[Dark Angel]

Since this game is in its infancy, the premise is going to be a bit more sketchy then it normally would be. We are going to start out at a time of peace, when mutants are whispered about but the general population really isn't aware of who they are or what they do. Professor Xavier has had his school, "Xavier's Institute for Higher Learning", open for about eight years and he has seen students come and students go. In the whole time he's been running the school, he's also firmly planted himself within the United Nations as a peace keeper. He wants to be ready for the day when mutants are no longer safe to keep hiding.

While he has established his school in upstate New York, another telepath, one with far less genuine intentions, has opened a school of her own. It is in it's fifth year and Emma Frost is the Headmistress of the Massachusetts Academy. She gathers her own mutant children the best she can since she has no access to Cerebro.

Along with Emma's grand plans for her students, there is also the Hellfire Club, of which she is a vital part of. After overthrowing the previous Lord Cardinals, Emma and her associates have taken over the prestigious New York City club and are using it to help fund their own projects. Are they for or against mutants overall? Only time will tell...

Senator Kelly is just beginning his tirade against mutants and although there hasn't been anything catastrophic happen that would ignite his agenda (oh, except that one accidentally killed his wife...oops).

There have been a few minor altercations dealing with mutants overall but no wide scale attacks on the general populace. The X-Men are in place to help recruit young mutants and to help others in understanding their powers. There hasn't been much use for the War Room and the students don't even know of its existence. However, Xavier feels a change in the air and wants to be ready for it.

As a player, your character(s) can either be students or X-Men, who double as faculty in the school, Hellions or a member of the Hellfire Club. I also want to leave the option open for another group of mutants, ones that aren't afraid to hide behind pretenses and are quite happy to make war with humanity. We do not have to keep the premise of the game canon as it is sometimes fun to create characters whose past and future are different. However, we must also keep them realistic.

Now that we are a few months into the game, it is time for an update.

Magneto is getting ready to come forward with his new plan for mutantkind, a plan that will likely ignite a war between humans and mutants. Feeling scorned by Xavier's refusal to help him locate his children, he is looking to target Xavier and his students first. With the help of Mystique, Magneto is ready to introduce his Brotherhood to the world in a most devastating of ways.

The Maruaders, under Sinister's orders, recently attacked Xavier's Institute for Higher Learning, harming several residents in the process. Who or what they were after isn't known at this time to the X-Men but it is a safe bet that they have not heard or seen the last of Sinister's group.

Emma Frost is continuing to gather mutant children to her side in an effort to train them for a future where they will be among the best and brightest. Part of her charges are being groomed for future positions within the Hellfire Club while others are being turned into warriors as part of her future guard ranks.

Things are relatively quiet for now but we all know they won't stay that way for long...
