Everything should be updated. Please make sure everything is correct for your characters as well as double checking so that you don't have any characters in the same group. Staff should also make sure that their characters aren't paired with any other staff members' characters.

Also I've just realized that I haven't mentioned how this will work exactly. It's fashioned after the Oregon Trail Game. For those who haven't played, you can read more about it here.

The Hogsmeade Trail (thanks to Miss Olive for the name) is fashioned the same way as the game. Group members will be given a number of choices throughout the exploration that will direct them to certain discoverable areas. Some choices will yield certain results, while others while allow other prompts to pop up. These prompts will be controlled by the staff. Group members will need to discuss their options and come to a decision (perhaps by taking a vote if need be) so that the adventure can continue on. Not every group will have the same adventure (unless they all make the same decisions, which would be rare) and not every group is going to make it until the very end.

When will this plot start exactly and what should us groups who already are formed be doing? Should one of out characters be designated as a leader of the group?

Technically, the plot has started now. The exploring will begin in the middle of May. It's up to the characters and players of how they want to get their groups prepared.

What would this letter say? Could we maybe have a mock-up, addressed to "Dear Sir" or some such, so that I know how to react IC?

Just a curious question: Are stowaways possible?

Are we supposed to actually thread out our characters reporting to the ministry as soon as we get placed into a group? Or are we under the assumption it's going to happen?

Military drafts in real life were pretty blunt and to the point. I fashioned this after one of those.

They'd have to be really tricky about doing it, since the Ministry is going to be keeping close tabs on all of the groups. I also don't really see the point of being a stowaway, unless they're an adreneline junkie that wants an adventure. Stowaways wouldn't be given the award money or land.

We don't have any IC character actually in charge of the draft currently, we're just using NPCs, so I would say just assume it's going to happen, unless you just want a read-only thread where he goes to check in and whatnot. Once he checks in, he'll be informed whom his group members are.
