I also suppose I could use the help of someone with Brody, but refuse to hand him over to some random wetnurse. I want to take care of my son, and the only help I want is from family. Yes, this means that you are officially considered family now. I'm pretty sure Dad's finally gotten over the whole 'knocked up my daughter thing' enough to be super nice to you, so long as he saw you trying. It took long enough to convince him that I could just finish out my studies outside of school and be just as well off as anyone else, but I think he finally got the point.
