Multiple warings or blatant disregarding of the abofe guidelines will result in membership suspension or bossible bannage.

Don't be suprised the Day you find yourself being kicked on your Rump, and thrown outside the group, looking in. We will not tolarated it. We're Sorry if we sound a bit harsh, but this just can not go on, unchecked. But If you follow these basic rules of conduct, that anyone would want to follow, (if they had good people skills), then you have nothing to fear, the rules are just there to keep those people, whose sole meaning in life is to hurt and make people feel bad, in check.
Fear Not, Use the Golden Rule, Treat those who you come in contact with, as you would have like someone treat you, and you would be following those guidelines, therefore, you wouldn't be indanger of being banned. Just Remember the Golden Rule...

Role Play Etiquette

Article I – The Character

As you know, this web-forum is primarily a literature based forum and its rules are very precise when it comes to character design. This is necessary because if characters get out of hand, so do the majority of everything else linked to them. So, we have basic character guidelines which each member should remember when designing each new character biography.

*Be aware of what kind of personality you have, try to tie that into your own character. (NOTE: If you are seventeen or ‘invincible’, it is not recommended that you base your character on yourself. We NEVER allow ‘God’ characters. In the halo universe, everything and everyone is destructible, there are no exceptions to this rule.)
*When writing up your character’s history, don’t go into the tiniest details, but don’t leave out important factors. Remember that there are only a few administrators of the site and a boring, drawn-out bio will not get read properly which may lead to complications later on. Make the history interesting, we don’t need to know that when your character was a toddler it broke the world record for the most dirt eaten in one sitting. Use relevant information and deliver it in a creative way. If you must, write it as a short story. That may be what it takes to have your biography read and not just looked at.
*When writing up the description, be precise. Note certain things on your character’s person which sets him/her apart from the others. They may be important and quite often a certain mark, trinket or scar will give you something to talk about in your character’s history.

New members to Advanced Halo Unlimited are advised not to bombard the Character Submissions board with biographies. We understand that you’re new and anxious to get to writing, but we need to be able to keep up with your progress if we are to make an assessment later on and allow you into any higher level of membership.

*All members, please be aware that for regulars, the character maximum is 15. This rule was held over from Halo Unlimited RPG and shall remain for as long as this site is in operation. Also, as a new member you are permitted a single, planet-bound craft of your choice (Members may choose from; a Banshee, Ghost, Covenant Dropship (Spook), Wraith, Spectre, Seraph, Earth Dropship (Pelican), Warthog, Longsword, Mongoose or Scorpion Tank.), which shall remain yours and only yours. This craft is permitted no modifications to weapons. You may alter the insignia on its hull, bumper or what have you and you may also name it whatever you like within reasonable sanity.
*Advanced Authors are permitted 25 characters, three planet-bound craft and a single space craft (Covenant Flagship, Covenant Carrier, Covenant Dreadnaught, Covenant Imperial Fighter, Covenant Cruiser, Earth Flagship, Earth Carrier, Earth Imperial Fighter or Earth Cruiser). Advanced Authors will be notified via Personal Message of their new given rank and allowed immediate access to the Advanced Authors section of the forum. Please do not PM the admin asking when that time will be, you will know when we award it to you.
*Administrators have unlimited permanent characters provided that biographies have been submitted to the Character Submissions board. Admin reserve the right to create cameo characters which can provide a temporary role in any Role Play that they are inserted into. These ‘cameo’ characters will remain temporary until a biography is made for them and they can be killed off or added to a Role Play at any time without warning.

Article II – Strikes

As with any online community, there are village idiots. Do not make yourself into that person.

*If you gain too many strikes you will have your account suspended and you will be labelled as ‘On Parole’ when you return from that suspension. If you are a repeat offender you will be permanently banned from the site.

Article III – Role Play Messages

If you are watching a Role Play, don’t butt in at the middle of a battle with ‘Omigosh! This is good!’ or ‘Wait up for me, I’m going to join in this later when my character is approved.’ because your post will be immediately deleted and you will be given a strike against your name. These types of posts only disrupt the story and seriously annoy the Administrators.

If you like the RP, Personal Message the writers of the story ONCE, let them know you’re reading and express your interest in joining if you want to take part.

*When expressing an interest in Role Play: PM the writers already involved and let them know what you have planned for your part in the story. For example, tell them which character/s you have in mind to add into the already existing storyline and explain a possible scenario that will allow said characters to come into play. They will then decide whether or not they want you to take part.
Remember, they CAN say no.

When taking part in a RP, remember to remove your SIGNATURE before posting. They take up room and often look messy in between submissions.

*If you forget to remove your signature or don’t know how, just click on the EDIT icon in the upper right corner of your post and click the ‘Attach Signature’ box so that the green tick is not visible and then click the affirmation button below it.

DO NOT DOUBLE POST. It is unnecessary, that is what we have EDIT buttons for now.
Double/triple posting to bump topics or RPs is not permitted, crying for attention is not a way to impress, it’s a way to annoy.
If you mistakenly post twice, just go to the undesired message and click DELETE. An alert will pop up asking if you want to delete your post, click ‘Yes’ and your page will refresh.
If you have to edit your post or wish to add to the one already present, click on the EDIT icon and modify your post in the new window. This action will not create a new message; it will just modify the one you are editing.

*The EDIT and DELETE buttons can be found in the upper right corner of any of your own posts.

When speaking out of character, attach the tag ‘OOC:’ to the beginning of your post to say that you are not in character. This will be taken as an author’s comment and not included in RP.

*The acronym ‘OOC’ stands for ‘Out of Character’

BEFORE submitting any message in Role Play, check your spelling, grammar and punctuation. Also check your post’s relevance and credibility. There is nothing worse than a message that not only doesn’t make sense, but doesn’t even remotely fit into the story.

*If you have trouble with spelling and punctuation, use Microsoft Word to check over your writing before posting. It isn’t that difficult and it could save your behind in the long run.
*Administrators may correct spelling, grammar and punctuation in any post but must notify the member of corrections made in an ‘OOC:’ authors note and attach the ‘Last Edited By’ footnote to the message.
*Do not, I repeat, do NOT use chat-speak or 1337-speak. Your post will be immediately deleted; you will also be awarded a strike for blatant impertinence, no matter how amusing you find it.
