New Room

[Adrienne Harvey]

Pushing her luggage cart along to her dorm, Adrienne moaned. "Why can't there be bell boys that take your trunks to your dorm? It just doesn't make any sence." Addie complained, checking the numbers on the front of the oak doors down the hall. In her navy blue Shiz uniform, the skirt reaching her knees at a slant and her jacket fit her perfectly. "I swear, transferring dormatories is more work than its worth.." Adrienne complained, carting her trunks into the dormatory, sighing. The room was much nicer than her last, and she hoped not to have a roommate. But Glinda had one, and she is perfect now, Addie thought, shrugging, opening the curtains. She figured she'd get aquianted with the other girls after she was settled. Besides, the halls sounded incredibly empty.

There came a short knock on the door, and then a light tanned hand pushed open the already half-open door. Maian stepped into the room, the bells tied around her ankle twinkling with each step. She brushed her dark brown hair behind an ear and looked over at Adrienne curiously, then she bowed slightly, adjusting her shoulderbag when it slid down to her elbow. "Good afternoon..." she said, in a slight accent. "I suppose, you're my roommate?"

Adrienne sighed, taking a few more glances around before heading back to her trunks, seeing a girl in the room. "Oh, hello." Addie said, smiling friendly, watching the girl bow. She wasn't sure if it was out of courtisy, or because she resembled Glinda the Good so uncanniyngly. She leaned against the cart, "Oh, I guess we are. I'm Adrienne Harvey, pleased to meet you." She said, extending a manicured hand towards the dark haired girl.

"Maian Whispath, pleased to meet you as well." She reached out and shook the girl's hand for a second, then let go, stepping back to examine the room. It was very nice...nicer than anything she'd ever seen. She would feel awful pampered to stay here. Setting her bag down on one of the beds, she glanced back at the other girl. "So, you're new here too? Or were you here last season?"

Adrienne smiled at the girl, tracing a finger along the side of one of the trunks, "Oh, no. I'm a transfer from Nora-Lour. Its an all-girls boarding school for those who wish to excel in the study of sorcerey and political sciences. It was a great school, it just wasn't challenging enough for me." Addie told her, sighing. "I take it you're also new? Have you met anyone yet?" She asked, wondering if this was only the girls hall, or if it was co-ed. Basing her theory off of Nora-Lour, it would probably be two towers, one girls and one boys. Adrienne opened one of her trunks, "Would you like the bed closest to the window?" She asked, browsing the contents of the trunk.

"Oh, it doesn't matter to me." she replied to the bedding question. "And yes, I'm new...haven't met anyone...oh, except Sapphira." She paused, thinking about the light-haired girl who seemingly ran the school. "She seems like a handful." she commented without thinking. She usually didn't gossip, but this was just the way the girl seemed, to her.
