(ooc: the basement wouldn't let me start a topic... so yeah... weird.)

First day of class was nerve wracking for anybody. Well, anybody except Evelyn Crauss, she was far too excited to be at all nervous. It was her first day at Vestavia Academy being enrolled in classes. She had spent the last week laying around her dorm room-- putting up pictures and chatting with her friends from home on her pink laptop. Pink seemed to be a theme in her dorm room. She had specially made Disney Princess sheets that her parents had ordered for her. There was a pink mini-fridge with a pink television resting on top of it casually. On top of her desk was a lamp with a pink tint to both the lamp cover and the stand it was on. She had a fuzzy pink chair in the corner of the room for visitors-- something that had not yet happened since she arrived at Vestavia. She had barely met anybody except those who had smiled and waved in passing at the new preppy girl. The school seemed cliquey-- something that Evee was completely used to, but what high school student wasn’t used to cliques? Evee-- she was a prep, no doubt about it. And she was hoping and praying that within the month, she would be considered one of the populars… like she had her entire life.

While her mind wandered about cliques and how she was going to find and get in good with the ‘in-crowd’, Evee must’ve wandered down the wrong stairwell. She found herself wandering around the school’s basement. It was relatively clean for a basement-- and there were a few classrooms down there that looked as though they had gone unused since the school opened. As the panic of not knowing where she was began to set in-- she ran right into a couple making out. The girl’s shirt was nearly halfway off, and her hair was a myriad of colors. Evee smirked a little in terror and began apologizing.

“Sorry-- sorry…” she whimpered as she quickly backed away and began running down the basement hallway-- looking back at the peeved couple every few steps. As Evee’s black, pointed-toe shoes clicked and clacked down the hallway she looked up towards where she was going… just in time to run into another girl. Both girls went plummeting to the floor, and Evee landed on her butt in her already ripped Abercrombie jeans.

“God-- I’m sorry… I’m lost, I don’t know where the hell I am,” said a breathless Evee, “I’m so sorry. How the hell do I get out of here? I’m looking for the history room. Uhm… shit-- I don’t remember the number.” Frazzled-- Evee stood up and held her hand out towards the girl she had knocked over with such brute force. She brushed off her butt and noticed a new hole in her pants, right on the pocket-- which was now nearly hanging off the pants. She let out a groan as she ripped the rest of the pocket off-- safely ‘fixing’ the pants. She tugged at her black, off the shoulder tunic top-- fixing it so that it looked good again. Her hands traveled up towards her perfectly curled, dark brown locks and she fluffed her hair as though it had been drenched in a rainstorm. Her makeup looked like it had been done by a makeup artist-- a perfectly smoky eye with long, curly eyelashes. Her cheeks were the perfect pink hue and her lush lips were a deep red color. She was nothing short of beautiful, besides the faint scar that traced the line of the right corner of her lip to the corner of her right eye. She wasn’t sure how she got the scar-- but assumed it had something to do with her being a little tomboy when she was younger.

Leslie picked herself up from the floor dusting off 7 for all mankind jeans retrieving her purse and her cell phone. God definitely can't lose that... well what is she talking about she'll just have her father buy a new one. Still she needed that phone. It was like her life line. And what if Devan called?? No she couldn't lose that phone. After she finished pulling and adjusting in all the right places she looked to the girl who'd knocked her over. So normally Leslie would have probably snapped at the girl, asked her how stupid one person can be, and if she indeed knew who she was running into but today.... not so much. She was in a good mood today. She put on the automatic smile she was so accustomed to.

"It's fine really. Here give me your schedule I'll help you find it."

Leslie extended her hand for Evee's schedule.

:God how out of character for you. Hey I can be nice at times... especially after being with Devan That boy is seriously getting in the way of your bitchiness.:

"You--- are a god-send," laughed Evee, as she rummaged through her brand new Coach bag, one of the most expensive things she owned. Normally, she would just find a cute and cheap lookalike and give the rest of the money to some charity. But for her birthday her parents had insisted that she get something real for once. She carried it around with pride-- knowing that the bag would probably get her through the rest of her years at Vestavia Academy. Her schedule was of course, lodged at the bottom of the brand new bag and she pulled it out-- groaning as it passed by her notebooks and lipglosses and compact mirrors. She held it out towards the other girl, who seemed a little miffed that she had been knocked over-- but who wouldn't? At least Evee haden't gotten yelled at, which is probably what she would have done if someone had knocked her over onto her ass in the middle of a dank basement.

The girl that Evee has run into was stunning, for lack of a better word. A brilliant brunette with a cute little build and a flawless face. She had to be at least two years older than Evee, probably a senior at the school. A good ally for Evee to have met on her first day of classes-- she was wearing what looked like designer jeans and she seemed extremely worried at first about grabbing up her cell phone. Definitely what looked like one of the popular kids-- a.k.a. someone that Evee wanted to be friends with desperately. She was a 'popular' at her old school, but now she was the new girl, and her status could go either way. Her shyness could possibly get in the way of moving up the high school ladder-- as well as her charity. Most popular kids seemed to be the rich bratty types. Evee fit the bill for rich... but bratty was not her style... she preferred giving over recieving. And she was often mocked for her love of charity.

"Here," smirked Evee as she passed the schedule over to the girl's hand, "My name is Evelyn, by the way. First day-- I'm a sophomore. You can call me Evee though, if you'd like." She smirked, it was a nervous smile-- hoping that the girl would like her. Nothing made her more nervous than a first day at a new school. She haden't done it much in her life besides the transitions between elementary and middle school and middle school and high school. And now, living in a different state-- away from her normal friends... away from her parents. It was a new and scary environment. One where her status was not yet set out-- she wasn't known by anybody yet, and it frightened her.

"So-- what's the deal with this school?" questioned Evee, prodding more and more into the ins and outs of Vestavia Academy, "Cliquey? Is there anybody I should or shouldn't talk to? I don't need to ruin my reputation on the first day by cavorting with the wrong people."

:It's always nice to know I'm appreciated. Yeah as if you need a bigger ego.:

"Leslie Williams. I'm a senior. Nice bag by the way."

She said evenly as Evee handed her the schedule. She skimmed it for Evee's history class and the number. She wrinkled her petite nose as she saw who the teacher was. Ugh hadn't they all hated having him sophomore year? Yes, living nightmare, projects every two weeks, papers every month, and more partner presentations than you could shake a stick at. Of course having someone do that for her was never much of a problem for Leslie. She handed the schedule back to Evee remembering the class room number without even having to look at it on the schedule. She re-shifted her own purse on her shoulder.

"I'll talk you to you're class... and answer questions on the way."

She took off down the basement hallway making sure Evee fell in stride next to her and addressed her first questions.

"Vestavia is pretty much like every other high school out there. As for people you should talk to. I'm a hell of a start so don't worry too much about ruining your reputation around me."

A senior! Thank the high heavens. It was Evee's lucky day. She had run into a senior on her first day. And by the looks of the girl-- it seemed as though she was one of the more popular people. Or at least nice enough to get along with, perhaps a step up for the new girl on her first day.

"Thanks, just got it," smirked Evee as her hazel eyes looked down towards the tan and colored Coach purse, "Yours is pretty cute too." A compliment always took you further-- Evee knew that. There were girls who had gotten into her group at her old school just by complimenting her hair, which was by far her best asset. It was rather sad that all of Evee's thoughts rested in her reputation. She had always been concerned about being popular, ever since she understood what the word popular meant-- she had strived for it completely. A typical high school preppy girl, go figure. Just what the world needed more of.

When the girl took the schedule from Evee she noticed her nose wrinkle in disgust. Uh-oh. Bad teacher? Bad classes? Geeky classes? A whirlwind of thoughts ran through Evee's head and her heard began to pound faster and harder. What could possibly make this girl look in disgust at her schedule?

"Really?" questioned Evee, when Leslie had said she would take Evee to class, "I'm so glad I ran into you." Once Leslie began walking she followed quickly, being sure to stay right next to her in the dark, basement hallway. The clicking of Evee's shoes seemed to echo down the hallway loudly and she quickly became self-concious of them.. hoping that the noise didn't bother her new aquaintance.

"Are you really?" inquired Evee to Leslie when she mentioned she was a good start, "You kind of looked like it. I could pretty much tell right away. I think the Seven jeans were a dead give-away." As they walked down the hallway, Evee began to fluff her curled hair-- making sure it was still full of volume and bounce. Her hair was without a doubt her best asset.

Leslie had to hand it to Evee she definitely had the complimenting people part down pat. That was always valuable in the highschool world. People loved to be told about how good they looked or how great their stuff was and Leslie was no exception to this rule.

Evee had indeed been extremely lucky in running into Leslie, especially on a very charitable day at that. As far as the "in" crowd went she was a in as they came at Vestavia. Showing Evee the ropes would be zero to no problem at all. Leslie flicked her hair absentmindedly over her shoulder and, finding the stairs up to the main level of hallways and classrooms, ascended the stairs and they both returned to the light. Leslie took a right and as she walked rifled through her purse pulling out her sunglasses and putting them on.

"Seven jeans are a little weakness of mine."

Evee smirked as she noticed that Leslie seemed to be taking a liking to her. Probably because in every sentence without fail, Evee had been dolling out compliments to Leslie without a second thought. Sucking up was like second nature to Evee-- and she knew that she wanted to be in with this girl. And if she had to kiss some major ass to get into the 'in-crowd' then she would go for it head first. The brunette sophomore played with her hair a little more as she skipped to keep up with the senior who had gracefully lended her help to the new girl.

"I stick with Abercrombie-- they're easier to get a hold of," laughed Evelyn, who didn't really go for the expensive designers that Leslie seemed to go for, "I only have the Coach purse because my parents bought it for me for my birthday." She shrugged, and wondered if her cheap taste would affect Leslie's thoughts about her at all.

"Cute sunglasses, too," smirked Evee, as she tried to think of more questions about the school, "Anybody that I should specifically stay away from here? Or any places? I don't want to fuck up my time here in one day. I could never stand being an outcast or anything like that-- it would ruin high school forever." It was true-- popularity was everything to Evelyn. Sadly, she was going to be the girl that still talked about how she was homecoming queen her senior year in high school when she turned thirty. The girl who could never get out of high school. Stuck in the world of teenage angst for the rest of her life. College for her would be like high school number two.

Leslie walked the length of the hallway and as they passed the few stragglers who were late for class or just never went sent both Evee and Leslie glances. It really wasn't hard to see why. A new girl hanging out with Leslie Williams??? They all had to know who this mystery girl was before everyone else got the scoop.

"Abercrombie's better then what some of my peers choose to adorn themselves in."

As they just about reached Evee's going-to-be extremely-hellish-because-of-the-teacher history class, Leslie figured filling Evee in on everyone who was in and out at Vestavia would take a loooooong time so instead she pulled out her cell phone.

"There's a party going on tonight and you can pass your own judgments then. Give me your cell phone number and I'll fill you in on the details later on."

Evee stumbled forward a little to keep up with Leslie's quick stride. Her heels clicked obviously faster on the floor as her little legs stuggled to keep up with the senior. Her tight Abercrombie jeans rubbed against her thighs as she walked, and her hips swayed back and forth as she glided forward on the tiled school floor. She brushed her dark hair back behind her ear again and her eyelashes tilted upward as she gazed at the brick walls of the inside of the school.

As Evelyn kept up with Leslie's stride she looked around at the few stragglers who were obviously staring at Evee and Leslie. She lowered her brow in confusion and looked over towards Leslie in a questioning manner just as she noticed Leslie slowing down in front of a classroom that had the words 'History' marked on the glass window of the door. She turned back around towards the few kids that were staring at them and saw one of them looking over their shoulder at Evelyn and Leslie so far that she tripped over a chair in the hallway and spilled all the contents of her hands onto the floor. Stifling a laugh, Evelyn turned back towards Leslie with a look of pure confusion on her face.

"I've noticed-- we have quite a few... erm, freaks, at this school," remarked Evelyn, still confused as to why she was being stared at. She looked down at her full Abercrombie and Fitch wardrobe, and was glad about the outfit she had chosen today-- it had taken nearly three hours the day before to pick out her 'first day' outfit. And it had taken nearly an hour this morning to do her makeup-- and another hour to just do her hair.

"Party?" questioned Evelyn, surprised that on her first day-- one of the most popular girls invited her to a party, "Sounds great. It's 956-0001. It's always on, you can text me or whatever. Thanks so much, Leslie. I should probably get into class now. You're awesome."

Leslie smirked as Evee noticed that glances and stares that were aimed in their general direction.

"Freak isn't even the right word for it."

She lowered her voice only slightly as a laugh played out in her voice as well when she spoke.

"They're just looking for who the new kid is and what's made her so lucky to be in good graces already with Leslie Williams."

She went back to typing in Evee's name and number into her phone book. She stored it and shoved the phone back into her purse. She winked and waved as Evee disappeared into her classroom.

"Call you later on tonight."
