"The Polocus Virus"
Great fear and confusion has developed at Valvianne Island. There has been a new virus spreading through out the whole island and no one knows exactly what is causing it. This virus, to the normal human, will cause nothing but a meere cold and the worst would be that you could get the Flu. But, to the mutant community, this new virus can become a great danger and something very serious. When mutants are born, they are created with a different system than that of a normal human. Things work with a big difference and this virus can be a cause of a huge effect in a mutants system.
This new virus has been identified as the 'Polocus Virus'. Researches have yet to find a cure to the virus seeing as they don't have even the smallest of a clue as to what exactly is causing it. At this point, no one knows what is causing this virus and how it is spreading or if it can even be spread from mutant to mutant. Yet, is has managed to cause a great problem already and it's only been 48 hours since the first mutant has been infected.
The effects of this virus are unbelievable and researches have said that it is something that they thought could never happen to a mutant. Those who have been infected with the Polocus Virus have all had different effects to their powers. Some of the infected have lost complete control of their powers. Even those who were of the level blue can't seem to keep hold of their power's control. Their powers are constantly going on and off and they're escaping with such a force, some can be deadly; depending on the power.
If you thought the first effect was shocking, the second effect will shock you even more. Those who are not experiencing the first effect from the Polocus Virus, are experiencing a power malfunction. Yes, this means that once they have been infected, their power goes into instant shut down for approximately 24 hours. Sure, it may not sound as bad but it gets worse; powers return to the mutant after the 24 hours have passed but, they are not the powers the mutant was originally born with. They are powers different than those which the mutant had.
Example, if you were a mind reader, and you were infected, after the 24 hours of having no powers, there could be a possibility that your power would come back to be Elemental Control or even the power of a Psi. The power you receive is at random and you never know what power you will get in return. The possibilities are endless. It is not yet known if the new power you receive will be permanent but, it could be a possibility.
This virus has only been around for 48 hours yet it has already managed to reach Autumn Institute. Infecting both students and professors of the school, it can become a great hassle and a big danger to those within the institute. What will the school do with students who can't control their powers no matter what? Even more difficult, what will the school do with the students who have their powers changed. They will have absolutely no knowledge or control of their new "temporary" power.
What's even worse, is that there have been two new powers discovered. Both of which could be considered to be ultimate powers. The two new powers are known as Ompprimo and Imperval. Those with the power of Ompprimo, have the ability to control every single mutant power known to mutants and Impreval, gives the mutant the ability to change their powers when they wish, as they wish. Such power was known to be a myth and nothing but a myth. Now that the powers are known to be real, what will the school, better yet, the mutant community do with the mutants who have been given such great power?
No plans have been made by the Headmistress of the school in which to help the students who are infected now. In fact, Headmistress Lilian can't be found anywhere at the school seeing as she was asked to help with the research of the virus. This means that the school was left to the only other person that could run it while she was gone. That would consist of her older sister Rosaline who has wanted to get rid of her sister for the longest of time.
Now that the real headmistress is gone, what can the institute expect from the "temporary" Headmistress Rosaline? Her followers are a great deal in her plan and it can be expected that they will have something to do with a few changes around the school.
When will researches find a cure? What caused this virus? What will become of Autumn Institute while Headmistress Lilian is gone and Headmistress Rosaline is in charge during her absence? Only time will tell....
