General forum information for Vulnera.

FORUM INFORMATION

Third person only, please.

We'd like two decent sized paragraphs per post. More is welcomed, loved, and appreciated, but we all have writer's block at times so we won't push it unless it becomes a constant thing.

When starting a topic, please tag who it's for. Member's name or character, or simply Open.

We employ liquid time here. Your characters can be in more than one topic at a time, but please, don't have them fifty places at once. You have more then one character. Don't neglect the others for one.

In Character actions have In Character consequences. If you have on of your characters insults the weyrleader or candidate master, expect repercussions for that character.

Leave In Character, In Character. While we welcome plotting and such with others, just because you decide something out of character doesn't make it fact In Character until it played out.

Same goes for Out of Character. Don't take personal disagreements out on the characters.

Don't complain about the dragon you get or you won't get one at all. We will take it back and impress it to someone else.

Don't RP with exclusively one person or you will never be impressed/chosen/promoted/etc.

DO NOT IRRITATE THE ADMINS. We have a ban hammer, and we WILL use it, if forced to.

CHAT BOX INFORMATION

There are a whole bunch of hormonal females here. If someone's cranky one day, don't take it personally. It's just PMS.

The cbox is family-friendly until 9 PM Vulnera Time, which can be seen at the top of the page under "Welcome To Vulnera Weyr!'. Even when adult time comes, you still need to watch what you say if you want the weyr to stick around. You`ll know when you are going too far when your message disappears.

If you are apart of/run another weyr, and you have a hatching coming up, don't spam the cbox with it. You can post the info up once and include the link, but don't go overboard. Mentioning other sites is fine, but don't direct traffic. Our Sisters may make announcements from time to time and try to get people to come, but again, don`t overdo it.

Please be responsible with your text. We enjoy the customization of colors and fonts, but try not to make them too blinding. Text that is overly hard to read due to color, font, or size will be asked to change. Vulnera does have a few members who are partially color blind, so if any member makes a request, please be courteous enough to comply. It's not just admins who might have trouble.

If there is a problem with any member, please deal with it in private, rather than in the public chat. If this is not possible, you are welcome to PM one of the admins to help deal with the problem. If said problem happens to be a troll or other unfriendly, please just ignore them. The worst thing you can do is get into an argument with them, as it only encourages more unreasonable posts. And admin will take care of the problem as soon as possible.

There will be times when the chat is left without staff monitoring, such as when staff meetings occur. At these times, we will appoint a member currently active in the chat as a 'mod', and give them deletion abilities. When a staff member says 'this person is in charge', listen to the appointed person. This is just a temporary promotion, and mod powers will be revoked once staff in back in the chat.

CREATION INFORMATION

You may play as many characters as you can handle at once. If you can only handle two or three, so be it. If you can consistently post 5-7 characters within two weeks, that will also be tolerated. You may not simply make a character to say you have them. Any character not played in a two week period is subject to being shelved by admin discretion.

Please check the Availability Thread before creating a character or pet.

After your character has been approved, you MUST put a link to their profile in your signature. This helps the admin staff find characters easily, and may mean the difference between your character Impressing or not.

If you're having problems coming up with character names, here is a name generator that may give you ideas.

Members may have two Candidates at a time, three if one is made as a Dual.

TOUCHING INFORMATION

Approximately two to three weeks after a fertile female Rises, one of the admins will ask the female's player post the clutch that was laid by that female. If this isn't done within 72 hours, one of the admins will post for the player, showing the mother calling the candidates to the sands.

When candidates arrive, they should bow and greet the mother, then move on to the eggs.

Each candidate should touch one egg per post, multiple candidates in the same post is allowed, but not multiple touchings by the same candidate.

Please remember to bold or underline the name of the egg your candidate is currently touching.

The admins will post egg responses in the touching thread for each candidate. Please remember that each admin is in charge of certain eggs, so if an admin isn't on when you post the touching, don't expect a response right away.

You may stay at an egg for up to three posts before the candidate must move on.

While not required, touchings help the admins pair dragons with riders. Attending the touching gives you a better chance of impressing, unless have already contacted an admin about an absence.

Approximately one week after the touching, the admins will request all candidates to the Sands for the hatching.

If there is a dragon for you, they will not Impress until your candidate is on the sands.

If a hatching lasts for more then a week without your character on the sands, there is a chance we will give your dragon to someone else.

The admins require a certain number of posts between each Impression, usually three, though we will make exceptions.

There will, at times, be maulings, but we respect the members wishes. If you really, really don't want your candidate hurt, we'll try to accommodate you.

Wher hatchings happen much like dragon hatchings, only without the touching. Or the white candidates robes.

The only difference here is that the admins will sometimes power play the clutch mother to run people off. Not common, but possible.
