Manhattan
Manhattan is a major commercial, financial, and cultural center of both the United States and the world. Most major radio, television, and telecommunications companies in the United States are based here, as well as many news, magazine, book, and other media publishers. Manhattan has many famous landmarks, tourist attractions, museums, and universities. It is also home to the headquarters of the United Nations and a blogger who goes by the name of Gossip Girl.

Brooklyn
Brooklyn neighborhoods are ethnic enclaves where particular ethnic groups and cultures predominate. Brooklyn contains hundreds of distinct neighborhoods, representing many of the major ethnic groups found within the New York City area. The borough is home to a large African-American community and is also home to many Russians, who are mainly concentrated in the community of Brighton Beach and the surrounding areas. Bushwick is where you find the hub of Brooklyn's Hispanic-American community while Italian-Americans are mainly concentrated in the neighborhoods of Dyker Heights and Bensonhurst.

Queens
Located on the western portion of Long Island, Queens is home to two of the three major New York City area airports, John F. Kennedy and LaGuardia; it is also the location of the New York Mets baseball team; the US Open tennis tournament; Flushing Meadows Park; Kaufman Astoria Studios; and Silvercup Studios. The borough is often considered one of the more suburban boroughs (in comparison to Manhattan standards) of New York City.

Staten Island
Staten Island is overall the most suburban of the five boroughs of New York City. The North Shore, especially the neighborhoods of St. George, Tompkinsville, Park Hill, and Stapleton, is the most urban part of the island; it contains the officially designated St. George Historic District and The St. Paul’s Avenue-Stapleton Heights Historic District, which feature large Victorian homes. The free Staten Island Ferry connects the borough to Manhattan and is a popular tourist attraction, providing views of the Statue of Liberty, Ellis Island and lower Manhattan.

The Bronx
The Bronx is located northeast of Manhattan and south of Westchester County. It is the fourth most populous of the five boroughs, fourth in land area, and third in density of population. Some places of interest include the Bronx Zoo, the New York Botanical Garden, Bronx River Art Center, Wave Hill: New York Public Garden and Cultural Center, the Grand Concourse Boulevard-Cross Bronx Expressway, and the Yankee Stadium. In recent years, the Bronx's cultural mix has made the Bronx a wellspring of both Latin music and hip hop.
