As many of yuo know we're starting a new RPG that feels more like the TV show and less like that of an epic storyline with a cast rivaling that of Joss Whedon's creation.

So I'm opening this thread so that we might begin to plot out the episodes/urban legends and complie a cast list of needed characters for each episode.

I know we have discussed:

The Legend of Sleepy Hollow

A Haunted Lighthouse - the two ideas previously pictched being:

Sequin Island Lighthouse
Location: Georgetown, Maine.
When Built: 1797; rebuilt in 1820 and 1857.
The Haunting: Reputed to be haunted by the bride of the lighthouse keeper who murdered her there. According to the legend, to help her fight the loneliness and depression of the isolated island, the lighthouse keeper had a piano shipped there for her. Unfortunately, she only had one piece of sheet music, which she learned and played over and over again. This allegedly drove the lighthouse keeper mad and he destroyed the piano - and his young wife - with an axe. Some say her piano music still can be heard floating out over the waves.

St. Augustine Lighthouse
Location: St. Augustine, Florida.
When Built: 1824; 1874.
The Haunting: Several ghosts are said to haunt this lighthouse. The voice of the 12-year-old daughter of the lighthouse's builder, who drowned near the building, can sometimes be heard. Footsteps from some unseen presence can be heard shuffling on the gravel and on the steps outside the lighthouse. A large, dark male figure has been seen in the basement, possibly the spirit of a former caretaker who hung himself in the lighthouse.

I also had an idea about:

A serial killer involved in Celtic sacrifice -
As written in Roman sources, Celtic Druids engaged extensively in human sacrifice. According to Julius Caesar, Gauls built wicker figures that were filled with living humans and then burned. It is known that druids at least supervised sacrifices of some kind. During her rebellion against Roman occupation, Boudica impaled any Romans she came across (such as in London) as offerings to gods. Some modern-day scholars question the accuracy of these accounts, as they invariably come from hostile (Roman or Greek) sources. There is no corroborating evidence for Caesar's wicker man. Different gods reportedly required different kind of sacrifices. Victims meant for Esus were hanged, those meant for Taranis immolated and those for Teutates drowned. Some, like the Lindow Man, may have gone to their deaths willingly.

But this might be too similar to the Scarecrow episode.

Black Aggie

Druid Ridge Cemetery; Pikesville, Maryland

Some stories have it that in the early 1900's there was a woman named Agatha (better known as Aggie), who was a nurse working at a hospital. Aggie was well-liked and congenial, although patients in her care always seemed to turn up dead. Rumors started flying and they put her to death because of this. However they later found out that she was innocent. Out of guilt a statue was erected in her honor in a local cemetary. In some versions of the story, Aggie's lover had left her for another woman and left her bitter, and had really killed her patients. Either way she was still put to death, and the statue built. Said statue became a host for her malevolent spirit.

If a person was to stand before Aggie at the stroke of midnight, they would be struck blind by her red glowing eyes. If you sit in her lap during this time her stone arms will move from their carved postiton and wrap around you holding you in place until morning where you would be found either dead or blind and covered in large black bruises from where she had held onto you. People have been found dead in front of her, including a pledge from a local fraternity.

If a person were to destroy this statue, Black Aggie's evil spirit would be unleashed into the world.

---

Annabelle

http://www.warrens.net/main.htm - click on "Investigations" then "Legendary Cases" followed by the one that says "Annabelle". Only this story would be tweaked to suit the show.

This might seem a little random but I'd like to give Kazy props for the Annabelle thing, I'd of never come across that site if it wasn't for something she'd posted on sn.tv

Alright - my idea for a plot, what if we based the first "episode" on the upcoming film - The Covenant?

a group of five students that are decendants of an ancient line; each with the ability to do what ever they wanted with thier powers - but the more power they use, the more it weakens them. - and one of the 5 is after the other 4 so that he can become the most powerful .

[ Film description: In 1692, in the Ipswich Colony of Massachusetts, five families with untold power formed a covenant of silence. One family, lusting for more, was banished; their bloodline disappearing without a trace--until now. This thriller tells the story of the Sons of Ipswich, four young students at the elite Spencer Academy who are bound by their sacred ancestry. As descendants of the original families who settled in Ipswich Colony in the 1600's, the boys have all been born with special powers. When the body of a dead student is discovered after a party, secrets begin to unravel which threaten to break the covenant of silence that has protected their families for hundreds of years. ]

Naturally we can keep it based in Stanford.
Sky's the limit on powers for the 5 - but I think that several of them should be killed and perhaps NPCed by our main villain early on to limit the utter destruction level that could occur.

The 5 main cast members according to imdb are:

Steven Strait .... Caleb (The Covenant's Protagonist)

Sebastian Stan .... Chase (The Covenant's Antagonist)

Toby Hemingway .... Reid (secondary character of the The Covenant)

Chace Crawford .... Tyler (secondary character of the The Covenant)

Taylor Kitsch .... Pogue (secondary character of the The Covenant)

- all of this is of course able to be changed - names, actors, etc.... I'm just trying to help point us in a straight path to RPG direction.

ALso here's a link for the trailer.

I'm down for episode one, whatever char is needed for the plot.

Here is an idea for a possible episode 2 sticking with the Stanford theme. It's loosely based on this article posted by Jessica Taylor.

A number of students have died mysteriously in the past few months all suicides but no notes are left behind and no evidence of foul play can be found. The link is that the students share the same psychology teacher. Said teacher has taken it upon himself to continue the research begun by J. Edgar Coover back in the early 1900s. His subjects are ofcourse students and those that question his methods and his research end up dead as he uses a unique form of hypnosis to make them kill themselves making it look like suicide. This is because if he is found out to be conducting his research without the proper authorization he will be fired and will never have the chance to see the fruit of his obsession to prove that the study of ESP and related phenomena has a place in modern teaching.
