Sir Morgan of Valdar Posted on Jun 30 2005, 11:03 AM
Sir Morgan's eyes widened as he saw the sword swinging viciously beneath him. "DEAR XLANDER!" he screamed out as he was hit with the sword. This hit sent him flying into a tree branch breaking it as he continued his descent to the ground. He slid about five feet until he hit a tree. His eyes winced in pain as he sat there in heap of his body mass, he let out alittle laugh but it was short bursted, "OW... thank Xlander for there being trees... I might have went aways from battle. But why must they be so hard?"

He looked up still sitting on the ground, "I think my back might be injured, well my nimbleness has failed me in my false attack. Must you hit so hard?!" He slowly got up rubbing his back, "This fight has caused me nothing but damage to everything tender on my body." He bent backwards, cracking his back, he then flipped over his head to his feet.

"Hm... how are we going to do this?" He stroked his goutee for awhile staring at Breven. "Ah I have gotten an idea!" He started to run forward, when he got into Breven's large sword length he spun in a circle, sliding forward and attempted kicking Breven's legs out from under him if this was possible. "Me a royal guard for the royal king himself wil not give up with just a broken back and crushed hopes of future children."

He knew that this attempt was most likely faulty so he used Breven's body to flip push himself behind Breven. He kicked out with his legs making himself jolt backwards as he threw his sword behind him. He stretched out his arms and flipped over his head and landed on his feet by his sword. He grabbed it with his left hand and threw it to his right hand. As he observed what damage was dealt or if it was not recieved.

Breven quickly shook off the dizzyness from spinning and focused on battle. This little man was quick, and breven didn't want to be caught off guard. He took his usual defencive stance with his blade down like before. I'm sure to win this match Breven thought as he prepared for the next attack.

Sir morgan did an attack that was very common to Breven. The standard rush and head thrust. Breven was ready for it though and thrusted his sword as he had done previously. This attack was with the blunt side and probibly would only knock the wind out of Sir Morgan.

When the nimble man went between Breven's legs Breven's thrust stuck his sword cleanly in the ground. A second later Breven felt the tip of a sword on his neck. In normal circumstances the fight would have gone to Sir Morgan, but he asked Breven if he wished to continue.

"Of course I do!" Breven said as he leaped over his sword, pulled the handle back and let it fling at Sir Morgan. The sword was thick, but Breven was a big man and the sword bent under his strength. When Breven released the sword it made a strange noise as it flung back and fourth. This attack would knock someone pretty good, and would be especially hard to dodge while falling.

"Gotcha!" Breven yelled excitidly as he turned around to check if he had hit Sir Morgan or not. The man was nimble but he hardly could have predicted an attack like that coming. Breven was quite proud of his fighting skill and smiled a little.

Sir Morgan's eyes observed as the blade hitting the guantlets did not do a thing. He was about to jump off until the sword was being spun around Breven, in an instant his body flew towards a tree. "Dear Xlander!" he tucked his knees to his waist and made sure they were faceing the tree. His feet touched and bounded off the wood.

He hit the ground in a tumble at the end he quickly jumped to his feet. "Hm..." he noticed that Breven was abit dazed. "I can see my dueling side will not work here." He ran clear at Breven, he raised his rapier in the air as if he were going to attack him by a blow to the head. WHile he was running he tucked in his legs and rolled through Breven's.

He quickly returned to his feet again and gave a grin, "Well Breven..." He pointed the rapier at the back of his neck, "Do you wish to continue?" He knew the answer would be yes, and figured that Breven would spin around in a dangerous attack manuver, so he jumped into the air and came down at his neck trying to bind it with his legs.

Breven was allmost glad his attack had missed. In a fight it's best if your oponent gives up on their own. Breven did however feel uncomfortable with the fact that there was a small man sitting on his sword and attacking his hand. breven couldn't very well let go of the hilt of his sword and he was lucky that his gauntlets protected him from the attack.

The man sitting on his sword was allmost more weight than Breven could support and he imidietly began thinking of ways to get Sir morgan off of it. Breven, with barely an instant to think decided that spinning until the little man flew off would be the best possible tactic.

"Get off of ma' sword!" Breven yelled as he began spinning. Breven hoped that the momentum of the sword would send Sir Morgan flying. The sword twirled about as Breven spun it as fast as he could. Breven couldn't help but feel a little bit dizzy but if that's what it took to win this battle than so be it.

Sir Morgan's right hand flew behind him as the rapier was hit, "Ah... I knew my wrist would be hurting... I am going to have fun with this duel," he grinned. He noticed Breven preparing with some kind of wierd motion, he noticed the sword pointed at him, the only thing Breven could do at this moment is lunge.

He saw the attack coming at him at great speed and his eyes widened as he jumped in the air raising his legs above his head into a front flip, only thing is he manages to fall onto the sword with his legs open, "Oooo... ow ow ow, I am hindered from the tenderness." His eyes winced in pain for a moment as he lunged his rapier at Breven still sitting on the sword uncomfortably. "I may have to sit this one." He chuckled still holding himself with his left hand.

His strategy was to attack Breven's hand to make him drop the sword, like in fencing it was always best if they drop their sword. He made another lunge at his hand with the quickness of his arm, but his balance was thrown off for he was not on his feet.

"You may be harder to hit, my small friend, but if you were to be hit it would be devistating." Breven said very sure of his abilities. "I would give you maybe three hits with my sword at best" Breven gave a quick motion with his head at the blade of his sword and smiled. He usualy gave his oponents only two hits, but Sir Morgan was a defender fo the king.

He had allways taken pride in his large blade. His teacher said that only the strongest most skilled warriors could weild such a large blade with any form of skill. Breven held his sword like a medal of honor. Althought it did hinder Breven's attack speed, it's sheer size made it hard to dodge if weilded properly.

"if it's fear she wants than she certainly has it. Looks can be deciving my friend and beleve me, she is anything but fragile." Breven said with a chuckle. "This duel is simply for fun Sir Morgan" Breven said in his most friendly tone "After I shall continue following Willow to the best of my abilities. If she turns out ot be a demon than I shall turn her over to the authorities, if not I will offer my hand in marrage." Breven wasn't so sure how he would go about doing that.

"Do not worry, after the duel there will be much time for talk" Breven said reasuringly to Sir Morgan. It was then that Breven witnessed the strangest attack he had ever seen. Sir Morgan was swaying back and fourth and moving all about. Then he attacked Breven's sword. Why would he attack my sword of all things?! Breven thought to himself.

Breven didn't plan on letting Sir Morgan prance about for much longer. He quickly turned his blade sideways so that it would knock away Sir Morgans slash. Breven then pushed the blade of his sword level with the hilt and lunged the sword at Sir Morgan with suprising speed. Either Sir Morgan would get out of the way, or Breven would have just crippled his new friend.

"Such a peasant aquired such armour is to my suprise yet it may be to my down fall, if only this were a real fight. But in duels armour does not matter and neither does strength unless used properly." He quirked a brow and wiped the beads of sweat that formed upon his fore head.

"Do not judge me at by my size, it means I am much harder to hit and it takes me less effort to dodge rather then you. But your blows will be swift and I could not defend with just a rapier. I may end up with a broken wrist by the end of this." He let out a laugh from his abdomin.

His face took a serious tone, "If she is who you say she is why waste your time in a duel with me? Hm..." He raised his left hand to stroke his goutee again, "Maybe she just says these things to make you fear her so she doesn't have to deal with a big man such as yourself. She looks to be such a fragile woman," He gave a wink at Breven and laughed.

"Oh... you are no fun Breven, women are so much fun to talk about," he said this in a joking attitude. "But I agree with you, if I may be fighting this demon you so call her, then I may need to stretch my muscles first." He raised his rapier again, taking his offensive stance where he places his rapier in between them and stands sideways having his right foot closer to the enemy.

"The first attack you say? I glady will deliver upon your request." He took a step with his right foot in front then his left foot followed behind, a quick touch at the heel with his left foot against his right one. He moved forward in this manner swaying forward and backwards while still moving forward. He swiftly struck out a blow to the right of the sword just to test how strong the steel was.
Breven Posted on Jun 23 2005, 10:48 PM
"Alas, I am but a normal pesant and I wear fine armor and posess much skill with my sword. This peasant just might suprise you with his skill" Breven said trying to brag a little before his duel with Sir Morgan. If a fighter didn't have confidence in himself than he truely wasn't a fighter.

"They call me Breven, just Breven, a pleasure to meet you. I take no offence to your comment. It is true that you do seem very small compared to the type of people I usually spar with, but what is a fighter if he can't adjust, right?" Breven let out a hearty laugh.

"I think she is a demon" Breven said realizing that he had no real evidence to support his theory. "She said something to me about taking souls before she walked off. I figured that I should follow her just to make sure she doesn't harm any further people" Breven said hoping that Sir Morgan realized he was in fact a good guy.

"But enough of her, there is a time for woman and a time for fighting, and now is not the time for women." Breven said more than ready to get this duel started. "I think I shall let you have the first attack Sir Morgan, if that is allright with you" Breven said as he took his defencive stance.

he swung his sword down and held it with one hand on the hilt and the others palm on the butt of the weapon. The point of the sword was facing downward infront of breven. This was Brevens favorite defencive stance for it gave his opponents very little oportunity to get close enough to attack. "ready when you are" Breven said waiting for the small man to strike.
Sir Morgan of Valdar Posted on Jun 23 2005, 09:57 PM
Sir Morgan continued to keep his rapier raised at the man. He raised a brow at Breven, "You did not think I was with the king? Does such a normal peasant wear such fine clothing and have the time to take up the art of fencing, I do not think so... no no no no no my friend." He chuckled out loud, "A duel you say, my blade against yours? Hardly compareable in size I say but I am always up for a friendly duel."

Sir Morgan lowered his sword to his right side and faced Breven properly. He raised his hand up to his goutee and stroke it, "My name is Jaraldo Malachi Morgan III, you may call me whatever you wish, but most my title for the king is Sir Morgan. What is your name my ratherly large man. Surely I seem like a very tiny person with nothing compared to you and your thick armour." He gave a full belly laugh, "No offense to you friend, no offense meant."

"Tsk... tsk... tsk..." he shook his head at his words. "You seem to be swooning over her, have you known her long? Why does she avoid talking to you or even looking at you? Tis a shame indeed, you would have a great reward if you kept that flower in your vase on the mantle."

Sir Morgan's eyes widened, "A criminal?! You wish'th a criminal to be your bride? What foolery bestows you, only wrong can acome by your foolishness. On what account is she, murder, theivery... what? Tell me quickly before I faint of such a suprise..." He put the backside of his left hand against his forhead and closed his eyes, joking around at his statement.

Breven had not realized that this little man was the law. He allmost laughed out loud when he thought about the man running about doing the kings bidding. Breven could never live such a life, allthough he was used to taking orders on a farm in battle he belonged to only himself and his code.

The man was claerly intimidated with Breven's awesome power and breven was a bit curious about this mans skill, but if he was going against the law then Breven decided to let this fight slide. "Oh I did not realize that you were a man of the kingdom." Breven swung his sword around and rested it on his shoulders. "I do not wish to .. go against the king as you so strongly worded it. I would however like to witness your skill with a sword. Care for a friendly duel?"

Breven loved a good fight and it didn't matter in the least to him if Willow was watching anymore. Breven never used his real power in friendly fights, it was against his code. Unless of course his oponent asked him to, but even still he found it hard to injure his friends.

"And although your words of Willow are true and as much as I'd wish it to be, she is not my bride." Breven said mentally smacking himself for thinking of Willow in that way. He reminded himself that she was a soul stealing demon and should be turned over to the proper authorites. It was then that Breven realized that the little man may be helpful to him.

"I am simply tracking her because I beleve that she may be a criminal" Breven said matter-of-factly. Realizing that his duel may have to be posponed to deal with Willow who had snuck out of Breven's view while he was chalenging this man.
