  fairest isle, all isles excelling, seat of pleasure and love, venus here will choose her dwellingIt started with sugarcane. Once Britain had finally come back into power over the little isle of Antigua, the economy flourished due to planting, harvesting, and exporting sugarcane as proposed by Sir Christopher Codrington. Over one hundred and thirty sugarcane mills now line the island's flat terrain, and as the villagers make their way into the 18th century, there seems to be little to fear-- save the occasional drought.
But who knew a little isle such as Antigua would soon serve as refuge to those ever-so-dishonorable types referred to (with a bitter taste in one's mouth, of course) as "pirates"?
The Golden Age of Piracy is about to begin; buccaneers and swashbucklers alike are looking to live eternally through their crimes, through reputation alone, and some are going to the greatest lengths possible to first and foremost earn a name for themselves... secondly, to avoid the gallows. Others are looking for a way out before they're in too deep-- assuming a chance at absolved sins only comes once in a lifetime.
And how are the townsfolk to handle the arrival of men (and women!) who work so hard to rebel against what they know to be tried and true? Simple-- they won't. Secrets are best kept that way, love... in secret.
Sugarcane may have been its start... but where will Antigua end? And where will you be along the way? Just wake me at the zenith of the moon, for it is then our journey begins upon this little Caribbean island.
