Well, my characters don't exactly introduce themselves to me. Rather, my characters are different incarnations of me.
Taweren represents the just side of me. He kinda sticks out of the crowd and would rather be alone. D'lan is my quiet, timid side. He is always nervous about meeting people and tends to avoid public places. Relina is my inner viciousness. She has been so badly treated by people in her past that she just can't trust anyone anymore, and responds to everything with coldness. Deep down, she wants to trust people but is afraid too. Catilena is my hyper side. Her antics always lead her to trouble and she is easily guilt-written. She hates making people mad and will practically grovel for forgiveness.
What do they all have in common? They are loyal as Between to their friends. They will fight for what they believe in and who they love.
So yeah, my characters are me. That's why I find making new ones difficult, because I have to look inside meself and find a part of me that I want to personify.
In short, if you have trouble making a charry, why not look deep inside yourself and find a part of you that wants to come out. Personify it. Make it real.
Hope this helps ya! If you feel you can help others, post it here!
