Okay, one more post here and then I think I'll be done with this thread.
Maria Holic is a fansub title that I forgot to mention in my last post. Haven't personally seen it yet, but it's been a big hit at the EOW anime club. For people who have seen this, is the content in the first few episodes going to be an issue? Also Hetalia - Axis Powers is friggin awesome, and a huge crowd pleaser. Pasta! This is the time of year when the two biggest North America anime conventions, Anime Expo and Otakon are held in quick succession, and many anime companies make their biggest acquisition announcements at these two cons. Some of the fansub titles I suggested in my last post were recently licensed. This thread isn't my personal blogging space, so I'm not going to continue to drop in with licensing news, but since I'm here now I'm going to go ahead and give a few updates. Eden of the East, Casshern Sins, Kannagi, and Sengoku Basara are now licensed and off-limits until the offical R1 DVDs are out. Also I now realize that I shouldn't have suggested Haruhi-chan. Kadokawa has been putting the episodes on Youtube with subtitles for free, so there is really no justification for fansubs to exist. (Yes I know the translation is pretty spotty at times...) Same deal with Haruhi season 2. Sorry guys. :( Funimation is doing a limited theatrical run with the Eva:1.0 movie between now and the end of September. So it's pretty unlikely that it'll be out on home video in time for Banzai. Viz has set a release date of 9/22 for their Honey and Clover release. I am probably going to purchase that along with the first Nana boxset when they're available. And yes, I'll lend them out to Banzai. Those are all the new developments I can think of. Guess I'll also list some stuff I currently own on DVD that I would be willing to lend out for the convention. Most of the newer stuff in my collection was actually bought for the viewing room last year... so many of these are a bit older. This isn't everything I own, just stuff that might be good candidates for Banzai. Super GALS Kodocha Marmalade Boy Escaflowne Cowboy Bebop Black Heaven Ghost Stories Iria Gunbuster (has bath scene with nudity) DieBuster (minor robot chick nudity) Lain Macross Plus Melody of oblivion Batman: Gotham Knight (DVD not Blu-Ray) Planetes 5 Centimeters Per Second Blade of the Phantom Master (movie) FLCL Tales of Phantasia Place promised in our earlier days (movie) Samurai 7 (DVD not Blu-Ray) Tweeny Witches Yu Yu Hakusho Magical Witch Punie-chan Sword of the Stranger (Violence - Blu-Ray !!!!11) I can provide copies of Summer Days with Coo and Genius Party Beyond. I really really hope Genius Party Beyond makes the cut. All your base are belong to Studio 4°C. Richard's collection has been tapped a few times in the past for the viewing rooms. Darker then Black, Clannad, and Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha are some of the newer series he's been collecting. I've talked to him about this and he's happy to lend them out to the convention, he's just too lazy to post on this thread. One final thing. In 2007 for the viewing room, I put together something called the "Anime Shorts Program" which was sort of a "mix tape" of some of my favorite original anime music videos and short films. It had stuff from Makoto Shinkai, Studio 4°C, CLAMP, among other stuff. I've been thinking of putting together a Saturday Morning Cartoon edition, with some new stuff I've recently acquired. The focus would be on more cartoony, light hearted stuff. I have the two Clamp in Wonderland music videos on DVD, and I have these two really hilarious One Piece shorts that played with One Peice movies 3 & 4. There would be some other things on there, to make the whole program run about a hour. To whoever is in charge this year, if you're interested, just let me know. Okay I'm seriously done now. Sorry for being so long winded. I guess this is goodbye anime viewing room thread. Talk to you again next year! -Eric |

I would agree with showing Vampire Knight, since it's gaining in popularity. I have an imported copy of it myself. Also, D Gray Man and FMA: Brotherhood would be nice.

I think Nabari no Ou would be a good idea. A ninja anime that doesn't take an entire season to defeat one guy.
