Loretta sat primly at her desk and watched the owl preen it's canary yellow feathers in suspicion it's brilliant yellow eyes were wide as wide as only an owls could be and made the fifteen year old wonder if by any chance it was possible to fine tune the spell and turn the birds eyes a less unnerving colour. She tried her best to ignore the Slytherin's with all her might as she usually did during lessons... a fact that the accident prone Sorcha MacFusty made almost impossible... and try as she might she couldn't see why the girl was popular.... or why so many of the boys that she had liked in the past had preferred to give the MacFusty attention. Loretta scrunched up her nose and decided that perhaps she should turn her attentions elsewhere and onto somebody completely different from the boys she usually fell in love with. It was a new year afterall. A new year a new love that's how it was supposed to go.

The bird blinked... owlishly at her and she considered asking Odira or Gideon if it was possible to just turn the birds eyes a different colour but...if anything went wrong Professor Ollivander was there to fix things afterall. Loretta pointed her wand at the bird and said the charm and grinned when the birds eyes turned a pretty azurian blue but didn't stay localized as the entire bird turned azure. She sighed and wondered if she should ask the teacher when she realised that they'd moved forward in the lesson. She switched her wand for her quill but didn't wet it with ink as she went to tentatively raise her hand into the air.

"You could use it to change the colour of robes to suit different occassions... and I suppose if you were in a situation where you had discovered a stain that couldn't be hidden any way else." She tilted her headside ways and then added. "I suppose you could also change the colour of your hair if it clashed with a colour dress you wanted to wear... it might also be useful if you didn't want..." She trailed off realising that possibly it wouldn't seem appropriate for a girl to be suggesting ways to avoid being recognised. It'd be just as good as saying that she had been in situations where she'd wanted to avoid recognition. She then blushed. Her answers probably sounded so stupid and she wished she'd thought before she'd put her hand up.

OOC: Going to wrap this up since it's old. ^^

"A very practical point, Miss Browne, very lovely," She responded with a small smile before writing the idea on the board. The rest of the class went by rather quickly for her. At first, students seemed reluctant to give any answers. However by the end of the class, she couldn't write the answers down quickly enough. They had come up with a lot more ideas than she had imagined they might, which made the list they had to finish off quite small. It wouldn't take them very long at all. Violet supposed that that would make them happy. One evening's break from homework wouldn't be all that horrible.

The woman had them replace the owls back onto their desks, turned each of the birds back to its original state (some were much more difficult to change than others), and then dismissed the class. It had gone very well and she settled herself down at her desk for a cup of tea to enjoy before she received her next class. She turned Puck back to his usual state, but he threw such a fit of feathers and dust, she switched him right back to blue. Apparently, he wanted to resemble a feathery blueberry for the rest of the day.
