EVENT ANNOUNCER - ROUND 1 After spending three and three-quarters hours wandering through the maze of the Ministry with several cramped lift rides (at least one having been uncomfortably haunted by a grumpy and blood purist old ghost), you have been given your supplies and map stuffed into a grey knapsack. If you are the first group member, you have also been given the responsibility of caring for a Ministry owl and are told to keep it with you at all times - you don't need to worry about feeding it, as it can hunt for itself. Then, you are shown the door and instructed to meet with your group members at a designated spot. You are also issued a harsh reminder of the consequences of being a deserter before you're shoved out into the spring's early morning sunlight.
The adventure has begun.
You have been informed that your group members are:
Nero Bloxam, 19, Wizengamot Court Scribe, Upper Class Marius, known as Marius Sinnet, officially: 37, Wealthy man Oxford Lovegood, 28, Wizengamot Interrogator, Upper Class Sophronia van Helsing, 21, vampire hunter, upper class Isabelle Peverell , 17, Sixth Year Slytherin, Upper Class
You introduce yourselves, review your maps, and then must come to a decision of which direction you need to start in.
Which part of Hogsmeade do you disembark from? a. West Slums b. East Slums c. South Slums
OOC DIRECTIONS: 1.) Have your character introduce themselves. Mention in their post (doesn't have to spoken aloud) what else, if anything, they have brought with them. If it isn't mentioned here, then they won't have it later on in the trail unless it is found/made. Those who post first will be assumed to have spoken first.
2.) Assume all introductions have been made and then have them choose a direction/remain neutral. Points 1 and 2 should both be included in your character's first post.
3.) If the group comes to a decision before the round ends, you can have your group head in that direction. (Decisions will be made when all characters have had a turn to state their choice or the three days are up. Special instances are allowed and must be discussed with Lola.)

So the day had come. Isabelle was dressed in a comfortable dark red dress which suited well the red of her hair. She was kind of worried about wearing red for an expedition to the woods, but this particular red dress was the most comfortable she possessed. Her hair was collected at the top of her head.
She received her supplies and then she waited for her team-mates. Isabelle had brought her wand, obviously, a small romance book and some stupid necklace that was supposed to protect her from vampires. Isabelle was sure that her parents were probably freaking out right now, due to the fact she got drafted.
Her team-mates soon arrived, they introduced herself and then they started to examine their maps. After some concideration, Isabelle quietly suggested. " What about West Slums?"
Sophronia had spent her morning preparing. The trousers underneath her skirt were just so that she maintained the guise of being a well-mannered young van Helsing in the public's eye. Her shirt was a simple blouse that she didn't particularly care for, and she was far more concerned with the knife-holding belt she had on under her skirt. Her wand was tucked into a pocket built into the skirt, her hair was pinned up simply, and she wasn't bringing garlic to spare herself explaining it.
She lounged at the meeting place, a half-smile on her face, making note of her teammates. She was watching the girl to protect her from a vampire, (one she would certainly be trying to find soon,) and the other three were men. She inspected the men in particular; she had never heard of them before, and, as such, was suspicious.
"I'm Sophronia van Helsing," she introduced. "Call me Roni." It was not a 'you-can-etc.' question. She had no plans on dealing with being summoned by 'Sophronia' until the expeditions were over.
At the redheaded Peverell's suggestion, Roni pulled out her map for a second and squinted at it. (Never mind that she had already memorized most maps of Hogsmeade during her hunts.) "Well," she said. "If we don't mind venturing into an area we know has dangerous magical creatures, it looks like a great place to start. I agree." Perhaps the Peverell was more useful than the man Artemis had gotten pregnant by...

Marius spent a lot of time for preparations to this expedition. He was a vampire and he needed to hide it from all people. He wore this day long, hooded cloak and the rest of his usual outfit for hunts. He knew that it might look suspicious, but it was better than exposing himself on daylight. He brought with himself weapons: two long daggers and a bow.
“I am Marius Sinnet, it is pleasure to meet all of you” he introduced himself just like anyone else. It was uncomfortable, knowing that among them there was a vampire hunter and he was a vampire. One of the oldest in Hogsmeade, in fact. Of course, we can head west, but words of miss Van Helsing we should take under consideration. I believe that all of you know how to defend yourself.”

Why is a raven like a writing desk?
Nero was quite keen to go on the expedition. He felt a strange pang of something painful in nature at the thought of not being able to Xene for however long the trip would last but he wasn't entirely sure he knew why. Nevertheless, he had prepared for the trip as well as he could, packing all that he could think of that could possibly be necessary for the journey. The last thing he wanted to be was unprepared in any way.
Having arrived at the Ministry in good time and found his way very easily to collect his basic supplies (he worked there after all!), he hastily made his way to the meeting point for his group. Having decided that he only needed a few changes of clothes, his wand, a couple spell books he thought might help, the bracelet Xene had given him that he privately cherished, a little money and his prized violin just in case the people in his group wished for a little music to lighten the atmosphere.
Finally finding his group and the majority of them all assembled there already he smiled sheepishly at them all. "Please excuse me if I am late. My name is Nero Bloxam," he introduced with a slight incline of his head. He hoped they would all get along well together, he hated to think of an inharmonious group and how unpleasant that could turn out. Not wanting to disrupt the peace, he went with what seemed to be the general consensus of going west. "I think west would be a good choice, if that is where everyone thinks we should go." He was quite nervous really. He was not a big extrovert, on the contrary he was very shy and withdrawn most of the time but he wanted the group to like him though how to go about making that so was something he had not decided on quite yet.

Do you continue with where you're headed or do you turn back and choose a different direction?

OOC DIRECTIONS 1.) Have your character vote which route they are to take.

Still slightly hungover and in a rather foul mood, Oxford Lovegood complained his way through the Ministry, the lifts, and the rather unkind shove outside. He wasn’t happy to be here and he didn’t care who knew it. It did not help that they were leaving out of the damned slums. Ugh, he was too rich for this mockery of progress. This was servants work. Disgruntled, Oxford did not readily introduce himself, but had to when he was the last to speak up. “Oxford Lovegood,” he snarled, “Now can we get on with this, please?” They argued for a bit over where to leave from. Ox pinched the bridge of his nose and tried not to think about how badly he’d hurt Lionel’s feelings or how glad he was that he wasn’t in the same group as his damned wife. Immediately, Marius and the overly-anxious Bloxam got on his last nerve. “Oh, let’s just go. Someone start walking!” Sadly, that hadn’t turned out like he hoped. They started walking…and kept walking…and kept walking…and kept walking. Oxford had packed nothing, and only had what the Ministry had given him. By the end of the day, he was sorely aggrieved that he hadn’t packed some more comfortable clothes, especially shoes. “This is madness. We must turn back.”

Isabelle was sligthly impressed that she didn't complain all these long hours of walking. Her feet were certainly not made for hiking in the woods and her pale skin was way too sensitive. The bugs annoyed her, and she could feel sweat rolling on her skin. By the end of the day she would probably look like the girls who lived in the Slums. The red-head felt kind of silly for wearing such a beautiful velvet dress in the woods. Maybe once she returned home, she could gift it to one of her servants.
Suddenly, one of the men of the group, Mr Lovegood suggested turning back. Isabelle had never been a person who liked quitting, and she honestly could walk a few more hours. They didn't seem to find anything yet, but giving up wouldn't help them much anyway. What if they had almost reached their destination? It would be silly to stop now, because this Mr Lovegood man was tired. Truth to be told, Isabelle didn't really like the man.
" I think we should keep going. Our destination could be just a few hours away from us, it would be a pity if we lost the opportunity to reach the end of this journey." Isabelle spoke, turning her bright blue eyes to the man, almost prepared for his protest.

Roni had been through worse, she decided. This walk was similar, so far, to some of the training she had gone through before being a full-fledged vampire hunter. And there wasn't even threat of death yet.
Of course, it could have been more interesting.
Sophronia shrugged. "If we keep going, there's a chance that we'll just find more forest. But if we turn back, there's a chance that we won't find anything," she said, studying the hooded man out of the corner of her eye. If anyone was a vampire, it was that one. Mister Bloxam seemed to nervous, and the Lovegood was too.... grumpy about the travelling. He was her favorite, she had decided.
"I don't mind either way," she admitted, shrugging. "Either way, I'm getting out of this damned skirt." Roni took her wand from her pocket and vanished the skirt back to her room at home with a wave of it. She stuck the wand in the trouser pocket. A corner of her blouse had bunched under the belt of knives and she fixed it, hoping for a way to gauge the mysterious Sinnet's reaction. Should've brought my garlic.

Nero felt very awkward with so many females around. It was true that there were only two of them but when they were in such small company... Well it made him nervous. If only Xene could have come along... And then Miss Van Helsing had to remove her skirt! Nero turned bright pink and had to look away with hideous embarrassment at his own obviousness. The trip was turning out to be most uncomfortable!
As soon as he had recovered himself, he finally spoke up about what they ought to do, wanting very much to be of help and to befriend at least someone in the group. Turned to look back at the group, "I think... I think we should keep going," he suggested before catching sight of Miss Van Helsing again and feeling the need to turn his face as far away from the rest of the group as was possible without getting a crick in his neck. Mussing his hair slightly, he hoped to rearrange it enough so he could disguise the color in his face better from the others.

They do however, refill your rations for you (including water) and remind you to write to them if anything interesting is discovered.

It was hard to believe that these people he’d been stuck with on this mission to Hell were actually dim enough to want to keep going. Hadn’t they walked aimlessly enough? They were all quite taxing, in his opinion. That Nero kid needed to get laid. The Marius fellow needed to stop trying to be mysterious in his stupid, out of style cloak. The Peverell girl hadn’t done anything, but exist, yet he still found her wholly intolerant. The Van Helsing was tolerable, but mostly because she was famous. Well, her family was famous. She was worthy of his time, and appropriately wealthy enough for him to be seen talking to her. Out of all of them, she was the only one he could speak to without snapping at her.
Finally, they made camp for the night and, in a shocking moment of clarity, they decided to head back the next morning. Oxford didn’t mind throwing out constant ‘I told you so’s. Once they had returned, been re-rationed, and sent back out into this silly folly, Oxford looked around as they tried to make a decision. “Well, this bloody misadventure is has already gone South, so we might as well follow suit.”

Couldn't they leave this Lovegood primadona behind? Isabelle tried hard not to yell at him. Couldn't he stop with the " I don't you.'? It was not that he had a better idea. They would return to the damn village anyway. Even writing essays seemed better than this stupid expedition.
Isabelle decided not to make any decisions. If Lovegood thought that he was smarter than all of them, then he could be their leader. " South sounds fine." Isabelle agreed with a cold voice, raising her eyebrows at the man.
Once they started walking, Isabelle made sure she walked as far as Lovegood as she could. Maybe she was acting like a spoiled child, but she did no care. If she was going to spend her time in the woods, she wanted to at least spend it with pleasant people.
Like Nero. He seemed nice.
" This is madness, don't you agree, Mr Bloxam?" Isabelle asked the man, walking a bit closer to him. At least he was not a drama queen like the other man. Besides, he had agreed with her the previous time. Maybe she could make some friends in the group.

Sophronia was not pleased to be back at the Ministry. Not pleased at all. She took the time to fix her hair and get clean again, and read the paper. Nothing interesting had happened. Again she was intrigued by her mysterious comrade, but only marginally so.
Roni was all for letting her grumpy companion call some of the shots. "South sounds great," she said sarcastically, fiddling with one of her knives.
She had half a mind to talk to Isabelle, but the girl seemed to be preoccupied with talking to Mr. Bloxam. So Roni decided to try with the other two, and possibly get more information about Mr. Sinnett.
"When we get back for real," she said, "I say we force all the damned Ministry officials in charge of this adventure to go walk around the woods for a few weeks."

The night for him was a relief. He could remove his hood and cloak and actually enjoy being out of home. It was long time since his last long journey and the druid almost forgot how it felt like. Human stayed for the night and he vanished for an hour or so to hunt something to eat. When he returned, most of them already slept. He smiled and silently sat down and leaned his back against tree, closing his eyes. At least he could pretend that he was sleeping.
Following morning they came back to Hogsmeade and were forced to go back. Damn, humans. Marius was irritated, because nobody could order him, however if he wanted to keep up with appearance he had to pretend and swallow his pride. "I'll be pleased to force the Minister for a few weeks long walk" Marius said, smiling politely to miss Van Helsing and eyeing the Ministry official. He had the hood on his head again. "Well, south sounds good." He shrugged his shoulders watching as miss Van Helsing was playing with her knives. Unconsciously, his hand moved to belt to make sure that dagger was still there and quiver was on its place on his back.
