personality Lalita Virdee holds herself to a very stern and strict way of life and she judges everyone who doesn't measure up to the way she lives. Chances are when she has met you she has looked down her nose at you (figuratively as she generally cannot physically) and found you wanting. She is a disciplined woman, serious and goal oriented to a fault. It doesn't take much of a slight to fall from her good graces and there are not many people who ever manage to make it into her good graces. She has no patience with anything she sees as vapid which is pretty much all of the things in the world. When Lalita has an opinion to voice not only is it voiced but it is strongly put into existence and, as far as she is concerned, is cold hard fact and more than enough to change the minds of any dissenters she could encounter. She is proud, arrogant, and set in her ways and probably has absolutely no use for you. history Lalita Virdee and her family immigrated to England from Ludhiana, India when Lalita was eight years old. Before that time the Virdee family had been living a comfortable life in their city, Isha owning one of the more successful knitwear factories in the city and Kunti coming from a generally wealthy background. They set out to raise Lalita in the world of their backgrounds and to let her not want for anything which, considering Lalita's disposition, was a hard thing to keep up with. While both sides of the family had magical backgrounds it was Lalita's father who taught her the most about what the family does and her mother's contribution to the subject was her connections in the upper echelons of magical society. It was her mother that brought the family to England, wishing for her daughter to have the best in their select social circle and seeing the opportunity to get closer with the Monks of the area. Lalita was put into the world at quite an early age and, honestly, she found most of the people she met dull and tedious but was more than happy for the connections later in life. By the time she was a fledgling in the organization she was quite sure that she knew all of the weaknesses she had at her disposal to exploit and, though she wasn't nearly so arrogant as to think herself without competition, she was still comfortable with using her position as a means to her own end, whatever end that may be. One weakness of her own she was not going to allow anyone to exploit if she could help it, was her knack for divination and prophecy. While the fact that she is able to do the things she does is common knowledge throughout the organization she keeps the extent of her abilities quiet and weighs her decisions on what to share with her usual co-conspirators. She feels that the gift is hers and hers alone and she will use it only as she sees fit rather than giving it over for the use of others. The first time she realized she was able to do anything related to this actually started while she was still in India. She saw nothing spectacular or shocking, merely the events of the next day played out to her bit by bit in her dreams. After a few more times, however, it was enough for her to realize she needed to look into this more and questioned her father who helped her train. With more training the farther and clearer Lalita could see. To this day she cannot always channel a vision purposefully which is why she also has studied many a form of divination. Despite not desiring an occupation beyond her magic and what it took to keep her in the lifestyle she was accustomed to, Lalita is well educated. Her choice of studies led her to Oxford where she focused on Classics but tended to dabble in whatever she pleased as she had the leisure to do so. This is probably why, completely devoid of scholarly reason, she made her way over to her little hobby of cars. It was one point in her life where she let her pretensions down and, while it was out of character for her more than likely, she really quite enjoyed. That doesn't mean she's going to be doing it any time soon for most of the company she keeps, however. She returned from her collegiate years in London, easing back into the life she had been conditioned for with ease. The upper levels of the local order of the Monks has been her home for many a year now and she's carved out a comfortable existence for herself. There have been times, however, where she was not exactly the most loyal of monks, giving their detractors anonymous tips when she was privy to future knowledge she knew her partners would not want stopped but she wanted gone for her own personal reasons.

If any of the tours that went by Arthur's Seat had any magic users in them they might have been treated to an interesting sight as Lalita climbed on-top of the highest point of the mound she trusted not to completely sink her heels into. Of course, if there were any magic users there and they were worth their salt they would know what the site was used for and wouldn't bat an eye at any of the Monks being at their headquarters. They might find it odd to see one standing on top of it, however. Once reaching her desired spot, she turned her sights upward into the sky, watching the bird's flight as intently as any person would watch a news program they were especially interested in.

She turned to face south, opening her eyes again and looking back up at the few birds that were to be seen overhead. The birds in question were off to her right, earning a frown as it was not the favorable sign she had been hoping for on her climb up here. There were still calls to listen for and she hoped very much that they would bring her good news.

"I wish to know the progress of our hunt." She muttered to herself, invoking her augury with the question it needed and held her breath, listening. "If things are to go well on our current path please send your sign." Silence greeted her and lasted for solid minutes before she took that as her sign they were not quite on the track she was hoping for. Her eyes opened, glancing up at the birds in the west with a haughty look, not pleased from today's divination exercise in the least.

Defeated for the moment, Lalita eased her way down from her lookout, cursing the fact that she had ended up in the more 'nature' setting of the Monks' headquarters. The appeal was completely lost on her, though she knew the history of the place and the fact that it held power. It was still a complete inconvenience to her and sometimes she found herself wondering if London would suit her better.

That was neither here nor there as far as business went and if Lalita were to be honest with herself she would hate dealing with the likes of Bancroft and her vanity so often considering the other woman spent most of her time in London. Her hand reached into her bag at her side, pulling out an old, brown book, large enough to dwarf her hands easily. If her signs were answering her in the way she was almost certain they were, this was not the tome they were looking for.
