The following is information about the Vandread Universe.

1. Vandread and Vandread: The Second Stage

Long ago, earth was reaching a fall. Falling into a mechanical abyss and people were quickly dieing. They left for different planets such as Mejale and Taraak and others. And some survived to help create and inhabit Experimental Earth.

In the first generation of a certain group of Ex-Earthlings, Hibiki Tokai is born. He is put under a sort of chryogenic cold sleep and is supposed to stay asleep for a long time. For some reason though, he wakes up far more earlier than expected.

Soon, he joins the Taraak Military as a lowely mechanic. Soon, he bets with his friends that he can steal a Taraak Vanguard. Sneaking in, easy. Stealing, easy. But the ship he boarded called the Ikazuchi sets out to fight a Mejale Pirate Ship known as the Nirvana.

After an intense battle, the hull of the Ikazuchi somehow fuses with the Nirvana via the Paxis Parama. And Hibiki Tokai and two other men are taken 'hostage' and stuff. The men fear the Mejale women.

Soon, they venture around. And somehow a connection form between men and women. They learn about children, babies, sex, etc. Everyone was building a stronger connection. Through many ordeals, they learned about the harvest and fought against it.

In the end, Grandma and Grandpa (the leaders of Taraak and Mejale) engage war after the members and crew of the Nirvana are taken. Various types of punishment occur before they finally escape. And soon, war begins. The Harvest Annihaltion Device used to destroy unwanted worlds and now to destroy a giant fleet. Hordes and Hordes of allies form alliances to defeat the harvest. In the end, they defeat them and the war is over.

Now, Hibiki Tokai, Duero McFile, Bart Garsus, Jura Basil Alden, and Dita Liebely venture to Taraak to bring and interview men to live with the women aboard the Nirvana.

3. Vandread: The Extra Stage

This short series is different, it shows facts before and after Vandread.

Barnette & Jura Story

This is the first and probably the longest story in this book. It features a period before the series begin. The story mainly focus on the relationship between Jura and Barnette, starting from the time where Barnette joined the pirates.

Facts:

- Before Barnette become a Dread pilot, Barnette belongs to the Registration System under Gascogne.
- Barnette's family consisted of her parents, herself and her 4 sisters (two older and two younger). She is the 3rd child in her family.
- Barnette's "collection" (i.e. her guns) was given to her by her Ouma.
- Barnette and Jura are rivals at the very beginning.
- Meia was made to be another Dread Team Leader during this story (the original one is called Varoa).

Parfet Story

This story was started after the episode about "Mission". Parfet was trying to fix a shuttle. But then some bug from the main system of Mission infected the system of Nirvana. With most of the main crew (i.e. Magno, BC, Meia etc.) were on the Mission and Parfet was outside of Nirvana in the shuttle all by herself, the 3 bridge operators Amarone Slangeba, Vervedale Coco and Celtic Midori must try to fix the system, and Parfet must contact Nirvana before the Emergency Life Support System goes off.

Facts:

- Parfet's parents were still alive back at the Mejale Pirates Base.

Gascogne Story

This is a really, really short story. It was set during the fight between the Mejale Pirates and the Reaping Machine in the Second Stage. It describes what happened after Gascogne had crashed her Delivery Ship into the Reaping Machine and after she went back to Nirvana after the last battle.

Kalua Story

This is a post-Vandread story about Ezra's daughter Kalua. Misty also had played a big part in this story. After Hibiki and the others departed to Talark, Pyoro and somehow sneaked back to the Pirates Base because of "his" desire to see "Pyoro-2", much to the distress of Rebecca, Kalua's Ouma. Meanwhile, Misty was stressed too because she felt she didn't belong to the pirates since she not from Mejale. And Meia was trying to help by suggesting Misty to join the Event-planning crew, who were planning to welcome party when Hibiki were back with the men from Talark. At the same time, Ezra, Rebecca and Pyoro found out Kalua was missing...

Hibiki & Dita Story

Finally arriving Talark, BC and the other officials in Talark were starting to plan for what to do during their trip. At the same time, they have encountered another problem about Hibiki. Since Hibiki is Grandpa and Grandma's child, the official didn't know whether they should treat Hibiki as a diplomat or as the prince of their planet. In order to find out the answer, they wanted Hibiki to meet Grandpa and Grandma. Hibiki himself was also confused by the treatment he received from the officials and in great stress. Dita of course wanted to help...

4. Whats a Vanguard

99 type Bangata Bokugeki-ki (Ryousankata/Mass Produce) - Mechas that was built for the planned assault of Tarak against Mejale. Bangatas are humanoid types; it can stand upright and has human-like abilities of fighting such as thrusting, kicking, slashing, and so on. Women call Bangatas as "Vanguards".

Dread Ryousankata (Mass Produce) - While men bears the humanoid type, women have Dreads which are just typical fighter planes piloted by Mejale. Typical, but very fearsome.

5. Whats Pexis?

Pexis is a unique and strange force that merges with things. It is still being researched on and it's capabilities is still not completly understood.

6. Where the board plot starts?

The board starts right after the Hibiki and Dita Story in Vandread: The Extra Stage. Hibiki Tokai and Dita go to see Grandma and Grandpa in Taraak whilst Bart, Duerro, and Jura look for suitable men to go to the Nirvana.
