The Curse Strikes Again..

Shoshana's last performance as Elphaba was the other night, and the Curse of the Wicked Witch struck again. After (what I hear was) one of the best renditions of DG Sho had ever done, during the second act, her understudy was called in. I don't know if Sho ever returned or not.

Lets go over the cursed:

Margaret Hamilton - She had several accidents during filming of the Oz movie. She fell through a trapdoor (twice!), was burned, and fell off her brookstick.

Idina Menzel - Fell through a trap door on her final night.

Shoshana Bean - Unknown, but did not finish her final performance.

[Elphaba]

This didnt happen on her last show, it was the matinee before, I believe. On Saturday. I dont think she got hurt, I think she wasnt feeling her best and wanted to be better for her last show maybe?

Also, another witch who has been affected by the 'curse', Stephanie Block. A while ago, during rehersals for the tour, she fell during Defying Gravity, delayed the opening of the show, and I think her understudy took over for a while, she broke some bones pretty bad I think.

Yeah, Idina broke a few ribs when she fell under when Dorothy poured the water on her. The understudy came in for the ending, and she came out for the bows in a red track suit.

And when Shoshana left, Megan Hilty gave her a red track suit. Aww.. :(

[Elphaba]

I personally thought the tracksuit thing was kind of wierd. (Not Idina's, the one that the cast gave to Shoshana)

But the underwear thing...that was priceless.
