History: James was born in the middle of July, the second child to the Grey family. His mother perished in December of that year. He wasn't even two years old when his father remarried, adding four new people to the family. James doesn't interact much with the new family members; Palamon is too old to be fun, and as Becky doesn't like the twins, he avoids them.)
As he got older and drummed it into his psyche that Charity was not his mother, she added two new children to the family. James wasn't quite sure what to do with them, but figured that they were mostly okay. Better than the twins and Charity, at least. Six months after Ellory's birth, Jamie's father died, and
In 1877, Cecilia and Blanche received letters inviting them to go to Hogwarts School of Witchcraft & Wizardry. The entire clan had to adapt to the idea that there even was magic, and James had just come to the conclusion that there would be less Chaucers when Becky received her own letter. He was less-than-pleased about that, but managed to keep calm and promise to write her letters.
During the school year, James was left alone with Charity and the kids. His stepmother took to trying to get close to him in an attempt to get ahold of his inheritence - which his uncle had put into land until he came of age - and Jamie took to busting out of the house for a few hours in the afternoon. He wasn't sure how the door always ended up being unlocked when he came home, but he didn't question it. (He never would have believed it was magic!)
James continues to write letters to Becky and hang around outside the house, with no intention of ever bonding with his stepmother.
Personality: While genuinely nice, Jamie often lets those he adores determine whether or not he likes someone. He has a firm grasp on the concept of mortality and greatly enjoys spending time outside, either by himself or with others.
