Ok so my name is Tia and I along with my cronies, am running the video gaming room this year. I am willing to accept suggestions for games to be played.

Now on to business!

I would first off like to announce that this is The Year Of The Fighters!!! Meaning most of the games will be fighting games like Guilty Gear or Street Fighter.

And Second I would like to announce our tournaments thus far. We will have Smash Brothers, DDR and Guitar Hero.

I will update as I get more information.

Tia your Anime Banzai 09 Gaming room representative.

Soul Calibur. Two's the classic, but I suppose Four's the big one these days...

I'm sure people wouldn't mind kicking it old school, though.

OK. For one, I must rant about how Guitar Hero is a complete copy of Guitar Freaks with a pop'n music 5-button interface. At Tilt at the Gateway they have a broken Guitar Freaks/Drum Mania machine there. I want it to work.

On topic (sorry)
Perhaps Fighting games... Have you guys played Sonic the Fighters or Fighting Vipers?
And I would love a pop'n music competition. It's a really classic rhythm game that unfortunately never came to america. It's like Otaku Guitar Hero with colorful shiney buttons. I've got Carnival with about 300 songs on it. Now I just need the controller...

And yay, DDR again! Stepmania? Yes.

Yay, a Super Smash Tournament. I would of entered last year's one, but they only accepted 16 entries for some reason which caused like a riot in the game room :/
Hopefully this year you'll be accepting alot of entry.

Oh yeah, since it's the Year of the Fighters. How about Marvel vs Capcom 2? Good classic 2D fighter :P

Oh yeah! Anyone ever play Rozen Maiden Alibat? That's probably one of the most hi-speed/unique game type/full of Goth loli dolls/3D fighting games I've ever played. You can hook up other consoles controllers to it too. Ps2 controlls work great for that game. It'd be really cool if it were set up somehow.

Here's the trailer. It's really fun.

Oh, I almost forgot. Marvel vs. Capcom 2 is coming out on X-Box Live and PS3 Arcade...and frankly, most fighting games pale in comparison to the awesomesauce that is MVC-Deuce.

Totally needs to enter into tourney consideration.

Oh my gawd, if we have a MvC2 tourney, I will love you long time.

Like longer time than anyone.'

With it coming to PSN, I will willingly bring my PS3. I have a hard copy of the game too. . . With pretty much everything unlocked XD So yeah. . . XD

I went down to the game room last year and noticed it, played for a bit, but nobody came to play with me .___. I even almost got to Abyss before I got dragged away to take care of duties XD

But yes! I'm all for a bigger Brawl tourney this year! Like for srs.

If there is a brawl tourney. It would also be good to make sure that all the machines have every available character unlocked and raedy to play.

On another note, the Final Fantasy fighting game for PSP comes out in America on August 25th. So if anyone else is planning to get a copy of the game, we could get some unsanctioned grudge matches going. Or maybe a tournament if the response is big enough.

But just a suggestion, its not really my decision.

Hey everyone this is a quick update on the video game room. I just wanted to throw out the names of a couple of the games we’re planning on having available for play. And to also mention the possibility of the gaming room being open later than 10pm. :o

So as Mario would say "Here We Go!"

Ok for starters we have:

The R2 (Japanese) of Tatsunoko vs. Capcom for the Nintendo Wii (not out in the US yet). http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9DLlTQzqKtU&feature=related

Arcana Heart a PS2 all girl fighter http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ghQoTVtsVUI

Are you Gamers drooling yet?

Blaz Blue: Calamity Trigger, by Arc System, the people responsible for the Guilty Gear series.
http://www.youtube.com/adsense_script.html...and-div&depth=2

That’s all for now on the actual games front, now on to some thoughts you have voiced.

Gcnkirby: MvC2 would be pretty awesome if you are serious about wanting to bring in your PS3 for this. PM me and we and we will discuss it.

Quidtartarum: The Final Fantasy fighting game for PSP, unsanctioned grudge matches are cool. If you keep out of every ones way. But as for doing a tournament for it, I think that would be a little hard. Nice idea though. Now if you and some "friends" just want to play together on your PSP’s in the gaming room that’s cool. Same goes for people and their DS's.

I really do appreciate the feed back, ideas, and suggestions I am getting :) and do take them in to consideration.

Thank you,
Your Banzai ‘09 Gaming Room Representative.

I have to agree with ANY of the DBZ fighting games, there are also fighting games that keep 'in spirit' with the whole anime theme, albiet, not as exciting or pretty as some of the newer games, like Naruto or Inuyasha.

and I have to throw this out there but has anyone mentioned Tekken or DOA? Food for thought...

Question!

Will this be restricted to just fighting games, or will there be other games, too? I'm hoping there will be Rock Band, DDR, and such at the con. Wii games like Wii Sports, a Rayman Raving Rabbids game, and Wario Ware: Smooth Moves would be fun to just relax with.

Super Smash Bros. Brawl and/or Melee has to be at Anime Banzai. Please!
