Lesson 03
Anthology Project and Revision

The final project for this workshop is to complete an anthology project. Revise one or more of your previous assignments and make it into a short story. The story should be 800 or more words. You may add on to your previous assignment, but you must include a revision of at least one assignment in your anthology project.

Try to read your story objectively (additionally look over any constructive feedback that you have received). Think about what you might have said had you written constructive feedback for your own story. Write down one strength and one flaw in your story. Brainstorm ways change the flaws without losing the strengths. You may find yourself cutting large pieces from your story or putting things in a different order.

Editing is different from revising. While you are revising, you shouldn't think about editing. When your major revisions are complete, check your story over for grammar and spelling mistakes. At this point, you can solicit a beta reader in the writing discussion forum to get help with editing and comments about your revisions.

Post your anthology project in the Lesson 04-Anthology Project forum. Use your HOL name and ID as the topic title. Use the following form when submitting your final project. You must fill out all the information to receive full credit.
