In Character
Full Name: Constance Marie Hatchitt
Nicknames: Connie
Birthdate: December 31st, 1864
Current Age: Seventeen years of age
Occupation: Sixth year student at Hogwarts
Hogwarts House: Gryffindor
Wand: North American Pine, Unicorn Hair core, 7 1/2 Inches, Yielding
Blood Status: Half-Blood
Social Class: Middle Class

Family:

Family

  • Beatrice Hatchitt née Podmore [Thirty-Seven years of age]

Beatrice is Connie's mother and that is that. Connie has an outstanding relationship with her mother due to their similar personalities. However she hates how her mother is agreeing with her father's efforts to marry her off to some wealthy man that is some sort of pedophile.

  • Rufus Hatchitt [Fourty-Four years of age]

Constance hates her father. She hates her father's aspirations for her. She hates his need of solitude. She wishes he'd drop dead. He's the reason she'd never allow a friend to court her, because in the end her father has all control over who she marries.

  • Gabe Hatchitt [Nineteen Years of Age]

Gabe is without a doubt one of Connie's favorite people to be around. The two mesh well, they suit one another. The only family member Connie prefers over Gabe is her twin Jesse. She has hopes that Gabe will one day man up and get married, and then she laughs at herself at those ideas. Although, she secretly harbors the hope that her brother will court Dianna, she sees the pair as a perfect duo.

  • Jesse Hatchitt [Sixteen years of Age]

    TBA

  • Victoria Hatchitt [Fifteen years of age]

Connie isn't sure how she feels about her younger sister. Like any sisters, growing up they fought over things that they believed "belonged" to them. Although now, she's more than likely to consider Victoria much more suited for marriage than herself. She's more than likely to shove any potential suitors in her direction.

  • Josiah Hatchitt [Fourteen years of age]

Josiah and Connie are siblings, and that is pretty much all they share in common. She dislikes him slightly for resembling their father so much.

  • Mercy Hatchitt

    TBA

  • Lester Hatchitt [Eleven years of age]

She doesn't have any preference towards Lester. He's almost six years younger than her so they did not grow up together as she did with Gabe and Jesse.

Friends
  • Dianna Crew [Deceased]

Ianna, Connie's best friend in the world, died on April 21, 1882. Prior to Dianna's death, Connie and she hadn't spoken in nearly three months. Connie has taken Dianna's death as though she herself died.

Appearance:

Constance looks much like her older brother, with her thick wavy brown hair and her darker eyes. Unlike her brother though, she's on the shorter side, standing only at five feet five inches. She is extremely muscular, and nearly flat chested. Connie wears her school colors proudly on almost every article of her clothing, even her pajamas are red and gold. She uses her right hand for everything and feels uncomfortable using her left hand for anything other than getting dressed or catching a quaffle. Though, as of April of '82 she has been losing an excessive amount of weight due to inactivity, not eating, and not sleeping.

History:

Childhood
Connie is born as the second child to Rufus and Beatrice Hatchitt. It had been a peaceful pregnancy. Bea had gotten larger than she had with her first child, Gabe, but she alotted it to having already had a child. Bea and Rufus were in no way expecting twins. But twins they were, two wailing, flailing infants. At first Beatrice had no idea what to do with two babies. Feeding one had been hard enough, was she supposed to nurse two? Sure Rufus and her were capable of raising three children but their finicial resources did not provide them with the ability to hire a wet nurse. And so it was that Bee fed them both.

The twins moved in a rotation, Jesse first, even though he was younger, followed closely by a whimpering Connie. It wasn't to say that Jesse was the more favored of the twins, for in fact Connie most likely was, but Connie was an extremely heavy sleeper and would sleep for longer periods of time than Jesse. This was a trait that followed Connie throughout her life, trying to wake her was trying to resurrect the dead --nearly impossible.

They were not truly introduced to their elder brother until their first birthday. By this time Bee was pregnant again, not that a one year old would notice such things, but such a minor detail is necessary for the year that followed. Connie took a liking to her older brother, she struggled to learn to walk sooner so that she could follow him. She squealed and chatted until she was able to form words complex enough to talk to him. Jesse, Gabe, and Connie became a dynamic triplet.

Victoria's birth did not sit well with the bubbly toddler. Up unti that moment she had been the only girl in the family, she was everyone's favorite because she was so damn cute. But suddenly there was this intruder on her land, and she had no clue how to adjust to that. So she did what any baby would do, she turned up her adorableness and pulled her brothers closer to her. She didn't need her parents' constant attention, Connie was perfectly content running wild with her brothers.Perhaps if her initial acceptance of Victoria had occured, the two would be closer now. The past is the past though and what's done is done. As time would go on Connie would come to realize she disliked pratically all of her siblings.

Constance exhibited her first sign of magic at age five. Victoria had taken a ball Jesse and Connie had been playing with, so Connie turned the air filled ball into a bowling ball. Sure she regretted it later, and Victoria's toes were broken as a result, she couldn't control it though --it wasn't her fault.

Her best memory is her first quidditch game. Connie can't remember who played, nor who won. What she does remember is how the snitch hovered above the crowd, how the goal keeper fell off his broom and shattered his arm, how her father held her high up in the air, how the team her father wanted to win, won. Her father celebrated with getting drunk at a nearby pub and having Gabe get the twins and himself home. Constance didn't want to leave, she wanted to get drunk off carbonated beverages alongside her father.

She didn't realize she spoke with an accent until she was nine. By this point all of her surviving siblings had been born, and she was spending at least three months a year with her Irish grandparents in London. Connie loved the months she spent with her Nana and Granda. But during one of their outings in the city, Connie realized something, these people did not speak like her. They spoke with some dainty voice that drove the young girl crazy. And so it was, Connie had a moderate Irish accent.

Expectedly, her acceptance letter to Hogwarts arrived on her and Jesse's birthday. She had been thinking of the school since her older brother left two years prior to go, she wanted to learn how to transform things, and fly, and cast charms. She wanted to be apart of that world. But, like all good things, there was a fault. Her father began coaching her, telling her all the little tricks to snag a good man's eye. First off, it was awkward to hear courting tips from your father when you were only eleven. Second off, she had no intentions of ever getting married. She wanted to play quidditch for the rest of her life. She didn't want to be tied down in some middle class house with fifty bubbling kids and a never ending headache. Thanks, but no thanks.

Hogwarts

Her first year in Hogwarts was among the best and the worse. She met her best friend, Dianna, during their sorting. The pair clicked better than Connie ever imagined she'd be able to with a girl. They ended up sharing a room, which at the time it was three people to a room, and enjoying pretty much everything together. However, Hugo Pendergast ruined a lot of her happiness. Hugo spoke to her as if she were the scum on the bottom of his shoes, and Connie hated it. How dare someone be so flat out rude? It didn't help that they were both fans of quidditch. No, it only made the competition more intense.

Unlike her first year, her second to fifth years went by much smoothly. She made the quidditch team in her second year as a second string seeker. Her third year she moved up to first year, becoming a female seeker for the Gryffindor team. Connie loved the attention. All eyes were on her as she and the opposing seeker whizzed all over the field chasing after the snitch. She won more often than not. Her relationship with Dianna only grew because of this, her friendship with Hugo also matured and became an actual friendship. She was happy. Nobody questioned her, everyone in her house loved her --even if she was annoying at times.

And then the scandal happened. The Slytherin girls that ruined Connie's chances of being scouted by a professional quidditch team. She was frustrated with them, because of those girls, Constance was more than likely going to end up married to some thirty year old man that was old enough to be her father. None of this was fair. Constance's anger at the ban led to the expulsion of her best friend, something she still had not forgiven herself for. Ianna had to leave the school because of Connie's brash actions. And now Ianna's bed is filled with some stranger who believes Connie is insane.

In December of 1881, Connie began a scandalous relationship with Cailean Beckett-beater on the Gryffindor quidditch team.

Personality:

Defining Characteristics

  • Outwardly Confident: Connie is known for her loud mouth and "strong" mentality. She act as if she is "all that" and on most days she believes it. She tries to give no reason for people to dislike her, even though most 'proper' people do.
  • Passionate: She treats life as if it is a gift that she personally has been handed by some greater force. Connie is fearful of dying because she is so happy to simply be alive. When she loves someone, she loves them with all her heart. When she hates someone, she hates them with every fiber of her being, although she does not like to use the word hate because life is too short to go through hating others.
  • Athletic: This goes really without saying. For her whole life she has been 'one of the boy's' and in order to be one of the boys you need too act like one. So throughout the duration of her childhood and for the past fovea years at Hogwarts, she has been a star on the Gryffindor quidditch team. She was probably better than half the boys on her team, and she had no problem admitting it. But the newly installed ban, stupid and pointless in her mind, has taken her ability to play quidditch away.
  • Slightly Obnxious: She doesn't even realize she's doing it most of the time. Connie is 'that girl' in the classroom who is loud and talkitive, which quite frequently leads her to the head master's Office. Not that she doesn't mind angering her dear friend Phinny.
  • Reluctant to be Proper: Connie is one of the types of people that would much rather be rolling around in the mud than drinking tea in some parlor. She knows she's not cut out to be some dutiful housewife, and she looks forward to joining a professional quidditch team after graduating.
  • Rebelious: As mentioned above, Connie enjoys breaking the norm. She hates the expectations that have been laid on her shoulders. She feels extremely trapped in her current situation.

Underlying Characteristics

  • Insecure: Deep, deep, deep inside her rough exterior, Connie is extremely insecure. She feels as if she'll never be enough to prove herself of worth to her family. She is so torn that it feels like her body is being pulled in two separate directions. And she has no idea how to fix it.
  • Brave: Unlike many girls her age, she is willing to say "Forget them" and walk away from her family. She also will do the riskiest action in dire situations, which often puts her reputation on the line.
  • Selfish: Maybe it comes from being slightly spoiled during her childhood, or from the fact that she knows she can leave, but Constance is selfish. She'll act for herself before anyone else.
  • Studious: This isn't to say that Connie is intelligent. No, she's not 'smart' in the book-sense, she does desire to be though. And the night before a given exam, she'll spend the whole night studying to get a halfway decent grade.
  • Family Oriented: This contradicts her rebellion against her father. Connie would absolutely love to be a mother to someone someday, she will not marry someone though strictly for that reason. She's determined to figure out how to be a mother in way that doesn't involve marriage or scandal.
  • Envious: She's jealous of anyone who has it better than her. She wants to have a comforting home to go to, rather than a brief stay with her brother that results in a fierce confrontation with her father.
  • Short or Fiery Tempered: She hates being picked on. If a person were to say anything remotely offensive, they'd have a firecracker on their hands.
