A month ago, his sister had hosted an unexpected well-to-do party at his house; tonight, a party of a much different sort was about to begin.

James still couldn't really believe that Everett Grimm had talked the three groomsmen who had planned the party into this much. Bachelor party, sure. James, in theory, supported the idea, though he obviously hadn't had to put this belief to test in practice yet. This, though, seemed a little over the top, and definitely for someone who was so hopelessly in love as Percival Weasley. The boy was practically a puppy dog for his fiancee. The idea of him showing up here and seeing not just some fun, scandalous decorations, as was to be expected, but a wide assortment of scantily clad girls wandering around the room.

"Where's your shirt?" he asked incredulously to a dancer who seemed to have misplaced it. She needed to get it back; she was part of a team of four who were all dressed similarly and were supposed to remove their clothing at the same time, as part of their dance. That, of course, had been Everett's idea. Whether the girls he'd found actually did this dance regularly, or whether they were just whores that he'd gotten some matching clothing for and tried to instill a sense of rhythm in was anyone's guess. The shirtless girl looked at him with wide-eyes, covering herself with her hands and seeming incapable of finding an answer. "Well, would you find it? They'll be here any minute." The girl nodded and rushed off to look through possible places it might have gone to. How does someone even lose a shirt? James wondered, then realized he didn't want to know the answer to that question.

His two partners-in-crime were off abducting the man of the hour even as he said these words, since there was no way Percival would willingly come to a bachelor party if he knew what it was. Coming to James' quiet, dark house, though... that was another matter. Of course, the house was anything but, but hopefully the silencing and darkening charms placed on the estate would keep the neighbors from becoming suspicious as the night wore on. All of the scandalous items at the party James had personally Apparated into his home with--including the whores--so there was no chance of anyone suspecting what was inside without walking in the front door.

"Sir, sir," said one of the girls, sliding up a little closer to him. "You need anything for the party starts, sir? Any... thing?" The whores were clearly a little restless and out of their element only having one eligible man in the room.

"Fine, thanks," he said, placing a hand on her shoulder and pushing her away a bit. "Maybe after a few drinks." What a mess this whole event was turning out to be. He certainly didn't have his sister's knack for party-throwing. The main room was chaos--he needed to do something. Take control of the situation.

"Listen, everyone!" James called out to the wide array of hired help--from the prostitutes, to the dancers, to the waitstaff, who were mostly there to make sure the drinks stayed filled through the night and, at the big moment, to wheel in the cake. "They'll be here very soon, so I need everyone to get into their places. Now," he demanded, voice ringing out with confidence and command.

This sent about a quite flutter of movement as the girls pushed to get into their places--most of them outside of the main room in the hallway that led to the kitchen, but a few to various places around the room, behind curtains or furniture, ready to pop out when the other girls came out in a line and swarmed poor Percy. James should never have agreed to this; it meant Ev might decide to do something similar when and if he ever got married, which just wasn't okay.

As the girls disappeared, the waiters took their places around the room, as if they were here for any typical party, though clearly they'd had to hire outside the usual realm of servants in this instance, as most respectable waiters wouldn't keep tight-lipped about a party such as this. When all was finally quiet, James collapsed onto one of the couches in the room and reached for the drink he'd started earlier, only to realize that one of the girls had dropped a gaudy fake earring into it. Gesturing to one of the waiters, he was quickly supplied with a new drink, which he downed in almost one drink. This had the potential to be either a very wild night or a very long night--and for James, maybe both.

Everett had been looking forward to this all week. Seriously, weddings were his new favorite thing. First Anders and now Percy, things were great. If he ever decided to get married at least he had some great guy friends who could return the favor of a great bachelor party. Thankfully, James had taken up all of the real planning duties. Of course he put lots of input in, quite a few ideas, but Ev's only real job was to kidnap the groom.

That he could handle.

He had a plan, had it all worked out. Of course, it wasn't all that genius, basic in principle really, but it would totally work. He had a partner in crime, that was good, that way he couldn't take all of the blame. Perfect.

He and Anders had worked it out. They weren't going to stun him or anything, that would be cruel, but a simple leg-locker or body binding jinx would do the trick, if they needed it to. Percy wasn't the kind of guy to actively participate in a bachelor party, not the guy was much too smitten, but they weren't going to give him much of a choice really. It was the man's last precious hours of being a single, free man and Everett was determined to make him enjoy it.

Kidnapping him and dragging him to Jame's house was perfect. Though James had insisted they lure him in, Ev had a back up plan ready to go, jinx and everything all set just in case. It was a surprise. Showing up on the guy's door and insisting he come out with them was going to look suspicious, so they'd had to think it through. Planning was not Ev's strong suit, he was much more of a get-up-and-go kind of guy, just get into it and think about it later, but this little plan of attack took some finesse. Not to mention, Ev would one day, maybe, probably not, have the tides turned on him and he wanted everybody to think kindly of him at the time. Instead of going with a basic kidnapping plan, Ev had sent Percy an owl with a quick note earlier in the day.

One drink, on us. We'll pick you up at seven.

They sauntered up to his house, completely at ease and knocked loudly on the door. It was going to take some smooth talking on Everett's part, to be very convincing, but he could do it; he was quite good at it. When the door opened, he grinned widely. "Evening friend." He greeted Percy casually. "Hope you got our note, we're here to pick you up. James has a nice bottle ready for us at his place." Without much hesitation, he grabbed his friend by the arm and pulled him out with them. "Got cold feet yet?" He questioned slyly as they started to make their way down the street. His friends knew his views on marriage, but he really wasn't out to ruin it for anybody else, despite his own opinions.

Bachelor parties. Poor Anders was suckered into his own party not more than a month ago before his own wedding. A wild night of alcohol, food, and women--a "wonderfully hosted soiree" by Everett Grimm himself, as James would say, sarcastically I might add. Ev was not much of a planner, or host for that matter--the night ended with Ev going M.I.A. with the entertainment while James took it upon himself to clean up the horrible mess that they behind, including Anders (as part of the mess). It was no wonder that James wanted to furnish the next party. They all loved Ev to death, but it seemed that his friends all preferred that he be an accomplice rather than the master-mind. Anders certainly agreed, as this new set up they hoped would work out much better than before for their new victim. The gents were all seemingly getting better and better at throwing better and better parties every year.

Besides, Anders and Ev were a tag team--they took it upon their pride to go snatch up the stuffy Percival, much like Everett did with Anders, and bring him to the showdown.

Anders tried to act as cool as possible when both he and Ev greeted Percival. Anders gave Perc a big Howland smile, threw his hand on Percival's back, and dragged the guy along with Ev.

Anders knew a bit more about Percival than did the other guys, primarily because they were work buddies. They could usually read each others emotions rather distinctly. Through great amounts of willpower, Anders tried to hold back any signs of tension or tentativeness, as well as any overly emphasized gestures of grandeur. He did this mainly by keeping his hands safe in his pockets, relaxing his back muscles to a slight slouch. He checked his watch once or twice to avoid eye-contact with the guys as they casually walked down the street. The time was shortly after seven. Anders avoided his charming self for the moment, holding back some of his excitement for fear of causing Percival to be suspicious. Anders pretended well, just as Ev did, that this was just a mere drink...of course, when Anders and Ev were guiding you somewhere, it surely wasn't just for one casual drink, on any occasion.

Anders didn't really want to poke any comments yet. Ev's sly, hinting words were already pushing it--if Anders were to speak, he would probably give the whole surprise away, if it hadn't already been figured out by Percival. He was surely not as witty as Ev was with the tongue, and Anders didn't believe he could talk himself out of a situation if Percival started asking questions.

Percival didn’t really know what was going on as his pal Everett pulled him out the door. He hadn’t gotten any letter, but he figured he’d go along with whatever was happening. He wasn’t doing anything at the moment and he hadn’t seen his friends in a while. Anders was, of course, there as well and it was quite an unusual thing. He figured though that Everett wouldn’t really be at his home without Anders as Percival and Everett were first acquainted through him. “Cold feet?” He furrowed his brow, unsure of what he was referring to. “If you’re referring to my impending wedding, then no. I’m marrying an angel. Why would I have cold feet over that?” he meant every word, the man was terribly smitten with his bride to be.

It was then that the two grabbed him and apparated him away, and when they reached their destination he saw another friend, James Riley. If it were any usual man, they would have suspected what was going on. But Percival Weasley was no ordinary man. He was trusting and perhaps a bit unperceptive at times which is why he had no clue that he was at his own bachelor part. When half naked women strutted out however, he was unable to remain naïve to what was going on. “What in the world?” he said it as if he were utterly offended, averting his eyes from the women that were giggling and talking amongst themselves.

“Oh he’s a handsome one!” One girl giggled, approaching him. He evaded her by walking to the other side of the room. He would definitely be having words with his friends.

Now You're Free To Be
Thank God they were here, that was all he could say about that. There were far too many ladies here for only one man who was only half-single. There were honestly too many women here for the entire bachelor party, but if there were three more guys here, they could at least diffuse the love a little bit.

"'Bout time you got here. Ladies, the man of the hour!" James exclaimed to the girls that had just made their grand appearance and were now walking with interest towards Percival, who was, from all appearances, running away from them. James had to feel at least a little badly for him, so he waved the nearest waiter over and told him cheerfully, "Get that man a beer, he'll need several. Actually--" he said, raising a hand to stop the waiter before he took off towards the poor bachelor. "I'll take it. Just go get my a bigger glass. And something hard."

The man immediately disappeared, and while he was waiting for his return, James turned to find Everett and Anders, hoping that they hadn't already disappeared in the crowd of women. "He came willingly, right?" he asked the guys, since the only thing he'd seen was the three of them stagger in the door a second before the girls had roared through. He knew there had been a contingency plan if Percival hadn't wanted to attend his bachelor's party, but he'd never heard what it was and he'd definitely never approved it.

At that moment, the waiter returned with two very large glasses of something clear; probably vodka or gin, he imagined. "Good man!" he said, taking one from each, muttered to the boys that he would be right back, and went to deliver Percival's drink. He found the 'man of the hour' as he'd called him in the corner, and shoved the glass into his hand before he had a chance to complain--or probably even realize what was happeneing.

"Drink up, mate--you'll need every drop. It all goes downhill from here."

Perc had come rather willingly and Everett was almost put out that he couldn't use his contingency plan, but it would probably be for the better if the man arrived for his bachelor party conscious. Ev would have far fewer questions to answer and James wouldn't try to kill him either.

Their greeting upon arrival was something Everett had particularly been looking forward too, watching in amusement how Percy immediately sidestepped one of the ladies and booked it to hide. Oh, that could be easily cured with a few drinks. Everett intervened, grabbing the pretty young thing around the waist, giving Perc the time needed to adjust. "Why don't you grab me a whiskey and we can discuss the rest of the evening in a moment." He gave her an appreciative tap on the ass as she sauntered away, a goofy grin on his face when she giggled and he turned his attention to James momentarily.

"Yes, it was almost too easy." He pouted for a moment, but remembered his earlier thoughts and decided it probably was best. "Though I'm pretty sure he's completely out of his element." Everett on the other hand, felt completely comfortable in a room full of half naked women. In fact, he was enjoying himself immensely. Of course, he was also one of very few men in the room that was completely unattached in any way shape of form. He knew he wouldn't get any action besides what had been paid for in terms of the party. Getting himself a whore for the evening was no on the list of things he could afford at the moment, what with his impending resignation/firing from the school. He was going to miss that job, but perhaps it was for the best that he wasn't there any more. Too much scrutiny going on there. He had been an idiot and gotten himself caught. That was his own fault, but now he was a freer man to do what and who he wanted without anybody keeping tabs on him.

"How are we going to get him to forgive us?" But it seemed James already had that settled, seeing Percy out and handing him a drink. Ev just grinned as his lady friend returned, drink in hand. Perfect, just perfect.

Yes this night was going to be epic.

Florence was an amazing wife. But would she really forgive him if she knew how many naked girls he has seen over the past month? It scared Anders to even ponder the idea. But this night was obviously for Percival. Anders would surely make it his duty to forget the naked girls and help Percival through what already seemed to be a scary time for the poor groom.

James had really done a great job on the party so far. The drinks and the food were top shelf. The girls were admittedly very beautiful and lively, ready to serve for a potentially fine evening--as long as Percival doesn't have a meltdown. The poor guy already darted away into the other room practically within seconds it seemed--so fast that Anders or Ev didn't even have the chance to grab a hold of him. While James went to grab poor Perc a drink, Anders relieved himself of Ev and slid into the other room to console the scared fellow. Beforehand, he slipped Ev a few words before making his way into the other room before James. Hopefully Anders could warm Percival up a bit before the festivities began.

"I gotta somehow make the man forgive us, Ev. Take care of the ladies while I help our guy through. Best you get to know the ladies first and keep them in line while James is away." Anders patted Ev's back and winked at him, trying to play on Ev's "good" nature.

Anders quickly whisked himself into the other room to assist Percival from his corner. "Listen, chum, the less ya' fight this, the easier the night will flow. Take it from me--Ev did the same thing to me a month ago. You know how much I love my wife, and you also know that I am faithful to her til' the end. Trust me friend, you'll survive the night! If the ladies become to much for ya', I'll handle it. I won't let them take advantage of you. You have my word. We will eat, and drink, and the girls will do a little dance for ya' and that will be that. No harm done, am I right?" Anders gave the frightened man a comfy pat on the back.

Anders could hear someone approaching. James. With some drink in his hand. "Look! James just brought the right medicine to get you through."

"Drink up, mate--you'll need every drop. It all goes downhill from here."

Percival stared at Anders as he spoke, trying to assuage his nerves. It wasn’t helping any, especially when he said his bit about the girls dancing. Honestly, what made them think he’d want to be around scantily clad women dancing? He, of course, couldn’t bring himself to really be angry with them. They were trying to show him a good time, but this was not a good time. He had eyes only for Rowena, and while the women may be attractive – he honestly didn’t notice – he had absolutely no desire to be in their company. He’d have much preferred spending the night with his potion work, fiddling around and possibly blowing things up.

This just wasn’t his idea of fun, and while he usually wasn’t the drinking type, he knew he’d have to have some drinks to survive. So when James came up to hand him a drink, he took it readily, gulping down the contents of the glass. It left a burning sensation down his throat, but it wasn’t any worse than some of the potions he had drunk in his lifetime. Glass empty, he held it out to James and said, “Alright, mate, get me some more then.” Usually he wouldn’t be so demanding, but it was his night and he was nervous as hell, so he figured James would understand.

“Bloody insane this is.” He muttered to himself, straightening his coat that had somehow become lopsided, possibly from women pawing at him. Oh dear, if Rowena found out about this night…but surely she’d understand that it wasn’t his idea. In fact, he had no clue that there was going to be any sort of party when he consented to following Anders and Everett to James’s house. If he had known…well, he wouldn’t have come out, needless to say.

He had absolutely no desire to do anything with these women, unlike Everett who seemed to be reveling in the abundance of women. It made Percival nervous. Sure, he was a man and he liked beautiful women, but to him no one compared to Rowena. So every time he caught a woman’s eye, he imagined if it were Rowena in the scanty clothing, and in turn felt every bit a perverse old man. Sure, she’d be his wife soon, but she was not yet and to have such thoughts of her in such tawdry uniform was surely ungentlemanly.

Sighing he took a gulp of the refill glass James had brought him. It was going to be a long night.

James couldn't help but get a bit wide-eyed when Percy downed the first glass. Of all his mates, Percy was definitely not the one he would figure as a heavy drinker... in fact, the little starry-eyed puppy that he was, he'd probably be last on his list of people who could down a drink in that short a time. Even some ladies would rank above him, as far as James was concerned. Percival was just so... intellectual. Not that James wasn't intellectual as well, but they were an entirely different breed. Really, it was these small, tenuous ties that held their friendship together, despite a radical difference of temperment in most situations; Perc was an intellectual and a romantic, and deep down in his core, James was, too. He was, first and foremost, however, a fun-loving, social guy, and--if he was honest with himself, maybe a little more dependent on drink than was socially acceptable.

As long as he was doing better than Everett, though, he couldn't really be that bad. He had a job, which was something Ev might not be able to boast of much longer, and he had a fiancee... sort of.

Well, he wouldn't dwell on how much more successful he was than Everett (or how much he wasn't, for that matter). That would only depress him.

Obediently, he signalled a waiter and got Percival another glass, something a bit harder. If he was going to pound through them like that, might as well make them count. For a moment, James worried that Percival would not enjoy himself at all on that night. He really wasn't the sort to want a bachelor party. How had they planned this massive extravaganza?

Well, there were very few problems that alcohol couldn't fix. Percival already had the alcohol; that was a start. Now he just needed a little confidence boost. James was completely clueless there; his best hope was that maybe if Ev and he were comfortable, Percival would get a little more comfortable. Maybe. Everett certainly needed no help there, so now it was his turn. Smile, James. Say something encouraging.

"You'll be fine, really," he said, cheerfully downing a third of his drink. "Just loosen up. It's one night. They don't bite," he teased, though this probably didn't make Perc feel any better, he realized. Now time for the convincing part. Lead by example.

With another smile, he patted Percival on the back reassuringly and went back to Everett. Everett was sort of like a safety blanket in this situation; a lifeline. James was engaged (sort of), and flirting with women was definitely not his forte.

Fortunately, it was what these girls did for a living. Before he'd even had a chance to say anything to Everett a beautiful blond had inched a few fingers along his arm. "Nice party," she cooed, enjoying a sip of a drink she'd gotten from a waiter. He wasn't sure if they'd budgeted drinks for the girls, too, but he was hardly going to say anything at this point. "You have a nice house here."

"Thanks," he muttered. She smiled, even though what he'd said was little confirmation of any sort of attraction at all. Unsure how to deal with these girls, James found himself turning, though whether he was turning to Everett or just to more girls, he wasn't even really sure at this point.

[Skipping Ev in lieu of Chas - he's off in the corner hitting on girls, it's a given]

It was rare that Chas was out of the Maison for work. She often went out for trips to High Street, but rarely when she was working. Tonight was a special case, a stag party. Chas always enjoyed these and while she'd gotten paid up front for the evening, she always figured that she could either find herself some new patrons or at least coerce a gentleman back to her bed at the Maison for the night and some extra money.

While just as comfortable in the dress she currently wore as her usual attire back at work. Then again, her dress wasn't exactly appropriate. No, the low front and short sleeves left little to the imagination. Her corset was laced up tight, making her already small waist even tinier and her breasts even fuller. Not that they needed any help; Chas was a buxom girl to begin with. Her figure had always been an asset to her occupation. Tonight half of it was hidden beneath her skirts, which was usual for her as she was most often wearing nothing or something resembling pajamas, but she could still make it work. Chas had never been one to follow the rules of society, so picking up her skirts a little, or a lot farther that was polite never bothered her.

Right now she was settled in Mr. Riley's home, sitting rather comfortably among her fellow whores as they waited for the stag party to get in gear. There were quite a few gentlemen around and while Chas could easily hit any of them up, she was waiting to see if anybody else was going to pop up. She wasn't picky per se, but she wanted to put her attentions toward the right guy or guys for the evening. The poor bloke getting married wasn't going to be much fun, if she had a guess. From what she'd heard, he was a nice guy, smitten with his bride-to-be and while Chas' profession wasn't all that honorable, she didn't want to mess anything up for the happy couple. Temping an engaged man wasn't fair in the slightest, despite the fact that a good portion of her patrons were married, there was a huge difference in being married than engaged.

As the guest of honor arrived and the host greeted them, she had a fleeing fancy for the host, but he seemed rather easily distracted by trying to make sure everything was going smoothly and had already thwarted the advances of her co-workers. No Chas turned her gaze to the two gentlemen that came in with the groom. The athletic brunette was immensely attractive, with that goofy smile, but he moved on quickly, completely at ease in the room. The tall blonde however, hadn't found any company yet, so Chas roused herself from her seat and sauntered over to him, a pair of drinks in hand she had picked up from a tray as she made her way across the room. "Evening," She smiled at him slyly over the rim of the champagne flute, holding the other out to him.

One crisis hopefully averted. Percival seemed at least willing to drink his nerves away, which was a relieving sign that he would stay for the time being. Besides, Anders hoped that the poor chap would save himself the embarrass by staying despite the party's obvious risque nature. Events like these tested a man's true mettle in the face of skin-walking sin, and knowing Percival, Anders believed in the faith of his friend. And that was exactly what Anders told the fellow before leaving the back room.

"Events like this test a man's mettle and faithfulness to his wife. I know you, Perc. I know how much you love Rowena. She is an amazing woman, and you are gonna' marry her! Besides, you got us here, and we ain't gonna' let you down, my friend. If things are too much, we'll handle it. You just let me know." Anders started to turn himself away from Percival before exclaiming, "And you are already one shot ahead of me! It's about time I also loosen myself up a bit. As a married man myself, I gotta have a quick tongue with these feisty lookin' ladies!" And with that Anders left the room to stir among the party crowd. Someone other than Ev and James had to break the ice for Percival.

Anders already had a wonderfully flirtatious and friendly attitude which came naturally to him. Some suspected that this demeanor demonstrated betrayal to his beloved, but Florence certainly knew better; that Anders was just a friendly guy. It was actually what Florence loved about him. And Anders was particularly satisfied that the woman of his dreams didn't have a bone of envy anywhere in her body. Yet another reason why she was the perfect woman for him.

Drinks. The only thought on Anders mind at the moment as he sauntered forth from the back room. Not a moment later, a blonde haired vixen approached him not with the tray of drinks, but with only two in hand. Immediately was Anders cautious about the lady, as she was obviously one of the entertainers from a quick subtle glance up and down her body. Extremely beautiful was she, blonde and busty, with a twinkle in her eye. Damn James, you really have outdone yourself here.

The natural reaction was to be cordial and friendly with the vixen. With an air of confidence and frivolity, Anders opened up to the woman by receiving the drink offered to him.

There was slight concern however, for he had no idea of this woman's true capabilities, especially if she had magical blood in her veins. Fellas like Anders always had to watch out for charmed drinks at risky occassions--surely James had already taken proper precautions to ensure a smooth, scandal-free night. Anders had faith that James hired trustworthy women, as laughable as that seemed regarding their profession. All in all though, Anders had faith in people, and the woman in front of him seemed genuinely nice enough. He couldn't imagine her doing anything naughty to the drink, anyway.

Upon approaching her, Anders took up the drink calmly and jested, "You ain't done nothin' too charmin' to my drink, I hope?" In his suave manner, he winked at the woman to ensure her that he was joking.

"The name's Howland. Anders Howland. And to whom do I owe this pleasure?" He took a sip of the champagne.

This wasn't exactly what he'd had in mind; somehow when he'd set out to join the party, to make Percival feel more at ease, he'd managed to be the only one without a girl. Which was honestly probably his fault; he hadn't given off the impression, before the arrival of the other men, that he was a particularly big spender in that department, so now the girls were avoiding him in favor of the others. A blond was talking it up with Anders, Ev had a least three girls batting their eyelashes at him.. and then there was James.

He grabbed another drink. Did he want to have a girl on his arm? In theory, yes. It made sense. He'd already hired them. It was a bachelor party. He was somewhat morally absolved from the guilt of whatever happened tonight, as such. In reality, what did he really want? Did he want a girl? He wanted Alice Lovegood. That wasn't really an option though, least of all right at the moment. So the question was, would he settle for some bombshell's company for the night?

Yes, he decided. That would do just fine. He downed his drink and stuck out a hand to stop a girl passing by. She had red hair. Sort of like Alice. Sort of like Felicity Prewett. He wasn't sure which of those comparisons was more important to him, but in any case, she'd do. He wasn't going to do much with her, anyway--a few kisses, perhaps, after some conversation, maybe some half-drunken dancing.

"Keep me company," he said, gesturing to the couch, and she was more than happy to oblige, sitting very close to where he flopped down. He asked some meaningless question and she started jabbering, and he pretended to listen while the waiter replaced his beverage. This was what parties were all about, pretending to listen; this one had the added advantage of having a more-than-trivial ending. Well, still trivial... it would just feel a little more real, for a moment.
