[Priam]

Priam had taken the job of being close to the surface and had taken the possibility of allowing his face to turn up towards the sun, and he smiled when he could feel the short hair cling more to his face than usual. His seagreen eyes looked around and enjoyed the way the green grass looked against the blue sky, but he still loved being in the lake, it was his home, his world and it always would be. For once he had decided to leave his spear behind, but as usual he still kept a small hunter knife in a belt around his waist.

[Nausicaa Diamantis]

The Black Lake would never be like the sea, but it was the closest thing to it she could find in Hogsmeade. Although Britain was an island, Nausicaa doubted that the sea surrounding it was a pleacant place to swim in. Both the country and its people were cold so the sea was most likely cold as well. Even in the summer the weather was not exactly good, though Nausicaa was glad that her head was not burning because of the bright sun.

The lake was one of the few places that made her feel at home because of the creatures which lived in its depths. There were mers there, just like in Greece and Nausicaa could actually perfectly understand them and not worry about her accent or their accent because she knew mermish and their language was the same everywhere.

She run towards the lake along with her brother, who said that he wanted to go fishing. That one year he spent at Hogwarts had changed him to a proper English boy and Nausicaa was not sure if she liked it. The two were never close, but it was rather annoying when he acted as if he was some sir.

" Hey there!" Nausicaa shouted to a mer which happened to be there in mermish. Underneath the water she could speak English with it, but above the water they could communicate by speaking mermish. Either way it was fun for Nausicaa.

Priam looked surprised when someone spoke Mermish. His eyes quickly discovered a young girl and a boy. Curious as he was, he swam a little closer to get a better look, but he still kept his torso hidden. His hand quickly rested on his knife, just in case something unexpected happened. Priam had learned that even though they could speak mermish and was young, didn’t mean they couldn’t hurt him. "Hey!" he answered quickly

"What are you doing?" Nausicaa asked the mer as she sat on the ground were the small waves could touch her feet. The lake's waves were not like those at the sea, but they were still something. She quickly removed her shoes and put her feet in the water. She liked the cold feeling after all those hours of wearing shoes.

[Priam]

“Protecting us. Who are you?” he asked and swam once again closer. He would soon need to use his arms to get any closer, because of the depth in the water. He started raising himself and his torso slowly started raising from the water. He got his tail to push him further towards the edge of the water, but he couldn’t see any reason to get any closer. Here he could easily see them, they could see him and they couldn’t touch each other without the other being warmed and get away

[Nausicaa Diamantis]

Nausicaa raised an eyebrow at the rather melodramatic way his words sounded. Even the mers in this country were weird. Still, Nausicaa didn't want to make this mer her enemy, an angry mer was not a nice thing to be around. They were rather good with these spears and he could easily hurt her if he felt threatened by her.

"That's nice." she commented and turned at her brother who was fishing nearby. There was nothing special to be caught in that lake, but she was too lazy to show him that fishing was a waste of time.

"I'm Nausicaa. I live in the town with my siblings and our aunt." she answered to the mer trying to sound friendly.

[Priam]

Priam looked at her with a waiting look in his eyes, but he decided to be friendly towards her, until he saw a reason not to. Priam looked at the other one fishing. He knew it was no threat to the rest of the mers, they knew better that getting on a fish-hook. “Priam, hunter of the mers in this lake.” He answered and smiled for once. He rarely smiled to people he didn’t know, but why not be friendly towards a young girl.

"Do you like it here, Priam?" Nausicaa asked as she looked around her. This Priam was definitely not as fun as the most mers Nausicaa had met during her life. He talked to her as if she was going to randomly start killing people. Certainly not fun. Perhaps it would be a good idea not to swim today or else this mer was going to attack her or something.

[Priam]

”Yes, we are left alone most of the time, but sometimes it is nice to get a view of the other world.” He said and started to feel more relaxed. “Wanna swim? It is a bit boring all alone.” He said, trying to be nice, but it wasn’t a huge part of him. He started opening his belt with his knife so he could leave it, and it that way create less resistance in the water so he could swim faster?

Swim? No, Nausicaa was not going to risk it. Especially when the only person nearby was a terribly swimmer. What if this Priam tried to get her in the water in order to attack her? Nausicaa was usually not a paranoid person, but after she got kidnapped by a goblin she started to be more cautious when it came to trusting magical creatures.

"No thanks, I do not feel like swimming today." Nausicaa said to Priam as she stood from where she was sitting and walked to her brother.

[Priam]

“Some other time maybe.” He said and closed his belt again. “I would have loved to show you some of the lake, staying close to the surface off course, but I won’t force you,” he said and laughed a little. It felt strange laugh, he hardly ever did, but it seemed like a good time. “Tell me something about yourself. Do you go to the school up there?” he said and pointed towards the castle of Hogwarts

"Not yet, next year." Nausicaa answered to the mer. "My brother here is a student there, though." Nausicaa added hoping that the mer wouldn't turn his attention to her brother. They could just leave him fishing, besides, he didn't even bother to say something so far.

"My friend Maxine is going to Hogwarts this year." Nausicaa added with excitement. It was a pity that she had to wait another year, but next year she would go with Prue and that was something, right?

[Priam]

Priam smiled and nodded. “Are you excited?” he asked, only looking at her brother, when he got mentioned. He wasn’t the one talking to Priam, so why even care that much about him. “I’ve heard the school is great, but.” He said but he shrugged his righter shoulder, feeling a little weird.

Of course she was excited! It was Hogwarts! The best thing in England in Nausicaa's opinion. She was going to learn how to use a wand and brew potions and maybe even play Quidditch if that stupid ban was lifted by the time she went to Hogwarts. The merman just couldn't understand, he had spent his whole life in that lake so he had no idea how amazing magic was.

"Of course I am excited!" Nausicaa exclaimed. "Hogwarts is a great place."

[Priam]

“I’m glad you are excited. I hope it is worth the wait. I often watch some of the students when they come down to the lake side during summer or winter. It’s really exciting. Who knows if we will meet again. It might be funny.” He said with a smile. He opened his belt and left it on the rocks where Nausicaa could see it, but it was still under water.
