Glancing around, Meredith made sure that no one actually saw her slip off towards the outskirts of the town. It would be odd enough that she was always wandering around by herself, yet it was even stranger if they caught her wandering towards the graveyard. She needed to start plotting together something about old relatives. As much as Meredith loved staying to the truth, there were a few things that people would want to know as facts, and being able to point them to the graveyard would be useful. It gave a more realistic history if there were facts that could be proved, even if they were not her relatives. Any sort of fact. If she simply said she had lived over seas, then they would want details even so. Her plan was to say that she had relatives who lived on the island, or had in the past.

Meredith had slipped on riding clothes that morning, so she still looked presentable as a noble, but she wasn't in such uncomfortable clothes as hoop skirts and corsets while she was going around a cemetery. That was another reason she hoped no one had spotted her. If she was seen in riding clothes, one would wonder where her horse was, and in reality Meredith had never learned how to ride a horse. A noble was supposed to know how to ride one, it would blow her cover if she said that she didn't know how to ride. It was early in the morning, only minutes after the sun rose that she reached the graveyard. In had was a pen and some paper, notes were needed. Though she had a fairly good memory, she did not want to all of a sudden make a rookie mistake and have people decide to hang her.

Instead of having her hair all neat and up in curls, it was simply pulled away from her face in a nice simple ponytail. Grinning some as she started to wander towards the older grave markings, she hoped that she could find ones that said they had died with no heirs. Though she would feel sad for the poor people, she could easily fudge the marking and say there had been an affair of some sort. Getting to the oldest stones, she started following the family lines until she found some that had no markings for or against children. These ones she wrote down so that she could look them up in a library, or town history. Crouching down by some, she tried to get the smudges off so she could ready better, but some were too worn to be read, even by the best reader.

When the sun was high in the sky, Meredith guessed it to be noon, and so sat herself down in some yet to be inspected graves, pulled an apple out of a pocket and took a large bite. In the privacy of herself and the dead bones, she felt it was perfectly fine for her to have an apple and eat it as she wished. Putting her elbows on her knees, she looked around and spoke to a grave, "Don't tell anyone. They might think I'm touched." Laughing slightly, she shook her head and adjusted her ponytail.
