internet. You think this is school or somethin? Damn, Chris wanted this board to be more laid back and easy going, it's not like a murder was committed. We just try to have some fun around here. Maybe you should be fired, after all u are causing all the problems around here. My post wasn't causing any problems Kojak. Even Chris said that it wasn't necessary to delete it. Jesus fricking Christ, I mean I did give examples of how I looked like those people, so don't even tell me that I just pulled that out of my @$$ and posted it. Maybe someone should delete your pic, I mean, it could scare members away. I already let Chris take my Mod position away, I mean if ur gonna have a sh*t fit every time I joke around then it's not worth it. Maybe YOU should give up your position instead Mrs. Slavedriver.

Ok I will fess up, I am really sorry about this and now I regret making that post. I was just trying to give some laughs in your world but I understand it was a bad decision on my part.
I hopefully can keep my moderator postion becase it means a lot to me. Sorry again about that and it will never happen again. :(
(And let's say if it does then nobody can use these words I said above to quote me on saying I will never do that again). Just Kidding, Seriousl it won't happen again. :happydoc:
Lil' White Dove - June 28, 2004 03:55 AM (GMT)
FireTrails, I sent a PM to you. I hope that you will take what I have said in it to heart.
Alternate Strickland - June 28, 2004 03:57 PM (GMT)
OK I cleared this topic of most the Off-topic posts. Some needed to stay.Nobody is going to lose their moderator position.
And I now have a new rule: If a moderator needs to delete a post that is boderline (not offensive but off-topic. please PM me first. Beanie did this once and I think it will help solve this problem.
BeanieRobert2001 - July 14, 2004 01:42 PM (GMT)
^see,i'm the good mod.
I ask the big chesse before i do something!!!
I do think that one mod. around here should calm down...lets not this be a bttf.com message board where there are so many rules and you can ONLY talk about BTTF,you can't post any pics of yourself, you get BANNED once because you posted in the BTTF Ride DVD topic.Thats why you don't see me post that much on bttf.com anymore because i'm afraid if i do something wrong then i will get banned and also because there is nothing to talk about. So i come here...
I Already helped FireTrails get his warn level down because it wasn't his fault. Please...us as mod. are not the mayor of the bttf city. Calm down.

Alright, I'm in the mood to clam down, we'll eat some clam chowder together. I'm just jokin' with you, dude. I know you meant to say "calm."
Seriously, I know this isn't BTTF.com -- the board was created to be able to discuss off-topic things and play games, etc. In fact, that's usually what I do here. I try and save my "deep BTTF discussion talks" for BTTF.com, and be more casual here.
However, even if it is casual, there still are some rules here that should be followed. Am I the mod you're speaking of, BTW? :(

BeanieRobert2001 - July 14, 2004 06:44 PM (GMT)
^^I HAD TO EDIT MY POST...i didn't even notice it when i did it.
and no its not you...it don't matter who it was...it goes to all mod.
Lil' White Dove - July 14, 2004 07:20 PM (GMT)
I've just got to add something...
Beanie, did you notice how the dates of those angry/argumentative posts are from June 28? This matter has already been resolved, so I don't know why you're trying to breathe new life into the problem. Not trying to be mean, but it just seems like you didn't notice the dates on those previous posts.
I'm pretty sure you mean me when you say that "one mod. should calm down," and I don't know if you noticed, but I was never so strict that I closed non-BTTF threads (why would I? We have an entire off-topic forum) and the only thread I "cleaned up" that became controversial was the "What do we all look like?" thread.
I stand by my decision and I don't know why you're trying to imply that I've been bad just because I don't always ask Chris what to do. Seems to me that you're trying to open old wounds, and I really do not appreciate that. This matter has been settled; FireTrails and I are friends again.
Please look at the dates next time before you go re-opening an already settled matter.
FireTrails - July 14, 2004 08:30 PM (GMT)
^I think Beanie is talking about a whole bunch of different things here...like my warning level for instance. It had nothing to do with you, LWD, but it was because my home page link in my Profile used to be a porn site, but i explained to Beanie that it wasn't my doing, my computer was heavily infected with Spyware at the time. I had no control over my Internet Explorer home page at the time. Thank GOD it is fixed now.
Now I'm guessing that beanie is also referring to our beef, LWD. Well I'm sure beanie has a reason for bringing that up, I'm sure he wouldn't want to just cause trouble. Maybe Beanie has become upset with some of your decisions or something like that, I have no idea. But lets not cause an uproar about hings that were not sure about.
And thanks again Beanie for helping me out with my Warning Level and listening to what I had to say. :)

I just think that from what Beanie said above, all logic points to the moderator he's talking about being me. Seems pretty obvious since I'm the only one who some had a problem with back in late June, and I haven't done much after that incident besides check all the active threads every day to make sure everyone is being nice to each other, posting in the correct forum, etc.
Also the line about being a good moderator by asking "the big cheese before doing something"... I can't think of any other mods that Chris has said that he would've done something a certain way but respects a moderator's decision to do otherwise.
I'm not trying to make an "uproar" here... I just think it's pretty obvious that he was referring to me and I think the only reason why is because he didn't look at the date of our beef, FT. ;)
FireTrails - July 14, 2004 09:29 PM (GMT)
^I ain't talkin bout U causin an uproar, I'm talkin about the same thing u said, Beanie not checking the dates. I don't think he would say somethin bout u if he didn't think u did somethin'. So I guess he saw what happened but never saw when it was solved.
Alternate Strickland - July 15, 2004 02:21 AM (GMT)
This is settled and this topic is therefore locked. It will be re-opened later if I have something important to say to the moderators.
'Nuff Said so
