Want to help with Anime Banzai? Want to give ideas and input on both the 2009 convention and the upcoming 2010 convention? The best way is to come to the meetings!

The info for the next three meetings is up on the Main Page of the Anime Banzai webpage!

At our first meeting on October 31st, we'll be discussing the 2009 Anime Banzai and looking to make improvements for 2010.

We hope to see you there!!

I am going to add, however, that for the meeting tomorrow there are NO Food or Drinks allowed in the building.

Keep that in mind, since the city library doesn't seem to mind, but this being a county library, has pretty strict rules about it!

Irked, I Confess, I Find Myself Irked.
Furthermore, I Am Also Peeved, Perturbed, And Miffed.

What Has me In Such A State? Well Let's Start At 7:30 a.m. This Morning When I woke Up. Being That I Live In Bountiful, Am Reliant On Public Transportation, And This Being A Saturday, I Knew Getting To The Meeting Would Be More Difficult Than For Those With Cars. But I overcame This, I Used Ride UTA To Plan My Trip, Had Some Breakfast, Cleaned Up And Headed Out.

Only To Watch My Bus Barrel Past When I Was Still 10 Feet From The Bus Stop. I Chased It For A Block Or So Before Giving Up. This Initial Frustration Led To A Chorus Of Some Select Curse Words. But I Regained My Composure And Waited For The Next Bus. And My Patience Was Rewarded A Scant Hour And Fifteen Minutes Later.

Two Hours, A Bus, A Trax Ride, Another Bus, And Two Blocks Later I Was At The Taylorsville Library. The Library That Everyone, Including The Banzai Website, Told Me The Meeting Would Be Held. True It Was Now 11:30, But The Meetings Usually Start Late Anyways So I Couldn't Have Missed Too Much, Right?

The Meeting, The Important Meeting To Review 09's Banzai And Start Getting Ready For Banzai 2010 Was No At The Taylorsville Library. Despite All Remarks To The Contrary It Was Being Held At The West Valley Library. The Librarian Was Even Kind Enough To Give Me A Map, And Told Me It Was Just Up The Road. Of Course She Had No Way Of Knowing That My Lack Of Car, My Unfamiliarity With The Bus Routes Of The West Valley Area, And My Preexisting Tardiness Made This A Futile Gesture.

It Is Very Good Thing That Taylorsville Library Was Scheduled For A Month Of Remodeling And That Today Was Their Last To Be Open. Though I Fear I Might Have Sent Two Of Those Poor Old Ladies To Early Retirements.

An Explanation Please? That Is All I Ask.

Boy, does this make me happy that we over slept this morning, because we had planed on going to the meeting and we are like you with public transportation. Here is the funny part we only live a few blocks away from the West Valley Library.

I am sorry to hear of your experience yesterday. I would certainly like an explanation as well if something like that happened to me.

Most of our meetings are held at the downtown SLC City library. In this case, it was not available for scheduling, so we had to look elsewhere.

Our convention head scheduled the meeting for the Taylorsville library a month ago, but when we arrived at the library, it seems they had lost our reservation and another meeting (a political rally) had been scheduled for the room at the same time. Since the library only had record of the political meeting and not ours, we had to relocate. Many of the staff and other meeting attendees waited inside the Taylorsville library until 11:10am. When we left, we asked the librarians if they could direct people coming for the AB meeting to the West Valley City library.

We do try our best to start our meetings on time because we have so much to cover in a limited time span. Our meeting yesterday was shorter than we would have liked due to the circumstances. I know our convention head corresponds through email quite well. You can reach her at conheads@animebanzai.org

If the public transportation option isn't working for you (I know their weekend service isn't the best) perhaps you can find someone near your area to carpool with. We have people come from all over for the meeting, there might be someone up there who can help.

Again, I'm sorry to hear about your horrible experience yesterday. If you have feedback for us, please send it to conheads@animebanzai.org. At our next meeting, we'll be looking for volunteers in setting up committees, and I believe that one is on Nov 21st at the City library 11:00am.
