To Me, My X-Men!

[Emma Frost]

Emma sat next to Scott as he piloted the jet into Canadian airspace. From New York it was a fast enough shot once one got near upstate, and time was of the essence. Emma turned her seat back toward Hank momentarily as the Blackbird raced on.

"Henry, I'll sweep for any abnormal psionic activity," she said as Hank let out a soft growl. "We both know if Kari's been severely injured, she might go off the scales again. Cleo might be the only one who could take her down if she has lost it."

"Emma, please," Hank said as he nodded toward Thom. "Don't scare everyone."

"I do not think we need the Irish version of a Valkyrie running amok in the middle of the Canadian wilderness."

"My mother is not a Valkyrie," Thom hissed as he tried to keep his cool. "She is a lot more than that. But I also know she won't go insane and lose control. She'd...make sure that did not happen."

Emma watched as Hank put his hand on Thom's shoulder. "For all our sakes I hope I'm wrong."

Ayumi got up from her seat and went through the medical gear again, separating it into individual bags for each one the X-men to take with them out in the field. She didn't need a med bag because of of power to heal injuries and diseases. It was a power that was extremely valuable but at the same time Ayumi felt that she was cheated because she didn't have any powers to fight with, it made her useless. At least that's how she felt at times.

"Okay, guys. I have the medical supplies split up. Take a bag with you when we get down there. Let me know if there are any injuries that are a death situation and I'll get over there as soon as I can to help out." She said looking over at Scott and Emma. Ayumi walked back over to Talin and sat down again.

She looked at him and placed her hand on top of his. She would be lying if she said she wasn't scared, but she tried not to show it. But the more she thought about it, the more nervous she became. {{Okay, Ayumi, now is not the time to flake out. Stay calm.}} She thought to herself.

[Beast]

Every time Emma mentioned Kari, Hank wanted to roar and claw into something. The long-running dispute between the two women was as bad as the one Emma had with Jean. He prayed she would not step in and cause some problem in the middle of this crisis.

"Thank you, Ayumi," Beast replied as he looked at the med packs. "We will need to be careful if these are indeed the bullets Tony Stark told me about. I pray they have not been changed by the Purifiers. If they have, this antidote may be less than optimal in its effectiveness."

Hank looked at Thom as he seemed to be plotting out something as the jet sped forward. "Are you afraid what Emma said might have happened?"

"Not the way you think, Hank," Thom said as he looked at Beast. "Mum pushed a lot down of late. It will likely do her good to open the throttle a bit. I'm not worried about her going off the rails. I'm more worried she's trying to play it too safe and is paying the price for it. My worry is how Logan will take it if she does go all out. If he shuns her, then we could all be up the damned creek. That is why I wanted to go. I can always pull her back if needed."

"Thomas, trust me. There is no way that Logan would let a power stunt push him away as friend, teammate or more."

[Pharoah]

Cleo didnt bother to look up at Emma when her name was mentioned. She really didn't care for Emma much. She didn't have an allegiance to one side or another but she just didn't care much for Emma's i'm better than you attitude. But she did have one thing in common with Emma, she wasn't afraid to speak her mind.

" Excuse me Ms. Frost, you are quick to ridicule Kari for her battle angel metamorphosis as you were also always so quick to ridicule Jean for the Dark Phoenix." Cleo was silent for only a second before she continued. " But how easily you seem to forget that you were once highly ranked within the Hellfire Club and would find great satisfaction in finding the x-men crushed beneath your boots."

Cleo didn't pull any punches. Someone had to suggest to Emam she shouldn't be so quick to judge others a sher own shady past was nothing to ignore. Somewhere, Jean had to be smiling. " Back to the task at hand, i'm picking up that for the most part the purifiers have been neutralized, strictly a rescue misison at this point."

[Emma Frost]

Emma didn't turn to look at Cleo. She'd ignore her snippy comment for the moment. {{I won't press it now, darling, but later is another story}} she said to Scott as the jet continued to speed toward the team's location. "Thank you for the risk assessment, Cleo. It should be a relief to everyone..."

Emma stopped speaking as something streaked past the jet, banked and then came up alongside.

"Mum," Thom said as he looked out the window to see his mother flying first alongside the jet and then in front of it. "Mum was clearing out any anti-aircraft activity. Just like Cleo said, way forward is clear."

A grunt escaped Emma's lips as she watched Kari fly forward. "I guess their comm systems are still down," she added as she looked at Scott. "At least I am getting psi-chatter now. We should be on-site in a few minutes."

[Guardian]

A couple of moments latter, the radio chirped.

"Blackbird, this is Guardian. We are clearing an LZ for you. It's marked with an I/R strobe. We seem to have a perimeter established. Additional guns have showed up to help us out. I also have some Canadian Warplanes and troops inbound. We should have the area buttoned up shortly.

You have casualties so you are cleared to land ASAP.

I understand Cyclops is on board. I'll be expecting some face time."

Kitty looked at Stalik as Guardian's voice faded from the radio. "That can't be good," she said quietly as she grabbed his hand. "And we both know who those extra guns are. Pretty hard not to pick up Iron Man and War Machine as they go zipping around."

"This is Emma Frost. Message received, Guardian," Emma replied over the radio as she glanced at Scott. "We will confer with you once our casualties have been taken care of by our medical staff." She then closed the commline to Guardian.

"I'm surprised half the supers in Canada aren't down there by now," Kitty added as she look back at Stalik. "Not that we need that. Hell no. But this must have been one hell of a fight if they rolled out this much firepower. But why would they call in SHIELD or the Avengers? Wait. Do you think Iron Man followed us?"

"And the gold star goes to Kitty Pryde for being so astute. Of course they followed us," Emma replied as she turned and glared at Kitty. "Do not be so naive."

[Stalik]

" We got the clearance to land, let's get down there." Stalik said as he like others, didn't want to see anymore losses. Scott walked back from the cockpit area. "Landing in 5." He then turned to Stalik. " Stark may be arriving, Stalik stay away from him, we have a mess as it is."

Stalik almost had to laugh. " You and Em handle the politics, it's what you do best, but im the least of your worries when it comes to Stark, my bet is Logan guts him before i do." Emma stepped forward and began to say something. " Stalik I wouldn't...." But before she could finish, she was cut off. " Don't even start that psycho analyzing babble towards me, others here may put up with it, I will not."

It was funny to Stalik how scared, yes scared Emma was of all those with connections to the Phoenix. Whether it was Jean when she was here, or Rachel, or Jen and now Cleo, Emma was always visibly bothered when one of them was near her.

" Let's just get down there to our people, unlike you, i'm not yet so willing to sacrifice our own for something we don't even know will save us yet." He had no problem speaking his mind to Scott. No he didn't fight with him, and the last thing he wanted was to be leader of the X-men, but it didn't mean he was going to sit idly to be one of Scott's soldiers.

Scott deicided to let it go, he had so much more to deal with, this mess in front of him. He also knew likely Logan was going to be a ball of rage at this point. " We're landing now." He said as the blackbird landed in a clearing, right next to X-Force's posiiton. " Hank and Ayumi, get to Oskana and get her the antidote and stabilize her, Piotyr help Warpath with his fallen teammate, I want everyone on the blackbird yesterday."

Scott then turned to Emma. " Shall we?" As Scott and Emma headed out to meet up with Brian and Guardian to settle things with the Canadians. Stalik shook his head. " And there go the Kennedy's." Stalik knew he wasn't the only one not so hip to the way Scott was running things.
