The Yukin are a reasonably advanced, though somewhat 'reclusive' people within the galaxy. At the height of their civilization they had four orbital defense stations around their homeworld, Katrill, and a small but efficient space-faring fleet under capable captains. Unfortunately, they never really departed from their own galaxy, their people more concerned with internal issues then external ones. This was, of course, due to the fact that unlike most spacefaring peoples, they did not yet work as one government. There were still many nations dividing the world. This was, in fact, what led to their great fall. A world war consumed them, and much of their civilization was sweapt away within a decade, fallen the bursting of bombs and the rattling of guns. Their space stations fell silent, disabled by EMPs. Their space fleet remained uninjured, however, simply forgotten within its docks. The nations crumbled, and all that is left is a world of tribes, armies, cults, and guilds all struggling for survival, or power.

The Yukin themselves are much like humans, with a few minor additions. For one thing, they are a fair bit lighter of foot, more nimble, and more agile than humans. A long, cat-like tail descends from their tailbone, and is held as a source of high pride amidst their race. In the years before the great war, politicians, nobles, and wealthy usually kept them well-groomed and adorned with fine rings and jewelry. Additionally, a pair of elongated, dog-like ears rests atop their heads, giving them a fine sense of hearing. Both their ears and tails are the same color, usually matching their hair. Beyond that, there are no real differences. Yukin, like Humans, have varying skin tones, based both on the climate they're living in, and their parents' skin tones. Naturally, however, genetics can sometimes cause strange fluctuations in their color, and seperate them greatly from their parents.

“The question is not whether a community lives or dies, the question is on what plane does it live. There are different modes of survival. But all are not equally honorable. For an individual as well as a society, there is a gulf between merely living and living worthily. To fight in a battle and live in a glory is one mode. To beat a retreat to surrender and to live the life of a captive is also a mode of survival.” ~B. R. Ambedkar
