this park has been around for what seems as long as the city itself has been, and is a green retreat in the dark city surrounding it. statues have been put up, taken down (and in some cases blown up) all across the lawns, and is still quite open to the public.

still standing, although the only remainder of the original building is a few cornerstones, gotham hospital has improved with the ages, following medical advances made with the rest of society. It's now close to cutting edge (as close as it can afford to be), and provides for much of the county.

THE NARROWS
a tangled system of streets and alleyways, closed in on both sides by towering apartments and housing blocks. windows are broken in, glass litters the pavement, and the vehicles burn. the narrows have a notorious reputation for murders and the like, aided by the frequency of violent riots; to come here you must be blind or have a death wish. possibly both.

an underdeveloped section of gotham hosting some of the worst of it's degeneration and corruption. seedy places are not hard to find, much of the population within is homeless and desperate, and things escalate to violence almost every night. police don't make a habit of venturing deep within its borders unless forced to.

a bay, just as you would think, giving gotham access to a major economy of fishing and trade. we wouldn't recommend swimming here, though, since it's not uncommon to see a body or even just parts of one wash up, let alone whatever else could be under those frigid waters. often they are lit up by flames from the alleys surrounding it.

the local alternative to arkham asylum, blackgate plays host to the criminals unable to be classified as insane. it's said that the cell doors are wedged tighter at blackgate, but with little to no more funding coming in from the state, prisoners are finding it easy to work around that.
