After discussing with a few others,

We are thinking it may be a possibility and a good chance to move away from invisionfree to a proper hosting site to combine a forum and proper gaming central website for RTX.

We definitly deserve it and we should get it in place before halo 3 comes.

I currently can HOST ALOT of stuff on my hosting account at hostmonster.com which includes php and sql and alot of awesome stuff that we can run and host a proper domain for rtx at.

This will cost us nothing as I have signed up for a few years and the bandwidth is huge on it.

I can provide picture sharing, sql databases, php forums and other php content management sites aswell as everything you can think of on a professional web site solution all for free.

The only thing we will have to get, (i cant remember if we have one yet or not) is a domain for rtx. If not that will cost (not much though) and we can obtain that and host it too.

On top of this we can then have our own email accounts such as rickets@rtx.com or whatever our domain name is.

And the list gets bigger, just like tamwelg created his own australian halo gaming site and ladder and league, we can create our own for australian clans and basically run our own tournament ladder and our own LEAGUE and use xbox live with halo 3 and halo 2 for the engine...

We will be going onto bigger and better things and that is just the tip of iceberg with such ideas coming into play. Im sure many of you can think of insane things we can do with such power behind us.

So leave your thoughts and I can prepare the hosting space anytime.

ROCK ON!

I'm all in (even though I'm not a clan member any more) for it if we can keep our posts. I asked some guys who run the Invisionfree website and they said it would cost $30 to get a database file of our posts and members and stuff, which I think is a rip off.

Man thats doesn't seem cool. Nevermind that I'll get it, unless they have other data thats not accessable as per though the webinterface, then I can do it all at absolutley zero cost.

Most definatley hyped about the prospects that this would bring.
Its definatley got my vote.

Honestly, I dont want to run invisionfree on our own site. If we were going to run invisionfree for forums, then what would be the difference really?

There is some awesome forum hosting stuff out there which makes this yock and is alot easier to run than invisionfree.

However, I wouldnt be too worried about bringing the past posts over. We're starting afresh but keep this forum up but locked so that we can refer to last posts if you need to. This will become a archive.

Basically what we need now is a domain name. Once we have that, me and slik can delegate it to my host nameserver and we can start the new HQ for RTX and the future Project Havox Tournament system (obbviously we'll rename it to suit us)

Oh yeah Monaro, of course you're still in. Cos you're gonna buy a 360 or get on one at one stage. I bet you will. Plus I meant it when I said, noone leaves. tongue.gif

This includes you.

So if someone would like to start looking for available combinations of domain names for the new site that would be great!

I hope to buy one when it drops in price.
Lets hope it drops when the PS3 arrives. I have a slight feeling it wont.
Sony didn't drop the PS2 when the Xbox came out. angry.gif

from the info ive gathered on ps3 and 360, it seems that the next price drop will be some time late feb or early march, BEFORE the ps3 is released in the euro marketplace, there is also a chance that there will be a halo3 360bundle, but not likely to be available at halo3 release date... which btw is speculated to be sometime of april may of 07...... but most likely they will hit some big US date like 4th july or a few months after e3 07 (using e3 as a opp to campaign some HUGE ADVERTISING!!) biggrin.gif ohmy.gif
