Appearance: From as early as she can remember, Andria has been told how pretty she is. She was cooed over and spoiled as a child for her pretty blonde hair and her dainty features. She was reasonably slender and while somewhat angular, in possession of curves enough to disguise this. At full height she stands at 5'3" and is surprisingly light as she has a thin frame as opposed to a more solid one. Andria is right handed in all matters and uses.
She wears fine clothes and jewels and has a great fondness for keeping right up to the minute in fashions and dressing as flatteringly as she can. While she might not be crafty with matters of her husband, she most certainly does know how to dress to impress.
History: Alexandria was the first and only child born to Alexander and Delilah Rosier. She was born quickly and perfectly healthy, however, within hours her mother grew seriously ill. While she managed to survive, she was left unable to have any more children. Consequently, Alexandria would always be their only child and the sole heir to the family fortune. She wasn't son they had wanted but she was treated like a princess nonetheless.
Her mother doted on her severely and as a small child she was often paraded in front of her mother's friends to be scrutinized and praised. She was not a particularly clever or inquisitive child, more obedient and quiet but she adored flattery and still does. She was barely four years old when she displayed her first signs of magic at one of her mother's summer tea parties and made the table legs shrink when she found herself frustrated and unable to see over table. A great fuss was made over for this accidental accomplishment and within a few months, it had been arranged that she would marry Lucius Lestrange upon turning eighteen and leaving Hogwarts.
The remainder of her childhood was spent being molded and trained to be the perfect society wife for Lucius. She was treated like a china doll; dressed in the finest clothing, fussed over at the slightest injury or illness and generally treated like a little princess. She needed little correction and absorbed what she was taught of good breeding, etiquette and propriety like the most absorbent of sponges. Andria was extremely well behaved and while outsiders might have called her an angel because she was always well behaved and a very pretty child, those who cared to observe her for personality would find her quite... dull. She had little to no imagination, no strong opinions, no passion and no ambition; she lived to do as she was told.
By age eleven, the most trouble she had ever gotten herself into was tripping on a cobblestone and muddying a brand new dress. Her long awaited Hogwarts letter finally arrived and by September of 1850 she was beginning her first year of education and was sorted into Hufflepuff. It soon became clear that she was a fairly intelligent student as far as academics went, so long as it didn't require a great deal of natural talent. She exceeded at charms but otherwise was quite average in her studies.
During her first year of school, her mother managed to defy the Healer's expectations and fell pregnant and during the second month of Andria's second year, her mother passed away in childbirth as had the younger brother she would have had. While she was naturally upset by this news, she was not the sort to openly show those emotions and so mourned internally while her change to darker dresses remained the only sign of her sadness.
When she turned fourteen, she finally met the man she had been betrothed to for ten years. Lucius Lestrange was everything expected though she wasn't very talkative when they met for she had no idea what she ought to say. She was rather nonplussed by the meeting as she had long accepted her fate that she was to marry him, the entire arrangement seemed perfectly normal to her.
Alexandria's OWLs and NEWTs were straight Es and she was very content with them. She was not a particularly remarkable student but she studied hard to achieve the grades that she did and was very content with them. Just over a month after graduating from Hogwarts in 1858, Alexandria married Lucius Lestrange and began the life she had been raised for.
By August of the next year, Andria has had her first child; the son and heir every father wants. She did not take naturally to motherhood; she was nervous and awkward around her own son and fussed unnecessarily. She found more peace of mind in withdrawing completely from any mothering duties and leaving it wholly and completely to hired staff. When Claude turned three, she finally felt confident enough around the boy to actually establish a relationship with him and took quickly to doting on him as she in turn had been doted on by her own mother - bows, lace, frills and curls aside. Despite this, she was still distant with him as though afraid he was so fragile that she might hurt him.
On her twenty-seventh birthday, she gave birth to their second child and first daughter. She had feared the same fate as her mother but instead proved far more sturdy and recovered very quickly, quick enough that she managed to conceive again shortly after and so less than a year later, welcomed a second son and third child. Being so busy with carrying children, she had little time to even consider bonding with Valeria and after Cassius' birth, took a while to return to perfect health. Her children were strangers to her and more of a distance had grown between herself and Claudius and she threw herself into her social life which came far easier than child-rearing. She had not even had the benefit of younger siblings to teach her how to deal with young children.
In April of 1870, the couple's second daughter was born. It was a far less taxing experience on her as she had plenty of time to recover from her last child. While she was still not really comfortable around her own children, she began to wish for a closer relationship with them though she had no idea how to go about this. She presumed any attention was good attention, even if that attention was more along the lines of critiquing them and nagging them. Past that, she had no idea what to do with them. The loss of her eldest child to Hogwarts that September brought home the fact that her children were actually aging, this pushed her to try and bond with her children once more but it was still with a rather half-hearted and tentative manner that she attempted this.
New Years day of 1873 saw the arrival of their final child and third daughter. With Claude away at school and the ever approaching reality that the others will eventually follow, it is with a panicked sort of attempt that she tries to bond with her youngest though only succeeds in upsetting the infant. Feeling spurned and unwanted by her children, she throws herself into socializing instead.
After Tybalt went on his insane rampage and was sent to Azkaban, Andria was privately unhappy about Lucius' decision to take in Tiberius out of fear of the boy. So unusually strong is this reluctance, she questions Lucius' decisions perhaps for the first time in the history of their marriage and quickly learns her silence is definitely preferred. Thankfully, Tiberius goes off to Hogwarts a month later and Alexandria feels far less threatened in her own home as well as glad that her sister-in-law took the younger sister concluding that the pair of them are likely as weird and disturbing as each other. The following April, Andria's father passed away quite without warning and she inherited the entire family fortune, though naturally it all went to Lucius' control.
In the meantime, she gave up on bonding with her younger children and perhaps for her lack of trying, Cornelia seemed to take to her unexpectedly and while she didn't encourage this hugely with masses of affection, she never pushed her away instead partaking in 'ladylike' activities such as needlework and allowed her daughters to sit with her if they wished. Though she didn't often make conversation with them, she felt satisfied that she was fulfilling her duties as a mother in that way. The discovery of Seneca's metamorphmagus abilities set her on edge for a while as she was concerned Lucius might suspect her of adultery as it was a trait neither possessed. She has since gotten used to it, however, though it unnerves her when she sees it in action.
Now with only one child still home all year, Alexandria spends her time enjoying social gatherings, occasionally encouraging Seneca to spend time with her and fearing various relatives such as Mariana, Lysistrata but mainly Tiberius, who frankly makes her feel inclined to jump out of the nearest window when in the same room as him. Her recent and first independent action in her entire life to betroth Claudius to the daughter of her good friend, has also earned her the wrath of her husband and the cold-shoulder from her son.
Personality: Alexandria is a quiet woman of little words, even when among her circle of friends. She is not very opinionated and while she had the potential to be an intelligent woman, she was encouraged from a very young age not to think and so has no idea how to use the common sense she was born with. She is a very dependent woman and is rather helpless in all matters that don't involve throwing social events, procreation and looking pretty. She's not a boastful woman, though she is very aware of her assets she is just not the sort to speak of them. She is very good at doing as she is told and being an obedient creature and very rarely acts on her own accord unless she is of a firm belief that she is doing something quite acceptable to all. Andria is a fussing and nagging sort, however, she does it in such a way that it is not so much what she is saying that irritates but her lack of commitment to her nags as she is very tentative and unsure of herself when it comes to it.
