Something strange happened today. The most beautiful owl I've ever seen flew through the brothel's open window, clutching an envelope in its talons. Curious as I was, I took this envelope. Something told me the owl was waiting for me to do that anyways. I found one of my mothers - one of the brothel whores who raised me - and told her of what happened. She gathered the others and when they were all gathered around, the owl still there as though waiting for something, I opened the envelope and read the enclosed letter.
It sounds silly, but I am a wizard. I always thought there was something strange about me. Tiny puffs of fire would come from my hands when I was angered. Strange things would happen to me. And any patron who abused one of my brothel mother's would find themselves in dire situations, be it boils on their body or simply being rendered incapacitated. So I am to go to school for witches and wizards. I feared as I read the letter that my brothel mothers would disown me; cast me aside for being a heathen, but they did not. They simply laughed and said that they thought there had been something odd about my mother, but they never approached the subject to her.
Ecstatic that I still had the love of them, I set off to write a letter back to the mysterious school as it said they'd be awaiting my reply. I wrote the letter with a jittery hand and gave it to the owl, but he did not budge. So I found a treat for it then it went off through the open window. I am fearful as much as I am excited. I do not know how this magic works and I do not know how different life will be for me from now on. But I am excited to embark upon this adventure. I can not wait to get my supplies. The list is tucked safely in the drawer of my desk. Oh what a marvelous adventure this shall be!

We went to a place called Diagon Alley, just one of my brothel mothers - Natália - and myself. She too is a witch, something called a halfblood. She is the youngest of my brothel mothers and because she has magic she knew where Diagon Alley was. It was a wondrous place, filled with marvelous things indeed! We got my supplies and spent the day just exploring as Natália was loathe to tear me away from the place I was so enamored with.
My wand is silver lime, phoenix tail feather and ten and three quarter inches long. It's a beautiful wand. It's light in color with a carved out handle with vine-like carvings on it. It suits me perfectly and I love it. I can't wait to begin using magic with it. Also, I have gotten myself something of a familiar. It was rather expensive, but Natália said that whatever I wanted I would get. So I got something called a kneazle hybrid. It's part kneazle, part normal cat. It has fluffy, unruly pure white locks with the tail of a lion and is quite a bit bigger than a normal cat. I named her Leora. I'm told that kneazles are more intelligent than cats, and I've noticed that - even though she's only half kneazle - she does seem to hold more wisdom in her eyes.
When we got back to the brothel, Berta gave me an envelope that my mother had tucked away in her desk. I read it, and inside was enclosed a locket with a picture of her. I'd never seen my mother before tonight. She was beautiful! The most beautiful woman I've ever seen in my life. My brothel mother's say I favor her in both looks and mannerism, but my beauty doesn't even begin to compare to hers. The letter made me tear up a bit. At the time, she had no clue whether I'd be a boy or a girl. But she told me of her love for my father, one Enoch Fudge, a one time patron of hers. She told me that she loved me deeply, and that no matter what she'd always be there for me. Perhaps she is in spirit. The letter was beautiful and I will forever treasure it and the locket it came with.

I'm writing this from my bunk at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. In just the first day I've had the strangest experiences! There is a housing system - honestly, it seems silly to me to segregate the students, but I digress. It sorts people based on their most prominent morals and traits. I am what they call a Ravenclaw, though the Sorting Hat debated for over fifteen minutes atop my head on where to place me. Apparently I could have done well in any house. It is the house of wit, intelligence, creativity and individualism, among other things. I find this is quite suiting to me.
After a great feast in what they call the Great Hall we were lead to where we'd reside. I tried to go to the girls dorm, but the stairs turned to a slide and kept me out! Apparently, they are charmed to not allow the opposite gender in them. A fair bit of the other students regard me oddly. I suppose it isn't every day that a boy dresses like a girl in daily life, but I honestly don't see the big deal. Regardless, I am forced to share a dorm with boys and they all seem a bit...well, not scared of me. But weary. I'm sure it will blow over soon, however.
It was an incredible evening. Though the few times I felt a bit...out of place, I just held the locket that holds a picture of my mother and knew that everything would be just fine. Does it sound silly to say that I think she's watching over me?

I've been in school for almost two weeks now. I seem to be taking up charmwork rather well. It's very fun being a witch, if I do say so myself. Some students are still acting weird towards me. There are even a few who call me an abomination! I suppose it's no secret that I'm a boy, though I continue to dress as a girl. Not that I was really going for secrecy. I'm not ashamed of who I am, so I don't understand why other's seem to worry so much over it.
I mentioned to a few girls my Veela mother. I didn't know that they were so different from normal witches and wizards, but apparently they are. Some of the girls said that explains why I'm so beautiful. Another said she was jealous that I was half-veela. I went to the library to check out a book. Apparently they're known for their temper, and in the throes of anger, their faces morph to cruel beaked creatures and they are able to shoot fire from their palms. It's very interesting to think that my mother was one of those creatures. But it also says that they are unnaturally appealing to others. I guess it makes sense. I've always had many admirers, though I don't believe that is solely because of my Veela heritage.
I've joined the Charms Club to further my social life. It is weird being around magical folk. Though some of my brothel mothers had magic, I never knew nor was I introduced to the magical world. It's quite different. My magic, however, has a habit of betraying me at random moments. I'm told this is because being a half-breed like I am it affected my magic. But usually I have good control over my magic. Overall, I really enjoy being here, though I miss the brothel. I write them often and I suppose that's enough for now.
