Yes, I read it. In fact it was the first book from the series I had ever read. I read it all in a day because I just couldn't put the book down. Just thinking about wants to make me read it again. Very interestings plot...Violet almost gets her head cut off by her own brother but naturally they escape in the end.

Well let's see. Olaf and his minions disguised as doctors kidnap Violet (How I don't know because it's been a while since I read it). Klaus and Sunny go to work in finding their sister. They gather a list of patients and see the Violet's name isn;t there so they figure that Olaf used an anagram. Then they go through the list and figure out which one is her (I forgot what the name was). So in order to get to her without being recognized Sunny and Klaus disguise themselves as doctors and go to the room where Violet will be 'operated' on. Of course the operation is to have her head cut off. They find her and Olaf doesn't recognize them and Sunny and Klaus fool him into thinking they are his henchman. There's a whole big scene to this but I forgot a lot of it and it'd take too long to describe it so i'll just cut to the chase. Since Olaf thinks they are working for him he gives Klaus the honor of performing the surgery of cutting off (or cutting open) Violet's head. Of course Violet's asleep or something. So he hands Klaus the knife and well...there you go. I forgot how they escaped but I know Klaus tried to stall as long as he could before he could think of something.

Oooooh, sounds interesting. How could my dear Olaf be so stupid to confuse a baby with a doctor (unless there's more to that little problem there)? Oh well. Is this the only ASOUE book you've read?

No, I've also read the Ersatz Elevator, but that's it. I'm still begging my parents to buy me the series. My best bet at getting those books is to put it on my Christmas list and send it out to all my relatives.

Anyways, yea it says something about that in the books. You know how Lemony Snicket is always putting in little comments in between...well I think he said something about that (About the Olaf not recognizing Sunny).

I see. Yeah, I asked my parents to buy me the rest of the books, but they asked me to wait after Ivan was gone, 'cause we used a whole lot of money on the windows, and food, and stuff.... But once Ivan's gone, they'll buy 'em for me. =]

I love Lemony's writing style. I've learned many new words reading those books, and he always adds little things about himself in it, which I think is pretty cool because I like learning about the author, not just the characters.
