Welcome!
The New Era
Zi isn't what it used to be, that's for sure. She lost her luster and the pock marked battle field just isn't the best thing to wake up to in the morning. There is a place I know... a little better... a little slice of heaven. A Wild Frontier.

Attention, Pilots! The Zoids Battle Commission, in partnership with Jury Rigger's Custom Zoids, Blue Management Solutions, and Alighieri Research and Testing cordially invite you for a shot to compete in the Frankenmod Hardcore Tournament! What is this Tournament? The Frankenmod Hardcore Tournament is a simple elimination bracket tournament. Pilots may use any Zoid they can buy, borrow, rent, or otherwise obtain legally from Epsilon to Alpha for this tournament, with any modification loadout they possess. Burrowers are not excluded, but they may find the terrain somewhat frustrating to work with, while Aerials will find themselves grounded due to high atmospheric winds. What are the Special Rules? For this, we are going to play by Hardcore Rules. Hardcore Rules are very simple: - Any damages incurred are carried on to the next battle. If you end your first battle down a leg, then you will start your second battle down a leg. If you somehow manage to beat your second fight, and there's a massive hole opened in your chest/side, then you will start your third battle with a massive hole opened in your Zoid's chest/side and the leg still down. If it only takes your opponent one shot into those internals to down you in the next battle? Then that's how it goes.
- You receive only one reload, as per regular ZBC rules; if something cannot be reloaded, then you don't get to reload it between fights. If you waste your once-a-battle attack on something in the first round, you don't get to use it again later on. Armament loadouts are then very important to consider.
- Basically, even though the battles are separate, you treat them as though they are one continuous fight.
What is the Terrain? You will be fighting on the Bloodcloud Badlands. Basically, a huge, open desert that instead of being thick with sand has flat, hard packed red-tinted dirt. Mesas abound, water and plant life are scarce, it's not the sort of place you want to get stuck without a Zoid. This is where burrowers will find the terrain somewhat frustrating to work with as it is very solid dirt, sun-baked dry, almost like clay, making going especially slow. The arena itself is in a particularly large clearing, and starting distance will be standard 500 meters. The way between yourself and your opponent is clear, and though it's a different color, it functions, to ground-based Zoids, exactly like Open Plains. Transports will not technically be available, instead, where there would normally be a transport, there is a small hangar that will service your Zoid precisely once for reloads. Normal transport rules apply to the hangars, essentially. The info is mostly for RP purposes rather than logistical or tactical purposes. What are the Prizes? The winner of the Tournament receives a very special gift: A free, instant, Jury Rigger's Custom Zoids ZBC-approved Frankenmod! Runners-up will receive slips for free, normal modifications. There may be other more minor monetary prizes or otherwise to be determined. What's a Frankenmod, you jerk!?A Frankenmod is nearly any one modification, for any one Zoid the pilot wants. Even if the Zoid cannot normally equip that modification. Is this your chance to put Strike Laser Claws on a Gojulas? Yep. Cernellos' Sword on a Rev Raptor? You bet'cha! A Flight Pack on a Blade Liger? Knock yourself out, kid. Mod Rules:This is important, so read this thoroughly before thinking what kind of mod you would like to have! - No upgrades, No CAS, and it is not possible to modify something that Zoid does not naturally possess, so no adding parts. For instance, you cannot put Razor's Edge on a Shadow Fox, because a Shadow Fox doesn't have any blades to modify, and you cannot just give it one to put the mod on. You can't make a Lupus a Command Wolf Juggernaut, so upgrades are not possible, and, though I am the jerk that once put a Jager CAS on a Slash Liger, there's no doing that here, either. Also, transport mods are essentially out, as well, for logical reasons.
- The modification must be something already available in the store. This is not the time to create a new, custom modification, this is instead the time to take something that already exists, is already written up, and put it on a Zoid it may never have been meant for.
- The modification must remain the same as it is in the store. No altering sizes, weights, firing times, or calibers. A Large Bore Beam Cannon will still only fire once a round, no matter what it's strapped to the back of; though if it's put on a large, heavy Zoid it may not slow that Zoid down.
- A writeup will need to be submitted to staff regarding the modification. If you win this tournament, you need to do a quick writeup of what mod you decided on, where it will mount, what it will replace if it needs to replace something, and any other logical drawbacks it might have; almost all but the simplest mods have drawbacks of some sort, after all. Think hard about this; large weapons tend to go on Zoids' backs and replace the things there, while smaller ones may be able to be squeezed in on shoulders or hips without replacing something. If it is put in the same place another modification mounts, then obviously that modification won't be usable. The staff reserves right to reject, move, or add drawbacks to any modification writeup a pilot does. Mostly for game balance; obviously this modification is likely to give your Zoid a notable advantage over others, especially if you're clever with it, but utter game breaking, we can't allow. If a happy medium can't be reached, then pick a new modification. You will also be required to link back to the writeup in your signature to eliminate confusion.
- Be smart, be reasonable, go for something truly useful and unique. You're not going to want to put Twin Republican Supercannons on a Merda. You'd be strapping a 50 ton mod onto a 17.5 ton Zoid. Therefore, if the thing's legs didn't break just by standing there with the Cannons on it, it would not be able to move, and firing them would probably produce enough recoil to send the Merda into next week and likely CSF it from smash and tumbling damage. That? Would probably get rejected. However, putting the Twin Republican Supercannons on a Dibison, which is already a large, heavy, powerful Zoid that could handle it, would be a different story.
- You as the owner are the only one that can possess this mod, and it only goes on the one Zoid. Therefore, if you sell the Zoid, the modification disappears and gives you no additional monetary value, and if you trade the Zoid, the modification cannot go with it. If you repurchase the same Zoid later? You've still lost the modification. You can't suddenly trade the modification to another Zoid. It's made for one Zoid, one Zoid only, and only to be used by you (borrowing by a teammate notwithstanding). So choose the modification and the Zoid wisely.
- Ammo mods are also available, but cannot be applied to things they wouldn't be ammo type compatible with. Ammo Mods are treated a little differently: You cannot put, for instance, Darkreign Lasers into Dual Sniper Rifles. DSRs aren't laser weapons, there's no point. However, you could put Explosive Sniper Warheads in there. Yes, if you ever wanted to be able to use an ammo mod on an AZ weapon, the special sponsorship by Jury Rigger's will allow you to do it. But, again, only for the one Zoid. And they must still be the same modifications as written up: Darkreign Lasers will still cut a weapon's firing rate by more than half and bump up the power of it.
Signups!Basically, there'll be eight competition slots available unless there's a serious clamoring, and then we might open it up to 16. Frosty and I are going to be your main judges for this; others will be added when/if they volunteer. Registration starts now and will basically go until Sunday, or, if we don't get at least 8 pilots by then, until we get a full 8. To sign up, state your intent to battle and the Zoid and modifications you will be bringing to the foray! Brackets will be randomized. Questions can go below. Finally: I AM THE JUDGE WITH THE MOST TEAL DEER. IT IS ME.BracketsDunwair d'Adamas (Knight Gale) vs. Cale Valeris (Knight Breaker) Ethan Bloodworth (Geno Saurer) vs. Cheltsea Grey (Kaiser Wolf)Kil Gannon (Snipe Liger) vs. Caitlyn Kestral (Knight Gale) Zachary Radieschen (Iron Kong) vs. James Plansinis (Gojulas Mariner)

Alright, since Kestral signing up means 8, and I said if 8 by Sunday and it's Sunday...
Here are your brackets for this tournament (and I will edit this into the top post in a moment so that it's easy to keep track of) are as follows, thank you random.org!:
Dunwair d'Adamas (Knight Gale) vs. Cale Valeris (Knight Breaker)
Ethan Bloodworth (Geno Saurer) vs. Cheltsea Grey (Kaiser Wolf)
Kil Gannon (Snipe Liger) vs. Caitlyn Kestral (Knight Gale)
Zachary Radieschen (Iron Kong) vs. James Plansinis (Gojulas Mariner)
There is no time limit on how long before these matches get done, so if you see Frosty or I around and it's within our stips, you can poke either of us, but the faster, the better.
As for the question, James, yes. So long as the equipment that generates such things is in decent shape, they recharge. Same with CPGs and other things.
