Appearance: Rose is a very healthy girl. She has dark brown hair and eyes. Seeing as she’s a dhampir and training to be a guardian, she doesn’t have a lot of choice in what she wears. Rose has to wear looser-fitting clothes so she can fight and train efficiently.

History: Rose was born to Janine Hathaway, a dedicated quardian, and Ibrahim Mazur, a wealthy Turkish Moroi. Janine didn’t want to keep Rose because she felt she was obligated to her Moroi that she was guarding, so she gave Rose up. Ibrahim didn’t really want anything to do with Janine and Rose, so Rose was taken to the academy and put under care of the school.
Lissa Dragomir is Rose’s best friend, and they got in a car crash when they were younger. Rose died, but Lissa brought her back to life with her spirit powers. Rose and Lissa are bonded now because Rose is shadow-kissed.
During their freshman year of high school at the academy, the two girls ran away and they lived in the human world. They were followed and eventually brought back to the school. Since Rose was behind on her lessons, she was assigned a tutor. Dimitri Belikov. She’s worked very hard to over come the challenges of losing a year of schooling.
Rose has fallen in love with Dimitri, but they’ve both been promised to Lissa after she graduates. Lissa is the last of her line and she’s very important, so she’s being assigned two guardians. Rose and Dimitri have to work past their love and be the best guardians for Lissa.

The keys slipped out of her fingers and she bent over to pick them up. Tihana was enraged about what she had just seen. “Someone has broken the masquerade. To leave a body like that, it’s just wrong, unheard of.” She turned the key in the lock and pushed the door open. Once she was inside, she went to her room and grabbed some older clothes and she changed. Tihana went back outside and went down the stairs and walked back to the alley.
“Lucky there isn’t a crowd,” Tihana thought to herself as she bent over the body to look at it closely for the first time. She studied the face, memorized it, and she extended a hand. There was a little warmth on the body. “It’s still fresh. I hope I was the first to see it.“ Then she quickly looked around for evidence of anyone. Picking the body up, Tihana ran to her apartment. Thankful for her speed, she got to the door before anyone had noticed what was going on.
Tihana put the body in her spare bedroom and went to her phone. “I need to tell someone about this.” She picked the phone up and dialed Moira’s number so she could let her know what happened. The answering machine picked up and Tihana said, “Moira, there’s something really important that I need to talk to you about. It’s dire. Please, call me as soon as you can. I have something to tend to, and I will be home.” She hung up the phone and went to the spare room, where she had just put the body. “What should I do with it now?”
