Two turns have passed since the abolition of Dragon Eating. The last of the murderous Dragon Masters have been slain and Dragonkind on Pern is at last free from the threat of slaughter. It has come at a heavy price, however. The Northern Weyrs are bereft of Queens. Pern now looks to Vulnera and the few clutching dragons that remain there to provide Pern with a fighting force. Not only is there a threat of unknown strength coming from the ruins of the North.. but the darkening skies and violent weather provide another foe. Another Pass of Thread is starting.. And there aren't enough Dragons to protect all of Pern. Eyes look to Vulnera for answers. The survivers in the North grow restless and disillusioned with their saviors. They were freed from dragon slaughter, but with no surviving queens, they will be unable to build the Wings needed to protect their homes from Thread. There is one who can give them what they need.
