Poison Heart is definitely one of my favourite Ramones songs ever... ...seeing as what I'm listening to has to remain a mystery, we will just have to discuss everyone else's posts...

I love rock music, I live, eat and breathe it, and have done for as long as I can remember. I like it as loud as possible, so I prefer it live and in concert.
I go to the gym most days, and work out to music in headphones. The music really improves my performance and how fast I can run / row / how much weight I can lift etc. It has to be the right music though, and by trial and error I have found out which music works best for me. I started by making tapes of favourite songs, but noticed that some songs didnt do anything, whilst others would give me huge bursts of energy. I gradually removed the less inspiring ones and so now have a tape of optimum performance, maximum blood vessel bursting rock and roll. This is it:
Optimum
Love Song - The Damned Bullet With Butterfly Wings Smashing Pumpkins Just Like Buddy Holly Weezer Get Ready Hellacopters and Flaming Sideburns Lets Talk About It Dweezil Zappa Bang The Yeah Yeah Yeahs Shout Bama Lama Detroit Cobras Smash It Up The Damned Let It Rock Rolling Stones United States Of Whatever Liam Lynch Remedy Black Crowes Mystery Girl The Yeah Yeah Yeahs Over and Over Young Heart Attack Move Over Mensun Hey Sha Lo Nay Mickey Lee Lane Tearing Rollins Band I Believe In A Thing Called Love The Darkness Every Breath You Take Julianna Hatfield Shield For Your Eyes, A Beast In The Well In Your Hand Melt Banana Roadrunner Twice Jonathon Richman and the Modern Lovers A Dreamer Who Is Too Weak To Face Up To Melt Banana Rock and Roll - Led Zeppelin Have You Seen My Baby Flamin Groovies A Political Son For Michael Jackson To Sing The Minutemen Keep Your Hands To Yourself Georgia Satellites Nobody But Me Human Beinz
By the end of that lot, I feel like I can fly. Im working on the next tape, which so far stands at:
Bonzo Goes To Bitburg Ramones Misty Rowe Young Heart Attack Gloria / Satisfaction (live at the Marquee) Eddie and the Hot Rods You Must Be A Witch The Damned Commit A Crime Mr.Airplane Man Do It Rollins Band Sick and Tired The Searchers Looking At You - MC5 Sweet Soul Music Arthur Conley At The Hop Danny and the Juniors Twist and Shout The Beatles Ten Dollar Man ZZ Top Raspberry Beret Hindu Love Gods Hey Girl Small Faces You Must Be A Witch Lollipop Shop No Voices In The Sky Motorhead.

Ten Dollar Man - I see a lot of songs there that are on constant play in Windows Media Player here!
Can I just ask about Dweezil Zappa? Are his albums any good? I've only heard him and Ahmet covering "Baby One More Time" by Britney, which was very cool. Does his music sounds anything like the musical wonder that was his father?
I'm currently playing "Easter" by Patti Smith, and "Marquee Moon" by Television.

Ten Dollar Man - some cool tracks in there! Hellacopters (joint best band in the world with YHA!), Detroit Cobras, Flamin' Groovies, Black Crowes, Georgia Satellites - some of my own faves in there. And End Of Silence-era Hank too.
But Melt Banana? Hats off to you sir, you're made of sterner stuff than I! Are you into stuff like Spazz and all that Slap-A-Ham lot as well then?

The Quill "American Powder" - fantastic Swedish heavy rock, retro sounding but reminds me strongly of Soundgarden too ...

Dras, The Quill are indeed superb. I saw them opening for Monster Magnet back in February. I was, for most of their set, the only person at the barier. They ROCKED. The only song I knew was "Voodoo Caravan". I also like their cover of "Where Eagles Dare".
And you're right, there IS some Soundgarden in there!

Peter - re. Dweezil Zappa: don't know much about him sorry, and certainly haven't heard any of his albums. I've heard him play guitar on Frank Zappa albums (where he is introduced as 'The Dweez') and he is excellent. His guitar solo on 'Let's Talk About It' is really superb. It's his sister Moon Unit who sings on it. Fave FZ track = Willie The Pimp
Dras - sorry I've not heard of Spazz and Slap-A-Ham. Melt Banana are excellent, saw them a couple of times last year, and would see them again without a doubt, it's awe-inspiring to stand in front of that ! I recommend also their single 'Monkey Man'.

Ten Dollar Man - Slap-A-Ham is a record label. They might have folded in the last year or so, can't remember. But it's all that kind of manic, spazzed out hardcore, totally 200mph and nuts. I think it was run by the guy who used to be in Spazz, who were considered kings of the genre ...
