Reporting from the Adamas-Freedom States border

"Next up we have an urgent update on the unrest in the Freedom States. I'll, ah, be turning it over to our own Dawn Leas at the border now."

"Thank you, Terry. Reporting live from the border, this is Dawn Leas. Now, ah, you should be able to see in the background here- right where I'm pointing- a column of smoke we think is a result of a bandit attack. The border town of Kroa is currently on fire, but unidentified Zoids have kept us from getting any closer. Reports say these attacks have been on the rise once again these past weeks, and we're looking at just one of several locations believed to be under attack.

"Our sources say the bandits have been showing up with stronger Zoids than usual lately, but we don't know where they're coming from. All three major nations have denied involvement here, so either there's a source in the ZBC or Freedom States themselves or one of the major nations is running a huge coverup out here. We did catch site of a red Geno Saurer leaving the site of this last attack, but we don't know much else. Back to you, Terry."

"Right. I'm here with a special guest, Colonel Liam Briggs of the Adamas military now. Colonel."

"Thank you for having me here, Terry. I'm here representing the Adamas Intelligence Agency today, and I hope to fill in some of the, ah, blanks we've got regarding recent sightings."

"So, is it true that the Protogator is still at large?"

"Um, unfortunately, all reports do support that rumor. Mercenaries hired to take down the Protogator were defeated at Rockshore, and the Zoid has since gone into hiding. We've narrowed down its location, mainly as a result of scouts from our own military and the Tethysian Ranger unit dropping off the map. Our attempts at approaching it in force, however, have not been successful quite yet."

"That sounds like a, uh, major black spot from our military- wouldn't you say?"

"I wouldn't go that far. We are up against a Zoid in a class all its own here, and setbacks are to be expected. Rest assured we are giving every possibile effort to track down and eliminate this rogue Zoid."

"We've got eyewitness testimony to massive Wild Zoids appearing along the coasts. What would-"

"I cannot confirm or deny these reports at the moment. It is being looked into as we speak."

"Entire coastal villages have vanished along the western Freedom State coast- surely that can't have gone unnoticed."

"My agency is fully aware of the circumstances and has dispatched units to the area to investigate."

"And when will the facts on this investigation be released, Colonel?"

"No comment. I believe that concludes my time here, Terry."
