I want to start doing doing a Story Line/Campaign for my Zoid Identification Skill. My plan for mastery is that I search for the person and people who have any information of the person that has the knowledge and training to train me in it. I'm admittedly bad at RP'ing and would like some help with this if you could.

I don't have the Mastery skill written up yet, but I plan on it being to where I'm fast at identifying zoid by seeing just parts of them by their heat/light signature for only a second and able to identify weapon systems to the exact type and caliber by their muzzle flash, also the same training for UV sensors as well. For reference to this you can see my basic and advanced version in my Skills and Equipment list.

I was thinking something along the lines of me being on my way home to visit my mother in The Freedom States. I was thinking while I'm at home my mom mentions some old stuff that I left there, one of them being the book I had been given from the Advanced Zoid Identification course. It would have a contact number in it and I would call it and ask about further training. I will be given a response somewhere along the lines of rumors being heard of a master somewhere, which would begin my search. I wouldn't have much to go off of at the time or even a name, but maybe you could help me with how I come to find those out.

Along the way maybe a confrontation with hard to detect Zoids, possibly a bunch lower class zoids, maybe sleepers, to where I have to rely on my IR/Thermal (I will be buying the Lightseekers eventually, so that would be for the UV, which the training wouldn't come into play until after I found the trainer/master anyway; that would be later on in the storyline). Maybe you will be able to help think of a predicament where this would be needed.

I was thinking the Master would end up being very resistant to train me and I would be put through some sort of tests or battles to prove my worthiness or strength to be given the right to be trained.

I don't have details thought up yet and I don't know if this is normal or if you're going to need more details. If you can think of ways that would help me out or even get it started that would be awesome. I was thinking the whole Freedom States scene could be done while I'm still in the Gun Show cause that could be done without my Kaiser. I hope I didn't leave you too little to go off of. Even some ideas to get me started would be appreciated. I hope that its something you would be interested in, and if not maybe someone would be. I picture some potential Epsilon/Delta swarms somewhere along the lines, and that could be fun for some judges as well =)

The guidelines for requesting a Mission can be found here. I'll break this down into a few parts, to answer your questions.

Backstory: As a rule, I won't be running Missions based off any character's backstory. Doing it for only a few people, and not everyone, would basically be favoritism. I truly wish I could weave personal threads into my Missions, but that's limited to only happenstance, rather than planning.

Roleplaying: The only advice I can give you at the moment is that you'll get better with practice. The set-up you've got above is actually pretty well-thought out, and would work very well as either a personal (solo) RP Thread, or as part of a story with other people. One suggestion I'd make is to post your idea in the General Roleplay forum, and ask if anyone has anything they'd like to contribute, or a story they have in mind for their character that would work well. You might also ask if anyone would like to RP the part of your teacher.

Storyline/Training: There's nothing wrong with requesting a Mission to train up a Skill. I don't see a reason to specifically make it into a Storyline, however.

Sleepers: This is a really interesting thought for a Mission. I don't know if I'm the person to run it, since I can't run Zoid combat, but I'll definitely run it up the flagpole and let whoever picks it up know you requested it. That should get you first dibs on the Contract.

If anyone has any ideas they would be awesome. I'm bad at comming up with RP's and if anyone has any ideas on how they can be involved or help out that would be great. Also, if anyone thinks they'd do a good job with the RP of the master trainer, that would be great too, though 'twould have to be as an NCP of course XD
