I hope the Ministry hasn’t fallen entirely apart in my absence—no doubt the old codgers in the Wizengamot are glad to be rid of me for a few weeks. Don’t even try to deny it. Denmark is far less...strange than India was, and I don’t half mind my time here, though it lacks the perks of being home.

I am writing quickly between meetings, as I feel the need to tell someone and there are only so many people I might contact before it is a done deal: I have asked permission of Mr. Leonard Whitlock to give his daughter an offer of marriage, and he has consented. I intend to do so upon my return to Hogsmeade and no doubt will feel the need to go get drunk afterwards. Prepare yourself.

You know how they are, Darcy. They are never pleased with anything. Everything is alright here in the Ministry, though it is rather boring without your presence, Darcy.

You did what? I cannot believe that you are getting married before me, Darcy! Isn't Ms Whithlock the petite redhead you were escorting during the Flamel's ball? I must admit that you look nice together.

I wish you the best of luck, Darcy. I hope that her father isn't one of those over-protective ones.

PS. My father recently bought a two hundred years old Firewhiskey.
